English is the official language and then comes afrikaans. Lot of people in Namibia speak Oshiwambo (80%). German is mostly only heard when Germans are among themselves.

There's a daily German newspaper in Windhoek called the _"Allgemeine Zeitung"._ The Germans left a huge impact in Namibia, even after colonial rule, which officially ended in 1918. Many towns and streets still hold German names. But yeah, the language is in decline and mostly spoken at home. Same goes for Afrikaans. Today English is the official language and lingua franca.
