When you reach the final area of the game and one of the party members starts monologuing ominously:

this part surprised me, I thought the game was going to go on longer but when I saw the setting for this final match, the first cutscene clicked my head, I got pissed. I WANTED MORE

This made a lot of sense, at this stage his body was putting up its final attempt to stay alive, the final battle against Frederic is that he is in his death throes.

Applaudisemient Sonique scares the CRAP out of me! The sheer magnitude of it, plus the music/male chorus that backs it up is just plain creepy! Great battle! Can't wait to get this for myself
One more thing, Frederic sure knows how to scream... I actually enjoy hearing him scream when he's defeated...
...Trust me, Frederic is my favorite character and I played through whole game twice JUST because of him...
Orzel Bialy!! Oh man, this is such joy to hear Polish in the game! To those who don't know, it means "The White Eagle", which is Oland's coat of arms.

I just stopped playing the game when i reached the fifth chapter. I don't want the game to end. That and i don't want to fight chopin.
The music for this battle is suiting. He really knows how to lay down the damage when he's an enemy...

This game was the reason I bought an Xbox 360; Chopin using music to defeat monsters in a world where everybody and every place is a musical term/reference? Totally in. It’s too bad Frederick doesn’t learn Applaudissiment Sonique when he’s still a playable character; I would’ve loved to spam that along with Phantom Pain.
I love Frederic's voice on here. But I like the video on the PS3 more. xD

I like to think of watching your videos (as I often do I'M SUCH A FAN!) as strategic opportunities because I get to see how you play and form my own strategies and forms of attack. I've done things like that with your Tales of the Abyss videos. You act as an, among many other things, an inspiration.
personally i think salsa is the best character, if you have her gor in your team then you can pull off a full power harmony chain on EVERY person's turn (very helpful) i took out evil fred on my first character rotation with salsa, viola and allegretto (didn't go through mysterious unision either, in their 60s)
The eerie moan from “applaudissement sonique” still creeps me out today.....😥
Yeah...only wished that Chopin's voice actor could pronounce it correctly (with "ż" and "ł"), but not even Japanese actor could spell it right (but it's better than American). It's still good to hear something like that in this game though, kidna made me suprised when I was just playing, I levelled Chopin's up and I Mastered that skill O_o.

Actually, when I was only about 5 hours into the game, I knew that Frederic would be the final BOSS. @____@
Oh whoa! This is the first playthrough?!! I was around your levels in my 1st playthrough to fight Frederic (and I cried the whole time I fought him T_T) He went down in less than 5 minutes...
Maybe 'cause I use Falsetto to build Echo and use Jazz to just spam anything while Polka did the healing... Frederic is surely VERY evil here! (why did he keep chasing Polka??)
Is it bad that my my 3 fighters are level 76 and I killed Freddy in like, a minute?
Defending against Fred's baton at close range is only trickier because he changes the way he swung than before. Plus he can do Orzel Bialy from much further away, which surprised me.

Burst mode huh. What reference is that? Good job. Now I need to beat the game so I don't feel left out and have a better understanding of the game.

I never really liked Viola battle-wise. She did amazing amount of damage throughout most of the game and her healing was great until fred learned Spirits Pathway/ tri-clementia Polka learned earth heal/blossom shower. She always does great damage from far away but where's the fun in that? Slowly everyone catches up to her and if you're a high enough lvl (around like 55+) she starts to get behind. Overall she's always an awesome character in battle but imo she just starts to lose her appeal later
This game was acting kinda shady, ain’t calling my name
I KNOW RIGHT! When i first fought against "harry potter", lol, i was not prepared with any reviving items and i don't know how to do the "echoes" thing(so my battles end up taking forever). but i'm like 10 mins into the fight and everyone is weak till "he" gets pissed and "Echoes" that phrase. Caught me off guard, didn't block, and he just needed to attack a couple more times to end "those foolish creatures".
Him and Luther from Star Ocean 3 flipped their shit and so did I

Yes, those two can really build the Echo gauge, especially March with the Werewolf Choker

This greatly annoyed me.Having to vs Frederic and all. Especially because when I was fighting Legato, Salsa and March died, so Fred got all the XP. So he was like level 64 and I was depending on him. Then he goes and tries to kill me
I'm one of the leading people in knowledge about this game, and I have a list of the characters stats at every level, an echo list, and I've done damage testing.
Damage dealing:
Falsetto beats Jazz in raw damage, due to Snow Claw and Howling Thunder being better than Heat Blade.
Super Nova+Pervius means March easily beats him attackwise.
Salsa can challenge him in attack, and once you use Shadow Silhuette, she beats him.
Frederic beats him.
Retto beats him.
Viola beats him.
Comparison from my Regular ode to my Encore Mode:
Regular - Highest leveled person, level 48 (Jazz). Time, 31 hours.
Encore - Highest leveled person, level 59 (Frederic, Jazz was level 53). Time, 45 hours.
gut feeling, is all i can say...XD 'cause this is his dream, if someone else is the final boss that would be very non-sense XD

You have to realise that I like Jazz, his trombone blade is awesome(I play the trombone :P ), he has badass quotes and a slick design.
He's just not a good battler compared to the others in gameplay.
Yes, he can be used without mayor problems, but that's more due to the game being horribly easy. XD
I LOVE THOSE PHRASES. mostly the "Foolish" ones
I think Frederic doesn't like Polka because she blocks off the rain (Applaudissement Sonique) with her umbrella.

I was kind of disappointed at how easy this was. I managed first time with pretty much nothing in my inventory! I hope there is a sequel though…
Indeed. It's a frighenting special move. A shame we didn't get to use it, but Phantom Pain is still a winner.

This is my LAST. COMMENT. On Viola, I suggest that you move far away, but close enough to hit him, and use your ranged regular attack. It does a lot of damage.

Fredrick wanted to finish you off with so many Applaudisimant Soniques that he ran out of time faster... nvr did that many of those attacks to me!!
@Trickster242 sure hope so...my Frederick is actually lv 98 going on 99...training him to be even more badass? LOL. I agree - wish that the game ended otherwise. I feel bad enough that we're going to kick the ass of a famous piano composer, but it hurts even more to think he's probably the most awesome and most powerful member on your party you spent days training or something. Well, I guess we all just should be glad he didn't have Phantom Pain as one of his boss moves. D:

Hmm...I have yet to finish the game. Is Frederic's level when you fight him here the last level you left him as? O.O
No, he has final boss level, HP and he gets his own unique attacks he cannot access in the story.
BS. Jazz when he first turns up is outclassed by all but Viola. Allegretto gets to attack before the enemy, making him better.
Then Jazz disappears, and returns underlevelled, so now he's not tanky, strong or fast.
Jazz is the worst character next to Claves(While she is overpowered once actually levelled up, it takes far too long and is for too short a time).
No it doesn't depend on your style, Jazz's stats and other shortcomings makes him that bad, objectively.

There's a lot of characters that use the choker better than Jazz, and it's the best item in the game. it makes ANYONE awesome.
And his running speed isn't his problem, his speed stat is, and it's not fixable with an item.
There's also the fact that many characters outrank him in damage done.
Falsetto is brutal, fast as heck in stat and run, easily gets 16 hits in, which with choker or final weapon means full echoes, and some of the most damaging combos around.
