Mike, thanks for showing exactly how you did that! As usual, your explanation was detailed and complete. It also shows how much work is involved in making ONE part like that.
Perfect description of linear stretching! Just enough "frenching" for a really beautiful custom look! Another great tutorial! Go Cornfield Customs, keep moving forward!
Glad you liked it!
Mike Quote.... "I'm not much of an artist!". And yet he produces the most beautiful rolling works of Art!!! 🤔👍😁
Was think the exact same thing
Excellent explanation of the process. I'm always amazed how the efficiently the big machines allow you to move metal if you know what you're doing. The big machines are not practical for a home guy like me, but this shows me it can be done with proper planning. Thanks for sharing these.
A lot of work to fabricate that hammerform but that's the only way it's going to retain its shape for a precision fit and make a matched pair. Nice work..
I hope you film the fitting up as it gets closer. Maybe my favorite video of yours so far. I'd like to see how the uneven hammering of top and sides works.
Yeah, thanks, Mike. love this shoebox build. I can't wait for part 2. Thanks again for going through this with us, I love real time never boring.
Thanks for the feed back!
Thanks Mike for explaining how you did this. Always helpful and inspiring. 🙏
Master craftsmen at work thank you so much from across the pond
I just found the answers to some questions i've had. Thank you very much. 😀
A favorite video for me. Combining custom and creation with lots of detail. Finished lights will be sweet! Nice work Mike.
Another great teaching video Mike. Thanks again for sharing your skills with us.
This is like car guy magic. Watching the metal move is awesome. This def gives me some ideas on how to achieve my idea.
Mike, the way you walk us thru is very descriptive. And that matters, it's a gift. Let's talk thinning. How much thinner is the material that was worked?
@@davidhyson9910 anout .010-.015 thinner at the stretched edgw
Always get inspiration watching your videos ... pretty cool ...
Awesome Mike
Good Video . Very nice work .
Just Awesome and Beautiful
Beautifull work
Thanks Mike, very helpful video
..I think Matt and the fellas at iron trap could use this as reference...good work
Great video Mike! Shows how much fixture work has to be done to make truly custom parts!
Great video thanks Mike.
Glad you enjoyed it
You’re an artist
Thanks!
Pain staking work Mike , but well worth the effort , looks mint 😎😎🤘🤘
Looks great.
Thanks!

Nice work 👏.
Glad you liked it!
Great video how long have you been doing sheet metal work..
In joy watching your videos....
@@toddenglert4815 i have been doing metal work for 20 years
Great video. How many hours to make one tail light bucket? Great video. In 1964, we put 1956 Packard tail lights on our 1950 Ford Coupe.
It takes as long as it takes
great video thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
WOW!
Mike, how much thickness in the metal do you lose as you stretch and roll over the edge and is it enough to pose an issue for welding to a thicker (shrunk area) of a fender?
Are you using “ Walkers Razor” Bluetooth hearing protection? Do they work well?
Yes many hammer form videos… like Karl Fisher
We call that "tolerance stacking".
In reference to being off 1/16 here and few thou there.
Hi, do you charge your customer for the making of the hammer form fixture
@@557f1 yes. If I am working on any part of their project or a part to make a part my time is being charged for
@cornfieldcustoms I agree 💯. I build jigs with some of the Jobs, I do. The hour's quickly add up. Thanks for the reply.
Hey man?! To build a wheel well i would need to build a buck correct?
@@JasonWilkins-rw3qj not always, but you need something base it on
@cornfieldcustoms ok thank you man
At the end I realized I need to take my taillight to the pet store and find a dog food bowl that fits well.
@@danielbuckner2167 this is far from a dog bowl
@@cornfieldcustoms I'm not saying it's easy to make or there wasnt talent in making it... but it's not far enough away from a dog bowl for me to not try and fit one first. 😜👍🏻
@ good luck
@@cornfieldcustoms Thanks!😁
Lets hear it for Ohio
if you are interested ? I have the design of a linier and stretch die (lower and upper) to do just that type of stretching including C or H channels for a planishing hammer, with a bit of work it could be made to fit your big power hammers . Please send me a email and I will send the design to you
Cheers from Australia
