3:10 "but if you want to comfortably overclock..." - I thought that overclocking was moot on zen 2 since these chips perform close to their limits already (or even barely reach their advertised frequencies), that the minute actual performance increase is generally not worth the power draw/temp increase, and that the best thing to do was to provide them with enough cooling for them to hit their advertised frequencies when they can. One issue I've come across is with Asus Strix X570 ITX board and the 5700 XT in a Louqe Ghost S1 or Dan A4-SFX. The riser cables in these cases are Gen3. Putting a 5700 XT in a build with these components causes Windows 10 to crash. Unfortunately Gen4 riser cables from 3rd parties or the case manufacturers are not available (next revision of the Dan A4-SFX will include Gen4 riser cables).

Putting a 5700 XT in a build with these components causes Windows 10 to crash. The fix I've found is to use the Gigabyte X570 ITX motherboard, it allows you to go into the bios and switch the PCIe from Gen4 to Gen3, this feature I have been unable to find in the bios on the Asus X570 board. Unfortunately Gen4 riser cables from 3rd parties or the case manufacturers are not available (next revision of the Dan A4-SFX will include Gen4 riser cables).
i use the reeven steropes cooler. you have to get an am4 bracket separately, but it cools great.
Just watched about 6 vids you made. All of them excellent!!!! So glad you take the time to create this channel. THANKYOU
Big shuriken 3 with noctua fan is actually better than noctua and black ridge that you have mentioned in terms of temperature.
What about an ITX HTPC build. Brings a little different angle on things.
I learned pretty recently that the noctua black chromax low profile fan does not have support for the AM4 socket yet! The separate mounting bracket you buy doesn't fit!
The fact that my man doesn't have 1 million subs is criminal.
Ever heard of a mini-ITX case such as the Velka 5 or the Dan A4-SFX with a 3.5" drive slot and support for 115mm large GPUs?
I say again, you should really take a look at the Sharkoon QB One ITX case. It can really take some serious hardware inside and still be small and cool.
Went with X570 I Aorus and NZXT H210 on this black friday since local retailers doesn't have much options on mITX components.
Love the content. Thank you. Keep up the awesome work
Always love the video
Please keep making sff content for next year too
Thank you for your videos!
It would be great to see Ryzen 9 3950x ITX setup (PSU, air/water cooling, case, motherboard).
I think many viewers waiting for it now.
I got the gigabyte b350 itx with my ryzen 1700x (second priority, hobby itx build)
I got the gig b350 because of the 8 USB ports on the IO panel and at a stellar price of $89 new on ebay
@Optimum Tech, the Silverstone Fortress FTZ01 (non-E) is a much better SFX ITX case than the Node 202. I'd love to see you review it. It fits the Noctua NH-L12S no problem and has thermals rivaling the NCASE M1! Excellent production as always.
It would be awesome if you made a video explaining the different GPU form factors, some people confuses dual slot with length and half height with the thickness etc!
This video goes well with drinking beer.
Agreed, the AMD side needs to make a nano 5700 xt asap.
