Ed, I think you’ve done a great job with this, as, to me, it looks very complicated. Also it’s not been a straight-forward build. I do hope your move goes well, and you have a new home that can allow you to still get some shed time, and ‘steam time’. All the best to you and Ursula. Les in Chester

Thanks Les. I did find this a difficult build and my excuse is I am suffering brain fog due to long covid. Hopefully the next project will be quicker assuming I don't get covid again. No progress on the house move so far, but we are not under any time pressure (apart from old age that is).

Well done Edwin, great job and you look rightly pleased as punch! Also well done to your wife for the filming. Hope the move goes well!

I hope so to re the move, but no takers for our house as yet. Still we are not in a hurry. I am rather self critical so at this time am not totally pleased with the paddle engine. Give it a few months to forget all the tribulations and I will doubtless take a different view. LOL

It's been a very interesting project, Edwin. I wouldn't have the patience or knowledge to attempt such a project. Well done 👏 and thanks for sharing.

Many thanks! Candidly I am pleased to see the back of this one. Not a proper excuse, but long covid has seriously banjaxed my brain. LOL

@edwinwhite933 As I said, it was a great project, and to be honest, I heard your frustration at times. What's next?

Angela bought me a set of castings for a 'nodding donkey' pumping engine so I think I will tackle that next. Should be a lot more straight forward than the paddle engine.

You look like the mad professor 😂 shame you can't rebuild the engine in my truck 😢

Morning Ian. The local consensus is that I don't have all my marbles. Sorry about the truck engine, but these days I only work on things I can actually pick up. Engines are a bit much! In any event I suspect that modern vehicles are well beyond my capability. Took my car in yesterday to have new rear discs and pads. In the (very) old days I could have bought 6 cars for the price and still had change. This volvo is nuts - 4 years old and only the rear brakes are worn, the front ones are hardly touched. Clearly some sort of Volvo electronic safety featur re brake bias. the mechanic said it was not unusual, but he couldn't fully explain it either.

Many thanks. Have to say that I did not feel very gifted during the build, hopefully some of the bad experience will fade with time. LOL

Magnificent Ed! That engine is a work of art. Thank you so much for putting this video series together. In a way its as a bit sad that its come to an end as I always felt a surge of exictement each time a new episode came out but I'm sure you will be on to something else before too long. Good luck with the move. Do you have any plans to display the engine at any of the m/e shows?

Glad you enjoyed it! I am rather a 'lone hand' so no plans to display in public. Angela bought me a set of castings for a nodding donkey type pumping engine so that is likely the next project. As yet though I haven't even opened the box.
