This couldn't have come at a better time for me Matt. I've been stuck on a project for weeks with a complete creative block and simply being overwhelmed by huge amounts of footage. This is a huge help! Thanks so much for continuing to share your insights!
LOVE the informative videos like this Matt! Definitely make more! We need an editing course from you! More deep dives into your process and how you cut everything would be so helpful!
appreciate the feedback! i actually had a whole course filmed a few years back but it never ended up coming out. what other topics would you like me to cover?
@@MattKomo You definitely should do one for sure man. I think an in depth look at your workflow from start to finish would be super helpful as well as your storytelling tips. How you use your creative transitions and sound design to help tell the story even better. and especially a look at how you stylize footage with those overlays and transitions and tutorials on some of your most used ones. I enjoyed the few tutorials you did with Lens Distortions so something similar but with more info and teaching even more would be sick. Maybe even offering your own digital assets pack where us creatives can drag and drop custom Komo light leaks, sound FX, and VFX transitions/animations into our own projects would be super cool as an add on or separate thing. I own your LUTs and presets and they’ve been SUPER beneficial to my creative career and in helping me understand how to get certain looks to photo and video so more digital products like those would be even better! I’m sure I can speak for most when I say you’re the biggest inspiration in telling a story and making it highly unique, creative, and engaging. So many of us are looking to your work as examples on how we can implement those things into our own. So by offering a course and possibly some more assets, you would be ushering in a new wave of creative storytelling with us all. Hope you consider doing more of this man! It helps more than you know!💪🏼
Would love to see more of these man! You're a legend in the industry and I know you've got so much to share. Coming from someone you inspired to drop out of school and pursue filmmaking full timeThanks for all the Inspiration over the years. Hope to work with you someday 🙏
Hey Matt! I've been following you for the longest time and you don't know how hard I've been struggling with this. And thank you for sharing your expertise. I would love to see how you go about crafting your story more. Thank you so much for dropping this video, you saved me from a major headache.
@@MattKomo Because of you, I look at creating my videos at a much different lens than before. I used to be all about the highlights and making the video look cool but a lot of my clients had many revisions (although they always told me my work is great) and I couldn't understand why. I am reminded by your work everyday that the story DOES come first. Thanks bro!
@@MattKomo absolutely 💯 👌 wouldnt miss it. Your insught, advice and tips are critical to anyone wanting to learn and create powerful pieces. 😎 Really appreciate it as ever bro.
@@MattKomo ok... well a matter of taste as always but I really want to emphasize/clarify why and how it could be better: Your voice seems to have been recorded with an on-camera shotgun that was a bit too far away for the sound "issues" (reverb/echo) of the room ... a closer boomed shotgun or lav microphone would have been better (but I think you know that already 😉) because your voice sounds a bit thin and also seems to clip at times. A better Voice Recording would have helped with issue two, the music is a bit too loud and distracting. Maybe optimized postproduction/mixing would help with those "issues" ...anyways ...sorry for being the "annoying" #SoundPoilce here but you are a UA-camr/Filmmaker that is known for great stuff and great production value and quality and it's a bit sad to see/hear average sound/audio, especially in a tutorial for UA-camrs and filmmakers ;) ...maybe I'm just too critical and ppl watching on their phone don't care about it anyway 🤪
this video seems way out of what Komo usually does. trying to teach us editing in 2mins! I can see he has a waiting list in the description but not sure what we're waiting for? A newsletter? I appreciate it, but just a little confused is all.

@Matt Komo Great video and tips! Also, when is A Forgotten Life coming to UA-cam?
hopefully soon! I have a lot of work to get done behind the scenes - if the next few days are ultra productive It will be releasing very soon
Hi Legend...
How many hours do you think you spent editing that video 🤔
this one or the Zedd piece?? I had to crank and get the whole thing edited in like 5 days times
good tips ... interesting workflow with those timelines ...having said thatthe audio / sound mix for this video was not the best ;) #JustSaying
lol thanks for the comment! I think it sounds great hahaha

WHERE’S THE MOVIE KOMO 😩?
see my response on your other comment hahaha
What's the song Matt used?
its by a producer names jaakob, the song is called rise

I appreciate it, but just a little confused is all.
trying a little experiment, seeing if people resonate with this type of content
Please don’t use music that loud for a video like this. Too loud and too distracting
lol I thought it sounded nice
Your background music IN this video was competing with your voice and I couldn't watch!
What I just watched is to hard to understaind, the music, explanation, the klips, everything is to rush. Sorry Matt.
sick video
thank you tony! I appreciate the kind words
