  • Join us as we go for a drive to pick up a 1/2 a cow that we ordered through Farmer to Fridge. I will share how we ordered and how you can order beef directly from a farm too, using the Farmer to Fridge Platform. This online way of buying beef connects customers directly from farmers.
In the video I share how much room a half a cow will take in your vehicle and we will unpack it together, so you can see how much room you will need in your freezer, and how much meat a half a cow actually is.
And we explain our plans to preserve our half a cow. Which should be preserving enough cow to last us a year!
Don't miss the following episodes where we preserve the cow in lots of different ways.

Should have cleaned the windscreen before that trip! Always real sharing 😂
Hopefully this proves helpful if you have been looking to purchase direct from a farm too.
Here is a link to the platform I used for my order -

I was waiting for the cost but saw you posted in the comments. That’s good looking meat there. I held off ordering because we where not sure how much freezer space was needed and need to buy one first. That was helpful to see yours Rachael. You could probably fit a little more if the meat hadn’t been frozen and repacked, or possibly if packed in their boxes with lid off?

You are spot on that it would have fit better if not frozen first. But that was totally on me, as not the norm.
That is wonderful to hear this was helpful Kayleen. I didn't mention the price, as I didn't want people to think what I paid would be the same for each purchase, with it being so different farm by farm.

Best bet is to jump on the Farmer to Fridge website. They have lots of farms in there right across Australia.
You pop in your postcode and it gives you ones that are for your area.

Hi Do they only sell in Victoria or do they have farmers on the NSW South coast??

They have heaps of farmers all around Australia they work with. I think there are lots in NSW. On the website, you pop in your postcode and it gives you all the farmers for your area.

As there are lots of farms, each one does differ, so watch for that. When we purchased it was $12.50/kg. It is A LOT of meat, so in one hit was around $1500 for this order.
