I think all MPs should have to live for 6/12 months on the State Pension or minimum wage without any extra help and see what it is really like - how do they afford Christmas/birthday presents, holidays after paying rent/mortgage, bills food, travel to work and maybe they may have a better understanding of how difficult it is for many people.
Most of my respectable elderly lady friends said they were voting Leibour but it didn't matter what the manifesto was about and they have no idea who the WEF are (something vague about wild animals?). None of them are commenting on what Starmer etc are doing to our Country. As they all seem to be better off than me, I'm waiting for the protests when their taxes go up and there are more restrictions on car drivers.

A couple of months ago, a road sweeper had a holiday brought for him by his local residents in thanks for the brilliant job he was doing. The council refused to let him take it as it was against the rules. It is the same for many in the Corporate world too. My husband's company's policy was politely decline any offers of tickets/gifts etc from clients - it was a big No No and not worth risking your job over. It was also frowned upon to drink over lunchtime, people stopped drinking when at work years ago and yet the houses of Parliament have bars in them. Time the bars and subsidised restaurants in the House were closed. We all pay for our lunch at work (or take a pack up) MPs can too. If tax payers can't give to the elderly then we need to stop the MPs perks.

In all companies I've worked for, as part of the new starter package I've had to read various company policies which include anti bribary. You are not allowed to accept gifts/perks from clients/customers as it can become a conflict of interest and perceived to be favouritism
