my director chose this song aswell as many other beautiful songs for our select choir because he knew that we would sing it beautifully, im so happy i get to sing it
The piano arrangement makes such a difference. I get teary eyed when I watch the choir at graduation sang this and after the song ended, everyone hugged each other before they went off stage
performing this arrangement in a high school or college ensemble is an experience that genuinely borders on spiritual. being surrounded by the voices of your peers, its like a symbol of generational solidarity and the power of collective action. brings me to tears.
We're learning this in class to perform at a choir festival next week with some other schools. It's so beautiful but very difficult, it is a nice challenge for our choir
My boyfriend is singing this in his honors ensemble and he showed this to me, and I can confidently say that this is the most beautiful song I've ever heard. It's so melodic and saddening, but oh so very beautiful. I may not be able to sing this in my ensemble, but I sure as heck can enjoy it outside of school and when I listen to my lover sing it on stage surrounded by his peers.
I instantly fell in love with Adam Podd's arrangement when I discovered the performance video by the Minnesota State Mankato Concert Choir. I'm a bit disappointed he skipped verse 2 ("Come writers and critics....") and verse 3 ("Come senators, congressmen....").
I’m singing this song with this arrangement in my community choir right now. Our celebration concert is on May 21st. I get teary from this beautiful song.
I’m learning it for my community chorus also. Unfortunately, I never liked this song, and this arrangement hasn’t made me like it any better. I’m trying to do it well, though. So many others DO like it, and I don’t want to disappoint anyone.
I’m singing this with my choir for the spring program at my school. It’s so beautiful and I have always wanted to learn the accompaniment to this song. Can someone post to piano tutorial how to do this step-by-step?
This is absolutely beautiful. My choir teacher played this for the class yesterday (in a few months we’ll have to sing this for auditions) and it made me feel things. It just hits different. Hits different 2:09 I’m so exited to learn this in class. This is why I love a-cappella.
The arranger, Adam Podd, wrote a TTBB version for the Gay Men’s Chorus that I’m a member of. (Our artistic director and Adam are friends.) The TTBB arrangement is in the key of F but very similar to this SATB arrangement in Db. Both are gorgeous arrangements.
@@jasangela An absolute trainwreck LOL. I don't even wanna talk about it... I'd rather move on from the whole ordeal, and I'm sure someone else could've done better than I could.
my director picked this for graduation and just listening to it made me cry. i'm a junior.
I’m doing it in a select ensemble, and I nearly cry every time I listen to this. I too, am a junior.
We're also doing this for graduation. I'm a senior🥲
@@misssinisterseventy1553 I feel that, bro. Same situation :,0)
@@bingo_bunny Are you also gonna cry mid-song🥲🥲🥲

I love seeing all of us choir kids living the same lives in this comment section
Actually though I want this for graduation and I'm a freshman this year
Right? The choir I’m in is singing this next week at graduation.

Got this yesterday for our concert in May and I’m not graduating anytime soon, but seeing that my brother is..
Crying.
I have to admit I’ve never been a fan of this song, but this arrangement is utterly brilliant.
Couldn't have said it better.

I get to perform this piece in an all star choir with kids from 16 other schools around mine. It's gonna be so powerful and I'm so excited.
My choir director chose this song for all-star choir. I’m literally crying listening to it.
I sang this for music in May my senior year and I was crying at the end 😭
I’m in 8th grade, but I’m in my schools high school choir, and my choir teacher is leaving and this is one of the amazing songs we get to do.
we are doing this for my senior fall semester and i couldn’t have asked for a better song to start off my final year with my amazing choir with

My choir did a fabulous job doing this song.

Gorgeous arrangement. Sounds like something Celtic Woman would perform. It has an Irish lilt to it.
Einfach prima
Beautiful.
I get to sing the solo and while I'm happy I'm so nervous, and I'm afraid I might mess it up or sound bad
I think you’ll do great!! I did the solo for song as well. Just close your eyes and sing your heart out!
Are there any voice specific audios (rehearsal tracks)
tenor part goes so hard
It does. I sang it and omg it was depressing to sing it

Trying to convince my choir teacher to let us do this song (im it eighth grade so probably not)
i don’t like dylan or his musical style but this version is so gorgeous
I've been chosen as the soloist for this piece, and we're supposed to perform this 05.11. Hopefully I can do this arrangement justice! 👍
How did you do?
