Back in Romania we used to live the same life as you describe about the people in the Blue Zones. No fridge so we cooked and ate everything fresh, we killed a chicken or a goose from our yard sometimes so we could have some meat less than once a week. Our animals did not have names, I am glad about that.
I often say to people that italians' basic food is pasta, asians' rice, our basic food was and still is beans, cabbage and potatoes but Western diet have meat as basic. No meal without meat.
More than 30 years living in Australia I actually eat the same and do classes at the gym 3 to 5 days a week.
People think I am a lot younger. I travel a lot and I don t smoke or drink.
But I don't know why people in Romania were dying quite young. The oldest were in their early 60s.
I look after old people in Australia and most of them are around 95 but I also had an 101 y old client, English man who lived with a pace maker for 30 years and the oldest was a 103 y old lady who was looked after by her two daughters in their 80s. I only went there when the daughters had to go to appointments.
    Thank you for your work
    🙏
