It's completely fine. Washing meat is completely unnecessary in general. If you have skin on poultry, look out for feathers but aside from that, all meat is ready to cook out of the package.

I did a butt yesterday, but I smoked it on my smoker for 3hrs before. Makes a difference between real smoke and the liquid.
