Starting to study education and psychology and learning about Bandura, then realizing that he in fact is still around and i can learn directly from him is amazing. Its truly remarkable to get such a chance in life
Bandura is the real psychologist in social learning and through observation. In fact, his approaches are very practical and work. Bobo doll, dramatising, Flooding are some of his work that we use in our foundation. In a society, he suggests that you must make people believe that they can influence and cause change. This guy travelled to Tanzania to build the efficacy and support. Kudos legend...
"I was viewing the advent of television as foreshadowing a future in which the symbolic environment would become much more important than the immediate physical environment." Wow! The history of our society in one sentence.
Did the actual interview really take place in 2013? I'm having a hard time finding additional informationi about this! In 2013 Bandura was 88 years old! And he was still working on a book (btw "moral disengagement" came out in 2015)? Wow.
At 23:21 the prof. says "45 years ago", refereing to the Bobo doll experiement, which took place 1961. Perhaps this video is from around 2006? Just a guess.
I am about to do a podcast on Social Learning Theory of Dr. Bandura... this has helped me understand the 'person' behind the name. HE is 94 now, but I do not know how to get in touch with him. He has been a source of inspiration since the time I got into the field of Learning & Development.
I had never heard of Albert Bandura until I found him in the obituaries pages of the 2022 World Almanac. I was trying to look up actress Lisa Banes and she wasn't in there.
If that degree involved 'reasoning' is required to kill one person, how totally entangled and complex must the thinking be that led to mass killing by way of the atomic bomb?
Interesting video, however, the subtitles are immensely horrible. Someone needs to review the subtitles, please. such as Gustav - "good start bird man"
What a sad loss as of July 2021 ~ yet lived to 95 years...what a wonderful asset to the field of psychology and will be honored forever!

What an interesting life/man. I'd love to see a movie made. I'm sure he had/has so many other stories; I hope he kept journals.
Thank You! for the great Video!

I had never heard of Albert Bandura until I found him in the obituaries pages of the 2022 World Almanac. I was trying to look up actress Lisa Banes and she wasn't in there.
Legendary man.

Olá, Sou brasileira. Gostaria muito poder ter acesso a esse vídeo, porém o mesmo está em outra língua e não está disponível em português .
Alguém iria traduzir pra ti?
Abert bandura is just phenomenal. If he didnt flip through that book left on the library table, someone else would have done the bobo doll experiment
Or not hehe
Certainly no one thought of it before him...
Caution is advised when thinking events work with that kind of determinism.
It demonstrates how unjustifiable capital punishment is that so many acrobatics of moral thinking are required to get people to go through with it.
If that degree involved 'reasoning' is required to kill one person, how totally entangled and complex must the thinking be that led to mass killing by way of the atomic bomb?

'Albert Bandura' - 'A bourbon Dora' XD

The Counselor and 16 Bars Rap Battle League
Given the nature of TV shows such as Strange Things, is it any wonder that the media/Hollywood want undermine this man?

Mama a-Mia!
He lost me with the overpopulation horse sh*t. He's just another secular humanist.
what do you mean there will be a void diversity.
Unwilling this guy gave the public the formula on human development. This kind of knowledge is extremely dangerous and easily manipulated.
Am I the only one who thinks Mister Albert's looks kinda weird, by just starin' at the host ? :p
I wouldn´t have felt comfortable with that kind of introduction. Something more realistic would be better.
Sorry, why are you attacking this guy when the US Govt and media puts out far more indoctrination, dis-information and outright lies?
