Those are not fake wheels, that's where the real life vehicle stores it's spare tires. I've seen one driving by in my village, they're doing military training in our quarry.
To be fair the canopy, unlike Cliff, is intended to stay on during transformation (as the instructions suggests). And unlike Arcee, the transformation isn't hindered by keeping it on. It's still just a shield, but it's integrated very well.
Hey TJ, I know that I'm not the first person to bring this up but the canopy can actually stay attached for transformation into either mode. You just need to unpeg the tabs that slot into the sides of the truck and then the entire piece can stay in place on the 5mm port ending up on his back in robot mode. The partsforming on this guy is entirely optional.
Thank you.. saved me the trouble to write it… I can’t stand “part forming” in my TFs.. good job TJ tho.. he got me into TFs again.. I just posted a blackout video unboxing .. anyways thanks ua-cam.com/video/pZZW2snz9VA/v-deo.html
as a fan of animated and prime, this design looks good and unique to me,the Idea of the figure being prime bulkhead with the animated bulkhead similair alt mod is just unique and cool,i Hope if energon bulkhead Can get some love
I’m fine with this look especially for a G1 style. Even though this is some serious animated Bulkhead vibes, I can still see him as prime Bulkhead. But this makes me question how this would work story wise if he’s the Prime version and not a G1 version since he would still be an suv, or hummer style vehicle. And that also makes me wonder when it came to the sizes. Cause if he was an SUV, he would be pretty short next to prime. And in Prime, Optimus was way taller than him, but in animated, Bulkhead was taller than Prime, so to me it’s the logical choice to have Bulkhead become a military truck.
My problem with this figure is that they call him Prime universe Bulkhead if they just called him Bulkhead I wouldn’t have a problem. I keep the shield on his back because it looks like the animated character with his back kibble
There *are* multiple universe variants of Bulkhead in canon technically. So yeah while they made it clear this is a take on Transformers Prime Bulkhead, I think it's a fallacy to just assume that means it's supposed to be identical to the depiction that it's based on. Also Arcee is notably different from her Prime appearance as well but I don't really see people using the same argument for her.
@@vision4860 The designer on Instagram said he made this Bulkhead as a new incarnation, but the marketing team ignored that in favor of brand recognition. That's the difference between Legacy Bulkhead and Legacy Arcee
This guy started to grow on me more once I'd seen actual in-hand shots and not just promo-images, but once I actually got one myself...I kinda love him? I get that he's still not really what people wanted, but as far as a "G1-ified" Bulkhead goes to fit with the other Generations style lines I think he works well enough.
I like to look at him as more a animated version given his vehicle, and the back piece reminding me of his kibble, but I can still see prime Bulkhead having this form. And I want to pose him next to earthrise Bumblebee. One thing I’m curious about though, how are they picking which characters to make? Cause it almost seems like they’re choosing characters who don’t exactly have a G1 counterpart. With Arcee being the exception because she looks completely different to her G1 version, but I doubt we’d get ratchet, Bee or Prime since they are G1
Gotta love the fact that TJ complaind about the canopy coming off even, though you don't need to remove it nor, puts it back on that spot for robot mode. Also, complaining about the "fake" wheels even though that type of truck has spare wheels located exactly where those "fakes" are in truck mode...
Honestly see a bit of prime and animated bulkhead also age of extinction hound in this makes it feel like it’s not just what if bulkhead was actually g1 and more of best features of the major incarnations of the character just with a g1 style to it
@@IrishKyokushin not to mention when you leave the riot shield on the back the flaps kinda gives off the over the shoulder for lack of a better word kibble that animate bulkhead had
I have this figure, only because it came on April 7 instead of May 4, and he has been one of my favorite Transformers since I got him. I love the thought that Bulkhead went to the gym during his 8 years of absence.
5:56 - The best way to get his heels out is to tab his feet entirely into the tailgate. Tabs on the tailgate will hold the heel in place while you fold out the toe.
having no emotional attachment to the character, I absolutely love that figure. I'm not a fan of the whole cab being painted transparent plastic though, I'm surprised TJ didn't point that out.
For an easier time with the heels, you see that slot in the heels, well that slot actually plugs into the back of the vehicle mode and will pull the heels out when transforming to robot mode.
If you mount the energon gun the "right-side-up", it faces forward more. Also it can peg onto either side. I've found on mine that his left is a tighter fit but both work well.
the tires behind the cab are real-world accurate, they're spares the canopy can stay attached during transformation, it forms back kibble in a similar vein to his animated design "why would an alien robot need a nose?" why would an alien robot need a mouth? or two eyes? or only two legs? or a brow? see the issue here?
hunting down these damn legacy toys in the great white north has been nothing but an exercise in frustration. I found a black zarak on sale before I found a legacy figure.
press the heel back have it peg in then flip the feet down and there you go . Don't have to fiddle with the heel, and yeah like many pointed out the canopy can stay attached. It's not difficult have it stay on , I always transform mine that way.
I’ve heard from the man who designed him to begin with on Instagram that this figure wasn’t actually intended to be Rime Bulkhead but rather an legit new bulkhead that exists in the G1 universe. It’s just that the marketing team called him Prime universe Bulkhead to gather more sales. So yeah there’s your explanation on why Prime Bulkhead in Legacy doesn’t really resemble what he’s suppose to represent
He's very blocky but I like that about him I never got the original prime figure so I wouldn't mind getting this one I really like the mace weapon great review TJ!
I love this figure probably my favorite in wave 1 I'm fine with it being bulkhead since I got the orginal 1 from energon and it's completely different then the rest of them
I think it's the bayverse Hound situation all over again. Hound clearly looks like Bulkhead, but for some reason, he wasn't called that. Now, this vehicle mode clearly looks like bayverse Hound.....
I kind of like this design better, actually. The proportions just look more streamlined to me and I was never a fan of that round ball design he's had previously.
I feel like people would so averse to this figure if he wasn't marketed as Prime Universe Bulkhead. Cause calling him Prime comes with expectations for him to look a specific way that matches his actual animation model in that cartoon. But if you ignore that this is suppose to be Prime... some how... this is a perfectly good Bulkhead. I actually really like this design as a G1 Bulkhead. The only issue I have with this figure is just in calling him Prime because that's not what this is. It's a completely different Bulkhead. And also Price because $30 for Deluxe figures now.
Harsh reaction aside, if they'd just retool the head a little bit to better resemble Animated Bulkhead, this would've been barely passable given the fact both TFA Bulk and Legacy bulk turn into a 6-wheeled truck. As is, the fact they labled this as Prime Bulkhead is the very reason why this toy sucks so much in my opinion. Besides being so dang boxy thanks to being redesigned to look more G1, this figure has a completely wrong vehicle mode, as TFP Bulk was a rather large 4-wheeled SUV of some sort.
Really not a fan of this figure tbh. As lots of people have pointed out, he could've p easily passed for a completely new character if he didn't have the chin and the wrecking ball, it's just so un-Bulkhead. Just really doesn't feel like it carries the spirit of the character all that well, and I hope future toys are allowed to stay closer to their original art styles instead of being forced so heavily to fit a mold they just don't.
Yet another "geewunized" figure. The lack of faith hasbro has in its other series is horrible. For a "legacy" line the seem to continually only focus on g1, save for titan metroplex.
How hard is it for people to grasp the concept that TFs can have their looks changed between appearances and still be the same character? Shouldn't be too hard as that's what happened with Armada/Energon and BW/BM And almost with BW as Primal and Megatron were planned to just be G1 Prime and Megs in *new bodies!* Hasbro says it's still Prime Bulkhead? Fine by me. He just has a new body and alt mode. Saying "it's not Prime Bulkhead" simply because he looks different is not a good argument.

the tires behind the cab are actually accurate to the vehile mode. They are spares in case of flats

Actually the fake tire placement are a realistic place for spare tires

If you peg the shield onto the back of him it makes him looks my Bulkhead-y. It adds those "wings" he had in animated.
6:32 mate, it isnt bc the heels too Stif, you just didnt push in the foot properly into the tab

You're one of the few people I've seen put that riot shield on him the right way instead of just sticking the tarp on his arm. Awesome.
You’re literally speaking my mind with this figure! Lol
I just tried putting a minycon on those ports and yeah they fit very snugly might I add
Bulkhead's legacy is to get turned geewunized. Wreck in peace.
We never got a G1 Bulkhead figure, so I think it’s good. Plus, he looks great with the other Generations figures.
I can’t believe they finally released a rectangle with legs!
Never seen anything like it
Definitely picking him up. He’ll look great next to revel the shield Lugnut

I've seen quite a few Bulkheads at the local Walmart
Honestly, I don’t see this as “Prime Bulkhead” as much as a concept of what a “G1 Bulkhead” would look like from the Prime/Animated design.
"The back is open for easy access" and "there's some exposed thigh"...is this a transformer or a prodtitute?
I should've guessed everyone would also point out the canopy. Whatever, it's not like you hate the figure.. RIP your inbox I guess haha

"... without stealing them from China."
It's Vietnam, tho. But I laughed because I know what (and who) you're referring to.
Awh, not a Plastic Addict victim.
I kind of like this design better, actually. The proportions just look more streamlined to me and I was never a fan of that round ball design he's had previously.

Those expectations were inaccurate expectations that people placed on the figure based on their own interpretation of the term.
Too late, I’m taking all the context.
He's a great figure but I wish he was a darker shade of green
Seriously need to get over figures not looking like the originals.

This is not Prime Bulkhead.
So, if I understand you correctly, 2:12 and 6:24
