One of the best street food near your hotel is Jl. Sabang, you definitely should give it a try cause it has a lot more options. You also might want to try martabak, both martabak manis and tipker (tipis kering) 👌🏼

It's called bakwan. Bakwan it's a vegetable which is "tepung" Or "flour" mixed with "sayur" Or "veggies". And then you add some salt or a crisps seasoning, then fry it. Then it's become bakwan, the one that's you called sayur or onion things. Sorry for my bad english, hope u guys can understand my explanation. And enjoy your food. ^^ and pisang, bakwan, and all of those crisps you eat we call it "Gorengan" Or you could say "fries". And pisang it's a "banana fries".

the fried banana that you eat called "pisang goreng" which means literally fried (goreng) banana (pisang).
And the one that he said "sayur" was julienne cut vegetables fried in batter. We called it "bala bala". Sayur means vegetable in english.. Usually bala bala ingredients are carrots, bean sprouts and leeks.
And the reason why it's so though and rubbery, because it's been a while and not freshly fried. You should ask for some freshly fried bala bala next time. It's crunchy 😁

Apem cake is made from fermented rice flour to give it a sour taste, perhaps similar to making bread.

5:45, it’s veggie fritters. We call it bakwan. Sayur means vegetables. Most likely we don’t put onion because it’s gonna make it soggy and make the fritters less crispy. Enjoy guys. I miss my country.
15:33, it’s pandan leaves and they made it with essence extracted from the pandan leaves. It’s very common in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. Matcha is mostly the “new” adapted desert for the younger crowd.

the 'green airy pancake with palm sugar syrup' Is called SERABI. There is no matcha involves in the recipe; but pandan leaves (screw pine leaves). The white takjil is called kue MANGKOK (steamed cupcake). The bitter after taste come from sugar substitute used in the cooking (cheaper product for cost cutting; e.g: saccharine). Based on my experience, when kue Mangkok taste sour, it means it spoils (not fresh). Thankgoodness, your guts are pretty strong. Anyway, just don't forget to try 'martabak terang bulan'.

if you came back again to Jakarta, make sure to visit Sabang Street in the night, its near the Plaza Indonesia Mall only 1 red light stop to the north. You can find almost ever indonesian staple food in there. And of course you need to taste our very tasty yet very sinful desert call Martabak Manis (Sweet Martabak) with various topping, the OG is chocolate sprinkle with cheese and crush peanut, but nowadays you can put anything from toblerone, nuttella, ovomaltine, to durian. Also try the savory one call Martabak Telor, just make sure you choose one with the duck egg (telor bebek). You can also try Nasi Goreng Kambing Kebon Sirih (Fried Rice with Goat Meat), its just a few minutes away from Sabang Street and also try their Goat Meat Satay (Sate Kambing).
FYI, in a few week we will be celebrating Idul Fitri (May 13th, 2021), just be sure to come before or after that date. its because Jakarta mostly gonna be "quiet" and most street vendor will be closed during the holiday a few days before and after that date. But If you wanna experience when a busy city came to a halt, its in Idul Fitri here in Jakarta.

About the takjil, let's break it down
    1. Serabi Kuah: the sauce (kuah) is basically steamed coconut milk + brown/palm sugar combo (and pandan leaves for fragrance). Kuah is quite a versatile Indonesian word actually, it just means watery/soupy. So if you see in a menu there's a word kuah, it's not gonna be sweet all the time hahahahah
    2. Kue Apem. Lol I don't think I will recommend this to first-timer. It has such a distinctive, sour-y taste, the texture is the same with the Indian gulab jamun. It's an overnight rice flour cake with some yeast, milk and sugar. Personally not my favorite too but some people like it
    3. Kue Wajik. The name referred to its rhombus shape, which in Indonesian language called as wajik. As you figured it out, it's sticky rice, coconut milk and brown sugar
