You should have people tell a story. Like ask what’s the weirdest thing to ever happen to them on tour or while playing. Or their most bonkers drug experience. Or if they’ve had a supernatural experience.

@tcdnb one thing I wanted to mention, on Serum are you aware of the chaos generators in the global tab? they are random and can be applied to say the oscillators fine pitch to simulate the oscillator pitch drift on analogue synths. Notice you seem to like Vital for having a random generator that’s all

I’m also experimenting with my old samplers, an Akai S3000XL and an Emu ultra E6400, takes ages to do anything but the results are worth it! 😍

@@tcdnb yeah! The sound is awesome! I purchased an old Mackie desk too (thank you eBay) just to run it through and get a bit of that oldskool overdriven sound! It’s great, gives it that little something extra 😎

Look into SCSI2SD for the s5000. It's the best solution I've found. You can transfer samples via SD card and save them to it and even transfer via USB from a new generation pc 🙂
I just got scsi2sd for my emu and it is amazing! the USB option is sick for the AKAI though not sure I will need scsi2sd for it now, MASSIVE BIGUPS!!!! I really appreciate you taking the time to leave this comment, it means alot to me!🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺

Deleted files are never gone for good they are marked as a freespace on your drive, if new files are required to go into those spaces the old file coding is rewritten. This is what I was told by a computer geek recently, sounded good to me 😆

The "dots and lines" in the zoom of a wave I think you would call "Ticks" from what I remember ticks are the points. You can increse ticks in a daw to add more "natural" curves etc but its not an area I have looked at in detail. I might be wrong though
Its like the ticks are the actual data points in the data flow, the more ticks you have the smoother the curves are but you increse the data storage requirments for all the extra ticks :D Thats the best way I can explain it from what I remember
Erica Synths Fusion VCF v3 is a valve filter for eurorack worth looking into

Simulacra EP by Crosspolar came out on floppy disc in February. Think it was full tracks rather than midi / one-shots though.

Deckards Dream gets talked about a lot as a CS-80ish thing and the randomisation on the Hydra is mad. Each section of the synth (filter/osc/envelopes etc.) has a separate randomise function and you can set the amount from 0-100%. Great for adapting sounds you like the vibe of

Love the enthusiasm for back to the roots workflow and vibes TC! I had an s6000 once, beastly sampler. Always seem to get timing issues with 16th note triggering my samplers though, as if random notes get swung. Jitter, I reckon. Less of a problem at slower tempos and with the s3000i but still too much and the Emu (e64) struggles. Any tips? Using a Unitor8 with Logic, which should be a decent combo...
I think separate outputs for the midi is the key! I just bought an AMT8 8 channel midi interface looking forward to seeing if this works :) wish me luck
@@tcdnb The AMT8 is Unitor8's lil bro :) They are basically the same except for some extra bells and whistles on the Unitor. If you run into issues getting your AMT to work, hit me up as I've got my Unitor working fine with Big Sur. Required a bit of trickery though!

With regards to using old hardware, not 100% sure if you are aware of SysX?
You can record SysX in the DAW and "play it back" to the hardware to set various controls, it can take away some of the pain of using external hardware :)
Most hardware is able to do a "SysX Dump" which you can record in the DAW

apple users always complain and thats why i stick with windows its cheaper for me to build a pc and its more compatible for certain software
