I'm amazed that the roof is still intact. I've never seen an exposed ancient building with an intact roof. Even cliff dwelling with overhead protection rarely have intact roofs. Could this be something constructed in the last century?

They made ladders ... LOL . It is a watch tower . Native people took other native people as slaves .....

Had to be some kind of ladder. that would make it not as difficult to carry building supplies, food and other items to the top. Then pull ladder up for no ground access. Or a hemp rope and wood type ladder. Maybe the hemp and wood ladder is still in the hut

Maybe a ladder? Not that mind blowing. Go to any of the cliff dwellings that you can actually visit and they used ladders.

Not sure where you are, but my grandfather was born on a ranch in Colorado (1891). There were ruins and one lookout tower similar to this. They may have used a log as a ladder, breaking off limbs on either side to create the rungs of a ladder.

Possibly the hand and foot holds were weathered away? I t has been 600 years since they built it.

Why build it up there if your enemy can then just climb up? I will guarantee that they used ladders just like mist if the other ancient sites that were not 100 feet off the ground. Not sure why so many people are dumbfounded by this.

I am of the inclination that if this was built 500 or 1000 years ago at the most recent, then the erosion on that rock would have been far less and the soil level was probably much higher - so it would have been easier to get up there like walking up a hill vs how it looks now as a sheer cliff.

They had ladders and ropes. It's not magic.

But also to perhaps carry those rocks up there. Could so many of those rocks have been loose lying up there?

Afraid of the Aztecs who made slaves of the people that where called Den Hi . Den Hi name came from the peoples from the Mississippian valley that came to the Four Corner area through migration and the peublo peoples built their homes of mud on the flat areas and the other were cliff dwellers . The Aztecs used the Chaco canyon dwellings there for a place to hold and sometimes eat the Den Hi peoples held in slavery . The Anasazi came from Mexico area they were offshoots of the Aztec. They gave the name Navajo to the Den Hi .
