I’m an old person and I can look up hospitals and doctors on my own. This apartment was lovely, and I could see myself hanging out quite happily at that bar.
I was born and raised in Sulmona, which is just near to Pettorano. Lots of memories still alive in my mind about this magic village in the middle of the mountains. I spent many summers in "Il Chiosco", a beautiful bar/restaurant down the village, I can still breath that fresh clean air and drink that pure water from the fountains. Now I happily live in Essex with my other half, but we always think about getting a small apartment in my childhood places one day. I can't believe how lucky I was to be able to enjoy those places for so many years.
Ciao Dave, I think a lot of people want to know about Dr's and hospitals and dentists, because they may be looking for retirement. If on vacation, expecting the unexpected, a cold, broken leg. (lol) a healthy life is a happy life, on the other hand, one does have to drink and eat. The place has good potential, it is very cute and cozy. The town is very lovely, and the views are stunning. Nice find loved it.
WOW, this town and property are amazing!! I would be seating outside that bar, when the weather is nice, enjoying that view while having my afternoon tea/coffee....I felt my body melting when you showed that square with the outdoor tables....
I wish this were available in 10 years when I retire, I would buy it instantly - upstairs the smaller bedroom would be my office/library, and downstairs I would have the couch be a couch/bed converter for visitors. Perfect size for just me, and I love the views from that town and that restaurant, which I would eat at at least twice a week year round. :=8)
Very nice! A little rearranging of the lower level will make this place quite cozy for a single person or couple! Thanks! And PS. Thanks for pointing out the views, bars and restaurants!😊
The views are stunning! The property is quite nice as well! I could see something like this as a retirement home for me and my wife. I'm not too keen on the spiral staircase...I'd close off the balcony door from the kitchen for a kitchen remodel; adding some more cabinets as well as remodel of the bathroom; utilizing the space where that tiny washing machine is located. And although I despise seeing a washing machine in the kitchen, which I realize is common in Europe, that would be the best place for one in this home with a nice kitchen and bath remodel.
I agree the kitchen needs some additional cupboards, but moving the washer to the kitchen doesn't appeal. That means hauling laundry up and down stairs.
Truly lovely, could be tempted, me I would embrace fully life in a quiet Italian village, I do not want XYZ just stunning nature & authenticity and peace and quiet. If you want more pay more and go to a city.
It is a beautiful property without a doubt. Sadly here in the US not even in my dreams, incredible to think of acquiring a property of that caliber for that amount of money.
How active is this region for earthquakes? Beautiful fountain and sundial. As for the bedrooms I would do a faux ceiling by just painting the details on it instead of doing all of the striping out of plaster. This is a beautiful property! On a humorous note, I can imagine someone walking into most every Italian property and the first thing they see is the kitchen and they are firm believers in the concept of Feng Shui. They have to realize the the Italian social concept is based on family and food. So let’s consider this as Feng Shui ala Italaiano!
Adorable place! Less than two hours' drive from my ancestral hometown of Arce in the province of Frosinone, Lazio. Do you ever feature properties in Lazio, south-east of Rome?
I like the house, nice location, but the spiral staircase needs to be replaced especially for elderly people like us. How about Dr's hospitals? are they nearby? Do you need a car or all amenities walkable? The Bathroom, does it have an exhaust fan? do not see any windows? As to your tour really interested in the one in October coming up, Will keep watching for more properties-
You know that spiral staircase gonna get sold and a nice wide staircase going in Easy to put a little something under it like cabinet coffee bar etc. Wine keeper?
I imagine there are plenty of medical providers ten minutes away in the next larger town. I am interested in the cost to buy into the medical felivery system in that part of Italy. 🎉
Wow, what a beautiful village and an amazing little property. I recently heard that Canadians are now restricted from buying property in Italy. Have you heard of this, or will you be talking about this in any of your upcoming Thursday live streams? I just love your channel and can’t wait to see what you have to show us all. Ciao from Canada 🇨🇦
Yes, unfortunately the decision made by the Canadian government to ban foreign buyers for 2 years has meant that Italy has done the same for Canadian buyers. Italy works on reciprocal agreements. 😓
Foreign ownership restrictions on real estate are generally a matter of national policy and are typically implemented based on each country's unique economic and political circumstances. While some countries may have restrictions on foreign ownership of real estate, these policies are not necessarily reciprocal with those in other countries. Do you have a reference that specifically addresses Canadians as I can find none?
Unfortunately, Mr Benton's news and his explanation for the basis for it are both correct. Italian law applies reciprocity automatically without the need for specific new Italian legislation. So there is since January 1, 2023 a general ban on Canadians buying residential property in Italy. At the same time, it follows that the exemptions in the new Canadian law would also apply. For example, foreigners who have, or whose spouses or common law partners have, permanent resident status in Canada, can still buy houses or apartments in Canada. Thus Canadians with Italian resident status, or a spouse or common-law partner with Italian resident status (or Italian citizenship), should not be barred from buying in Italy. Also, purchase agreements that were signed and binding before January 1, 2023 are exempt. Another exemption is a property with 4 or more apartments. A further exemption is properties that require extensive renovation to be habitable. In addition, dual citizens can use their non- Canadian passport to buy residential property in Italy. There is one other important exemption, but I am researching to make sure of it. I will add details shortly. Hope this helps. Mr. Benton may have detailed all this in his online streaming sessions.
please excuse my ignorance. I am a little confused here. I started watching this video about a property in italy for sale , but when i started reading the comments i see people talking about : trades, bigcoin, digital market, and the like. What does a video showing a property for sale in italy has to do with the above? Can someone please explain this? Thanks a lot.
No! You have to remember a number of things. It is winter, it is out of season, it was around 10am when people are at work, kids at school etc etc. I went to one of the most popular tourist towns in Puglia last week and saw a dozen people, it doesn't mean it is deserted. You need to come to underatand how great these places are.
@@AhomeinItaly my grandparents town in Pulia ( chieuti) is empty this time of year. Except for the St. Giorgio festival which is very soon. Then nothing till late may or June . The the beach bars open up and everyone that lives and works in big cities comes back home for summer visits.
very nice property! I was wondering about the kitchen area...where would the fridge be? also, what is the total area of the flat in square meters? thank you!
The question is: what do you do in those little towns? There is a reason why people are leaving and that is: there is a scarce possibility to make enough money to live modestly. Buying a farm is different story. It takes time to cultivate land. Lots of money neede for that too, but at least to are working, creating etc. If you are retired with huge saving account and nice pension than that's totaly different and it makes sence.
Wow Im a classical singer how great to sing there but could not have townhouse because I have to vocalize..Im not bragging I have sung through out Europe
I often find people's ideas of furniture arrangement distracting to the rooms. Id have the dining table near the actual kitchen. Completely reverse the eating and sofa area. Delete that big hutch altogether. A smaller one as you said in that little cave to store wine and glassware. Could be small wine hutch on the left in there and a bar type cart or hutch on back wall of the little cave! Also some people even here shove all furniture against the walls. I'd move sofa away from the wall. Have a little conversation area. View out the window. Not distract from that great ceiling.
"I don't like to think about this part of life...". Well, but Your viewers do. U aren't gonna get younger, so pretty soon U might also start to think about it. ;-) Nice property :)
Lovely. Question why doesn’t the city fix the walls i.e. under arch and in the bar courtyard?? I hate the spiral staircases and there are so many properties with that! Great for younger buyers but not for someone wanted to buy to retire 😢 what are the options to chg stairs and cost? Is the roof new? How about the property with yellow VENDI sign - can you show that one to us? Definitely tight bathroom. What about that BIG wooden door with two steps?? Why didn’t you show us what’s behind that door?
My maternal grandfather, Vincenzo Checca, was born in Pettorano sul Gizio in 1894 and immigrated to the USA in 1910. In 1914, he returned to Italy to fight in the Italian army during WW1 (Don't ask me why.). After the war, my grandfather returned to the USA never to return to Italy. However, BREXIT threw a spanner into my plans. I'm now planning to retire to Argentina.
I get it….. It’s stunning and beautiful but my oh my how insanely dead these places are. Absolutely stone dead something I notice in all the videos you make…..
Keep in mind of the price though. It's quite low. If you want a larger place that's move-in-ready, then obviously it's going to be a lot more expensive.

Is there any kind of car park ? Need to ski Rocoaraso and beaches in the summertime. I'm not sure about the spiral staircase after the bar.
