This off season all or MOST of the HBCU Coaches should get together , such as the owners of the NFL teams and strategize !! Leave the egos at the door and try to find common ground to help each other so all HBCU can rise together !!!--Hopefully Coach Prime could spearhead this effort !!!

The HBCU programs lack alumni support $$$ and full fiscal accountability for its sports programs. Address those two issues, and the ability to compete and recruit OUR kids will reverse the trend started in the seventies when PWI’s diverted the HBCU talent base to their cash flush Flagship schools.

For all of you saying this was about money dont be so simplistic it is about other things NOT money. In case yall didnt know there have been lots of changes at gram since gallot took over as prez. trust me money is one of his number one things. alumni contributions are way up as well as changes in many other areas that bring even more money to the football program as well as the school as a whole. Fobbs did himself in he did something that was stupid plain and simple then on top of that started losing like hell???? no sir time to go good riddens and this is from a die hard active alumni who knew what the damn deal was going into this season. if he didnt see the writing on the wall he BLIND. had he been winning they probably would have let him slide since he alumni....but naw you gon meet the fate of doug...you playing games you going home period.

The difference between some coaches and coaches like Coach Prime and Coach Saban is that their expectations for what they want the vision of their football teams to be has all exceeded what some of the other swac coaches could barely even imagine or comprehend. You have to be equipped with a calling and the tools to uplift not only a football team but a city up out of the trenches and until these other swac coaches understand that, hbcu football wont be able to rise to the next level. Now Coach Prime can do a lot but he can't do everything.

No other coach in the swac has come anywhere close to what deion even started in the swac let alone accomplished so far and im just talking outside of football man please. He doesnt have 8 rings yet but in his 1st year he's already making HBCU football history and as long as he's there he will get 8 rings lets be clear. Uh Ooh, is GSU joining the NFL Legend for coach sweepstakes. You know Marshall Faulk was in talks with SU about a HC position early this year, he is from the boot, SU didn't pull the trigger and give him a shot to bring his IMMENSE amount of football knowledge on board, maybe Grambling will, i said MAYBE! so dont come for me all you anti NFL legend swac fans.

The issue with Marshall was that he had no coaching experience. He does however have ties to Grambling. His former high school teammate was a starter at Grambling. Jeff Celestand, and Jeff is coaching now as well. So, I’m sure if Marshall assembles a staff, it will include Jeff. But, whoever the next coach is, they’ll need to recruit better than the last staff and start by recruiting the transfer portal to get on track sooner.

@@FunkyD50 REAL TALK i feel you on the experience but i also happen to think that the 1x MVP 3xOPY, ROTY, 7xPROBOWLER , 1x NFL TD LEADER ,who learned and remembers 1 of the most complex playbooks ever for a offense called "The Greatest Show On Turff" walks on a head coaching job and performance like a natural.
Besides all the experience talk im looking at this from a financial aspect as well, you know what happens if GSU signs Marshall , a instant STIMULUS package happens, you get Doug Williams , Kurt Warner, Issac Bruce showing up to the press conference showing support, more importantly cutting a donation check before they bounce, you get random guys like Ram HOFer Orlando Pace popping up at GSU practices giving donations and showing love. GSU gets more sponsors , if you dont believe me go look at JSU list of sponsors they up to like 25 sponsors they cashing checks, you get people like Dick Vermeil and John Harbaugh that go on ESPN and talk about how great the hire is & how great the man Marshall Faulk is, YOU GET A STIMULUS PACKAGE AND WE ALL KNOW GSU COULD USE 1.
Let me ask you this, when was the last time GSU made 3+million dollars in 1 day off ticket sells for a home game? well i know when was the last time JSU did, they just did for the Alcorn game 2 days ago and heres the proof ua-cam.com/video/ICCf9hvc0Z8/v-deo.html . I say all that to say hbcu's been sticking to traditional coach hiring procedures for a longtime and haven't really made any advancement doing so, its time to try something new, something no other predominately white schools are doing in the fbs or fcs, and thats giving these black nfl legends who have a desire to coach a shot at motivating your students and turning your program around, i mean really what do they have to loose, they just came of a 4 season loosing streak with a Traditional coach , give Marshall a shot, get those new training facilities you need, get those stadium upgrades you need, GET THAT MONEY BECAUSE JSU SURE IS HERES THE PROOF ua-cam.com/video/ICCf9hvc0Z8/v-deo.html
