We used to cycle from barmulloch out past the well during late 70s early 80s. The Wallace’s well granite stone was there then, all them houses are relatively new, as it was farm land all the way back to the old abandoned hospital site, which had been demolished for some time. Aye Martin , it looks like you were reprising what we did in the '50's.I went back out there in 2013 and was quite pleased to see that the wall had been repaired and there was some attempt made to inform visitors about the history of the place including the monument . I notice too that Roger Griffith has posted a recent video which shows that my question about the Well being in somebody's garden hasn't yet quite materialised. I like to think that our contributions on here had something to do with the powers that be taking appropriate action.

It’s with humorous pride that I can say growing up in what was known in my time (the 70s & 80s) as the posh end of barmulloch, was a great time with very fond memories.
