All 4 of your designs are beautiful. I particularly love Landscape and am glad you are going to explore more of that type of design. The one that really took my breath away was your red and gold canvas adaptation. You are SO talented in combining multi fibers and dimensions- I really think you have a genius knack for canvas work! I can’t wait to see the finished product with all the beads. Your designing is growing by leaps and bounds and getting better all the time. Keep it up, Arlene! You really are becoming a super talent in stitchy designs- congratulations on more beautiful work!
I always watch and rarely comment. But this time I just had to tell you how amazing the red/gold canvas piece is! Can't wait to see it finished with the beads. I should also add that I love most of your patterns, they are original and inspired!
LOVE your Market releases! I definitely need the lace on and on purple fabric❤️. You really have such a unique eye for designing. Not like anyone else! 💕Michele
Hi Arlene I can remember your first video. I'm so happy you've continued. I like all 4 of your Nashville pieces with the lace being my favorite, then Italian tiles and a tie for the last two. I like stitching words but my eye is also drawn to color and I'm a sucker for color shading and the gradual expansion. You explain everything in such an easy going pleasant way. I enjoy all the historical back ground. I did needlepoint before counted cross stitch and actually started with a stamped cross stitch piece and then went on to embroidery before discovering the wonderful world of needlepoint tapestries . I love counted cross stitch because at times it almost looks like painting. And all of the diversity !! I'm an old fan of Erica Wilson. I hope you have an enjoyable experience at Nashville. Your creative talent and knowledge is so greatly appreciated - and - very inspiring.
I love all four of your designs! I really like lace and landscape. I like repetitive designs that I can do while watching TV. The use of thread counts to make the lace design is awesome, great for those of us that mostly use DMC.
Beautiful designs! No need to be nervous. You are so creative and your designs are stunning. Have so much fun at Nashville. I wish you much success! ❤️
I really loved your new designs! I think they are so unique, and I love the historical aspect of them. And what a beautiful canvas work with the bright red and gold! The colours so much reminds me of Christmas
I sincerely enjoy your Floss tube videos, presence on Fiber talk and more importantly your designs and stitches. I particularly enjoy the history of pieces and your thought process in developing designs. I have been looking for a couple of projects I can stitch during lunch break at work. Two of your new designs- Italian Tile and Landscape are perfect. Enjoy market🌺
I love all your new releases but my favorite is Landscape. I am looking forward to seeing the other(s) in the series. Good luck in Nashville, you deserve the best.
Beautiful just doesn’t cover the beautiful stitching you have shown here today. I have a great fondness for lace. I studied a bit of bobbin lace many years ago and see my self stitching your lave designs. Good luck at the market and hope you put your stuff out there next year. Thank you for the visit.
I adore your lace inspired cross stitch! I don’t have a LNS within 100 miles, so I will be hitting your Etsy shop directly following the Nashville Market. I think to tide me over I will search out and purchase the “Just Cross Stitch” magazine from August! Enjoy Market. I have a feeling you are going to be quite successful in your creative endeavors! 🤩
Welcome back, Arlene! You have been busy. Wow - the Nashville Needlework Market! It sounds like an amazing opportunity in your journey as a designer. I am looking forward to adding "Floral Lace" to my Works by ABC collection when it becomes available for purchase on your Etsy store. I am still rocking my Antioch motif patterns. Safe travels.
I thought whatever the sneak peek with red turned out to be, that would be my favorite Market release....but that landscape!!! And the words🤩🤩! But the red canvas piece you’re working is AH-MAZING. I loved all the colors the designer used but the red and gold is so striking. Happy Market Days!
Very unusual pieces, I love the lace, the tile and the landscape. Particularly the landscape is quite clever, I love it! I’ve just came across your channel, just checked out your Etsy shop and of course, ordered a few patterns.
My teenage son will be graduating high school in May, and I think Rules for Life is the perfect design to give him as a gift. I don't think I'll be able to finish it in time, but at least I can maybe have it done before he finishes college. Love the lace design too!!!
You have a great eye for color... the red piece is amazing, but my favorite is, for sure, the "repetitive" piece for Nashville. And easy to frame too! I wish you all the luck at market! Happy stitching Paula
beautiful designs! Love that landscape concept! And the red and gold piece you are working on is amazing!! You will have such a fantastic time at Market. Please stop in to room 317, I will be there (Just Stitching Along) along with Hands Across the Sea Samplers and Gentle Pursuit Designs. If you have any questions you can reach out on Instagram. It is a LOT of fun and to see everything that is new and meet all the vendors that make the linens and threads it is like being a kid in a candy shop! See you in Nashville!
The conversion you made in red and gold is stunning! I wonder if you could share your conversion somehow? I’m hopeless at being creative and changing stuff, I can only follow others.
In all honesty, I didn't write down anything, just made decisions as I went. So, I really don't have an easy way to share my conversation. If you want to know more about the threads I used and at least some of the decisions I made, please email me at worksbyabc@gmail.com
Arlene, thanks for that information about the fabric count for your design Landscape. I plant to purchase the PDF when it comes out in your online store.

Amazing work Arlene! I'm so proud of you!! And I'm so excited for you for your trip to Nashville! I love what you did with that hill scene and the repetitive symbol in the different colors. So different and cool! That's one of those designs that makes even non-stitchers go oooohhh ahhhhh. I can't wait to hear what you think of the whole market experience! Hugs to Maddie!
