Currently, the duration of stay is of maximum 30 days for e-visa. If you wish to stay longer than 30 days, you have to exit and apply for a new visa to come back Vietnam.

They are saying my name is wrong. I have a middle name but there is no middle name spot. Do i put it after the first name or before the last name? Or after the last name because thats how Vietnam does it. They need to have a space for the middle name.

The visa process for Vietnam is ridiculously complicated and the website clunky. If your credit card doesn't go through at the end, you have to start all over again. It's insane.
Hello and thanks for this valuable information for obtaining an e-visa for entry to Vietnam as tourists from the USA. I understand that you can apply for a visa as far ahead in advance prior to the visit. But my question is: We will be arriving in Vietnam by cruise ship and will be on the cruise ship the whole time for 5 days while visiting 4 ports in Vietnam. Can we put the name of the cruise for address since it is a required field on the visa application?

Thank you for the information. I'm a US citizen and planing to travel to Danang first for few days then travel to HCMC for few days, so my entry point should be Danang right? The single entry Evisa should work and I can use the evisa to travel from danang to HCMC?
Yes, e-visa is issued at your first arrival airport of Vietnam. As long as you just travel within Vietnam, single entry will work.

Hi thank you for the information. Is it necessary to provide an onward ticket upon arrival to enter Vietnam?
An onwards flight is not required to enter Vietnam. But sometimes your airlines will ask you to show a departing ticket out of Vietnam
My wife and I are taking a cruise and the ship will port in Hanoi, Hue/Danang, Ho Chi Minh. Everything I have read about getting an evisa tells me that it is okay to use in Hue/Danang and Ho Chi Minh but Hanoi does not except an evisa. Is that correct? Thanks for any help you can give us, we are excited to visit Vietnam. Total time in Vietnam would be 2 days in Hanoi and one day in Hue/Danang and Ho Chi Minh. Dates would be Dec 12th and 13th in Hanoi, Dec 14th in Hue/Danang and Dec 16th in Ho Chi Minh.

Yes, as a Us citizen you can easily apply for Vietnam e-visa which is good for 30 days with single entry

Evisa cant be extended, if you want to prolong your stay in Vietnam you can apply for a new visa again. The longest duration is 90 days. In case you’re planning to go back Vietnam soon you should apply for multiple entry.

Hi, thanks for the information you've provided. I booked a flight from the US to Vietnam this coming month. I will be staying in Vietnam for 2 weeks and heading to the neighbor country for 3 weeks, by the time I enter Vietnam and to the US, my visa will be expired. Just to carify, I will need to re-apply for another e-visa right? When should I expect to re-apply? Is the mutiple entry available for tourist as well or just for business?
In case you want to go back Vietnam, you need to apply for a new visa (if your current visa expires) You can even submit a new e-visa while you are in Vietnam. Multiple entry is still available for tourist visa.

I stuck in unique case, i am travelling in Vietnam at 24th aug. I have already got visa but in passport, given names has mine name(first name) + my father name, in ICAO line it also have surname+ mine name + father name. So based on the website i added the same format in evisa and it got approved as well. Now, boarding pass will only have surname and first name and visa will have full name so it will create any conflict?
I have also uploaded my passport pic in new portal, its also taking given name as first name+ father name so there will be any issue?

I think that for e-visa it's better to submit at least 2 weeks ahead of arrival date to Vietnam. Actually you can apply for e-visa as far as you want as long as your trip is well-planned

To visit both places you just need a single entry.

Definitely you can. Actually, there is no limitation on a number of times you can re-enter.

..You can come back the next day and there will not be any issue at the airport immigration desk. Also can I extend my stay instead of having to exit Vietnam again? Thanks in advance

Last year I visited Vietnam on an eVisa but developed a serious eye problem that required urgent treatment at a very good international eye hospital in Hanoi. If the problem had been worse it might have required an operation that would have prohibited air travel for at least one month. Would you have been able to help to extend the visa in that sort of situation?
Currently we cant do extension on tourist visa. the maximum of stay is 30 days for tourist visa and 90 days for business visa. However, it seems that the Vietnam Government is considering to open up 3 months for e-visa soon. Hopefully the government will get it approved in 1 or 2 months.

My last name is "Montero-Julian". The evisa form doesn't allow for "-" hyphens in the last name section. My passport has a < instead of the "-".. What do I put for my last name?

Your name order can be written as per the ICAO line on your passport OR as per the first/middle/last name as indicated in the visa application form. Both ways are accepted as long as all your names on e-visa are fully shown on your passport.

If you overstay for just few days in Vietnam, you will need to pay overstaying fee at the airport when you leave Vietnam

Vietkieu have privileges 5years visas no questions ask. I am American with viet decent, I have to send in my parent passport to prove to them that my parent is Vietnamese , they gave us 5 years visas.

Once your visa is issued, there is no way to correct it. In this case, unfortunately, you have to apply for a new visa.

Update! I'm on my 3rd visa attempt and all 3 are coming back with mistakes! I diligently look over each of my applications, yet something is always wrong. This will definitely hinder me on my decision to recommend travels to Vietnam or the site. So inconvenient and such a headache

For evisa, there is just a small stamp put on your passport, not like a full visa stamp.
So if ivwanted to fly in for six or eight weeks there is no way to getva visa for that long? Only 30 days then I need to leave them come back and reapply? That really makes buying plane tickets and booking accommodations difficult.

Hi, I did the e-visa application and got Reg code. When I checked the code, I needed to do an edit due to my mistake. I did this and reentered the visa. Checked it a couple of days later and it said it was pending; however, when I checked it again after three days, it said "Not Found." Does this mean it was denied? Not sure if I should wait or start another application.

Can British passport holders arrive in Vietnam without a visa and stay 15 days? Is there anything I should know regarding this?
Yes it is right. All you need to bring is your passport which should be valid at least 6 months. Be also noted that some airlines may ask a round trip ticket as well.

If he has his own passport, you need to apply a separate visa for him.

The e-visa website seems to not work. I've attempted payment 3 times with multiple cards and every time "payment failed". I checked with the credit card company and they have no record of an attempted payment. Any advice for this? My flight's June 17.

Your evisa is issued at your first arrival entry. If you are traveling to Đà Nẵng via Ho Chi Minh airport, your evisa is granted at HCM airport.

You have to exit Vietnam the same port of entry in your visa application
Hi. Is it mandatory to enter Vietnam at the port quoted in eVisa application or it may be any port from the list of ports that support eVisa facility.
Under the new format of e-visa, it doesnt show the name of entry port in Vietnam any more, which means that you can enter any port that accepts e-visa.

To me it is logical to acquire it only after (if) getting visa ? In that case answer would be "No", but then should it pose problem for granting visa ?

I Ask for a Vietnam visa,
After i decided to visit
Cambodia and i payed 30dollars there.
When i return 2 days latter to vietnam by plane with Cambodia Angkor air line, they said i couldn't go back to Vietnam because my Vietnam visa was SINGLE visa.
So i missed my flight, my hotel and trips in vietnam.
After i had to stay there and payed 150Dollars Fee.
When i arrived in Vietnam nobody ask me for the visa.
I saw tourists that didn't show the visa.
Please can you explain why Cambodja Angkor airline charge more 150 dollars????
I fell so sad because i was travelling alone and i had to came back to cambodia in the middle of the night to find a hotel to stay.
They said i could go back only the day i have my returning plane ticket, and i couldn't go out from the airport.
Every day i think about this situation and make me sad.
This air line Cambodja Angkor airline were correct with me?
Or i was another victim to pay a fee???
You neglected to mention that the Government website as recommended by you in this video is so bad as to almost be unusable. It’s like the internet but in the 1990’s. Also that being issued a eVisa that has single one character mistake e.g. a 6 instead of a 5 leads to you being refused entry and all the fun that goes along with that. Yes I was issued a visa and refused entry. Had I not been meeting people in Vietnam I would not have gone as it is I will never go back and I will never recommend travelling to Vietnam.
I’m so sorry to hear about what you’ve encountered with Vietnam e-visa. I agree with you that there are still a lot of features need to be upgraded on the immigration website. However, it’s still the official link for applying Vietnam e-visa. I hope that the website will soon be improved to be more friendly and efficient with applicants.

Your photo should 4x6cm in size, however, it’s not quite strict on it as long as it’s a clear photo with a white/plain background.

Currently the maximum stay is 30 days for e-visa. 3 month visa will be resumed since 15th August. If you are planning to visit after that, you should wait to see if you’re entitled to 3 month visa.
I am traveling to Vietnam this Sunday on July 2nd. But I will only be there to transit. Since I'm flying in on one airline and departing in on another, I believe I need a transit Visa. How do I go about doing that? There is not much information online. Side note I have a US Passport. I will only be in Vietnam for a maximum of 5 hours.
As a us citizen you can apply for evisa for the transit purpose. Please visit the official link for evisa that I already put it in the description of video.

@@wedeekao6499 it normally takes 4-5 business days to receive evisa. Saturday and Sunday don’t count as business days.

@@htt434 that means it's about 5.30pm Vietnam time, I think you will need it to be ready at least 1 -2 hours ahead for doing check in at your airport. I am not sure if your visa can come on time with normal processing time.

Yes you can enter through any entry port that is accepted for evisa.

You just leave the surname box blank since you have no surname on your passport.
In case i get rejected will it effect my future visa applications ?
It really depends on the reason why you are rejected. For example, you can banned to enter Vietnam up to 5 years if your name is on the blacklist

As long as your visa is valid, you can still enter Vietnam without needing to apply again

Hi, on the visa application the full name is little confused the example they provided is in reverse order surname and then given name so can u clarify on this by seeing your application
Regarding the name order on your visa application, you can write first/middle/last name or follow the order name as shown on the ICAO line in your passport. Both ways are accepted.
