What do you think about the Akademiks situation? Do you think A$AP will walk away free? And how did you feel about the Central Cee album?
I think Akademics should be investigated by the FBI. (Drake too) especially after top 5 getting caught up everyone around the dudes on some bs why wouldn’t he be too.
I think ASAP will walk free cause there are already too many holes in the case. Central cee is overrated aicht bodied him!
Akadiddy needs to go
Uhh the album was ass, asap should be free, ak should be banned everywhere
AK is a lame & needs to be deplatformed. Asap will walk free. Central Cee is something else.
Elliott’s comments were soo disappointing… Ak has been a problem in the culture and any journalist good is far outweighed by the bad!! The continual coddling of AK by grown men is WILD!! Hed’s comments need to be clipped up and shared far and wide. Us Elder Millennials tend to forget that we are the new Aunties and Uncles now!!
DJ Hed is 100% right about Tommy Richman. Maya Angelou said “When People Show You Who They Are…Believe Them The First Time”
I don’t know a damn thing about Tommy Richman so if you tell me I’m wrong, I’ll take it. I think his original “I’m not hip hop” was just to say “I’m not JUST hip hop” he just didn’t know how to express that thought out loud.
What do you mean, he didnt know? He couldve wrote the exact thing you just wrote 😂 He left that one word out on purpose bc thats not how he felt. We gotta stop shooting this mofo bail! @@MrJessenava

@@MrJessenavaWhile this is true, it has to be said in the context of many white artists having made songs, existed, and profited off of the culture, and then they want to go back to their own culture and say something negative about us. Two big examples are Post Malone and Miley Cyrus.
The bigger picture is quickly becoming the best hip hop news podcast tbh 👀🙌

That's what they need to rebrand as instead of calling it a debate show. They barely debate anything.
@@4theyemusic84why does the naming matter? It’s not in the title anyways. Nothing will change about the show if they stopped calling it a debate show…. Idiot

Agreed!
I’m boutta call CPS on DJ Hed for Jeremy at this point periodt. lmao 😂😂😂

Joe Budden said it best.. there is a generation of men who dont know that they were groomed.
I've seen so many black men have the reply of "yeah but when we were kids the older guys spoke like that to us" etc.
I think the point is yes, they did but they never should have spoken to underaged boys in that way.
@matthewhendricks6764 where did he say this?
Proud of you Jeremy for not shying away from the important conversations.
You are definitely like us 👏👏👏

Elliott Wilson is illustrating why it takes so long to expose abusers. Wilson was a powerful journalist when War in Chiraq came out, and he's still calling that exploitative crap credible journalism. Jeremy mentioned Livingston putting his hands on a woman - in public - and Elliott chuckles.
Your professional relationship is not more important than all of the harm Livingston has caused.
I hope Elliott receives this.
Who has akademiks abused ?
It looks and sounds like he chuckled about AK saying he was the prize
@Abdullah-vg1uc You're literally typing this on UA-cam, on the internet. Instead of expecting answers from a stranger, look it up.
Here's a hint: Google 'Akademiks abuse' then read.
🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯
Elliot, let's be clear. The 15 year old child was not someone who was close to ak. This isn't a friend group where the older guys are pressuring the younger guy to be involved with adult activities. Ak and the other adults in the chat were trying to embarrass this child because he looked up to the streamer max. He looked up to him sooo much, there were previous adults who would play out scenarios to this child (ex: if maxs life was in danger, would you suck a d to save him) with sezual tones and explicit language. The goal was to embarrass him, but this went much further. The child continued to ask the adults to stop. The child continued to tell them he was 15 and this was not cool. However, ak and the other creeps kept upping the anty, hoping to get him to agree to some sort of sezual act or discussion. At the end of the day, this little boy asked them to stop. They could have made fun of the kid in a million other ways if thats what they were just itching to do. This situation is disgusting and makes me and many others not give two efs what ak built. If he cared about what he built, he should have the understanding of how to conduct himself appropriately and make sure his effery does not put what he built in jeopardy. Period.
Totally agree💯
And that’s fact though ‼️
You got to realise there is an agenda and take note it’s all the zesty beta males that are trying to down play what these nearly forty year olds and over grooming predators , was doing in a streaming room with a minor saying the most disgusting and perverse things to a minor. In the form of entertainment and jokes to make it look like horseplay and messing around, to make it look innocent. No alpha masculine Man, would ever try to play this serious violation, off as nothing, they would wholeheartedly defend the child. They all should be behind bars, and not on platforms.
"The girlies back outside, burning bras" is crazy DJ Hed 😂
The long pause after Jeremy's "periodt" sent me into orbit 😂😂
Jeremy : "Don't downplay yourself king" 🤣🤣🤣
Gottem lol
I liked Jeremy’s approach to the akademiks stuff, I think it’s worth noting that the kid told everyone that he was on the air and Ak still said all that stuff knowing full well it was recorded and public. So it’s not quite just a “group chat” conversation or “locker room conversation.” I definitely don’t talk ab that bs in my group texts let alone on air
Elliott trying to be the defender when the issue being discussed is THIS story is so corny. Right after Jeremy mentioned all the other stuff too. Talking about he cares about what he has to say on things and speaking for him saying he’s not proud of that stuff when he’s actually acted pretty proud. Bro losing it.
The chemistry keeps getting better 🔥 great episode
You guys are the only people I have ever heard talk about Tommy Richman. LoL. 😂
They're literally keepin him relevant. I don't know a single person who talks about him or his music like that. Everyone just likes his 1 tik tok song, but most people who know the song don't even know who he actually is...
LMAO
They teed off on him on the JBP today too. I was happy another platform spoke on it.
Yeah the song was bigger than him for real.
Shout out to Curtis king… “someone’s gotta tell the truth and I’m about to tell it”
That was a horrendous take Elliot on the Akademics situation…. Akademics should be in prison for all the violence he’s instigated, all the misinformation and defamation he’s spread, and all the grooming and pdf comments he’s made.
Also let the drake love go he’s a POS
🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯
Hed: "nobody got an email, Elliot!" 🤣🤣🤣
I need to call out Elliott in regards to his commentary on Akademiks because as someone who has been the self-appointed voice of journalism in Hip Hop media, he should be calling out Akademiks specifically, and people going the same route as him, because of his lack of accountability and his belief that he is accountable to no one.
That is the thing that I agree with Elliott in his rants against the shift in his era of Hip Hop that we see in a broader sense in all media, that people are beginning to go alternative voices and outlets for their news, and we can get angry about the shift, but we can also have an honest conversation about why it's happening, or maybe how things should adapt and what our expectations should be as an audience. If we don't care if our cultural and news commentators hold them up to journalistic standards or even just having a baseline level of understanding about any topic they are giving their opinion on, then we get what we deserve when those commentators don't take any accountability or responsibility for their platform and the information they spread. Akademiks is the worst example of not taking responsibility for what he says or does. He's corrupt, he's a shitty person, he spreads misinformation and isn't afraid to blindly defame someone or defend someone with his platform.
That's what I believe that Elliott should be championing with his repeated call for real journalists and journalistic standards in Hip Hop media, not just because they have a seemingly more informed and credible perspective to make good interviews of musicians, but because they have a standard and the audience holds them to that standard and has those expectations as well. It shouldn't take for someone like Akademiks to have a scandal that we have to literally see with our eyes and hear with out ears that he's using his platform irresponsibly, that he takes no accountability for his actions, that he believes he is above having to answer to anybody. A person like that should never attach the label "journalist" to his name and we as an audience should never give him the credibility, even if most everyone knows that he's full of shit most of the time, because we may ignore it, but we still help to give him the platform to others who do trust his word or do believe him, adults as well as kids, and then we wonder why a shitty megalomaniac doesn't believe he has to ever take accountability for his words and actions.
If Elliott's whole mission isn't just jealousy about streamers being more relevant and it's not just about others getting interviews that he himself isn't, I believe he should highlighting that a journalistic standard, at the end of the day, is about accountability, credibility, and responsibility to your audience. It is people that build up a trust with their audience, and even the people they interview, to be fair, honest, objective, and informed. That's why its a disgrace that someone like Ak not only has flaunted that label, but he's been given the label in the industry. Harping on and on about interviews and lashing out at Cam or Kai or whoever just makes you seem bitter and out of touch, but if we could point to someone like Ak and say, "This is why we need people with actual integrity, standards, and accountability in the positions of people who consider themselves journalists and why anyone who is able to get a platform and spout an opinion should have some responsibility that comes with having that platform." Akademiks being a pioneer with streaming and having some sources and doing some research doesn't mean that Elliott should be giving him so much respect and shooting him so much bail. Akademiks regularly demonstrates through his words and actions that he doesn't give a fuck about integrity, about honesty, about objectivity. He called his War in Chiraq work a parody. Even that is some instigating, provoking exploitation that doesn't take responsibility for the impact of how he uses his platform, especially when what he was doing could be seen as dry snitching, gossip, inciting violence, etc. just by how irresponsibly he used real people and gang politics for entertainment.
To add to this, I think Hed had a pretty good response to the situation. I think that we see in white spaces that "cancel culture" is more of a thing, and while I think that people can see how that goes too far into some people taking it upon themselves to impose their opinions on others for some sense of control or just being "outrage culture" as just people getting angry to get angry, but I think this Akademiks situation shows that even in Hip Hop and the black community and smaller cultural spaces, there needs to be an attitude towards calling out bad behavior, especially in this internet age, because of the people that are able to amass a lot of power with their platforms and the lack of accountability they have. I think we tend to think that the law will come down on bad behavior or that karma might get people, or maybe some people are on the other side where they are fine with turning a blind eye to things if they don't have to be confronted about it or they don't mind condoning bad behavior as long as it doesn't effect them, but I think this situation shows that there are vulnerable individuals, like kids, and their are people that abuse their position and openly reject any accountability for their actions, and that is where we need community and standards and to look out for one another even when our institutions and the powers that be let us down.
I don’t understand Elliott’s perspective on Aitch & Central Cee.
Aitch shouldn’t respond to Central Cee because Americans don’t know who he is…what sense does that make??
Cannot wrap my mind around respecting anyone who uses “sales” to reflect talent - his true intentions came out when he big upped his girl in Cee’s camp 🙄
like we didn't just see Drake and Kendrick and how MTG dropped

I will never forget that interview Sexy Red did (cant remember the channel name tho), where young brother asked her the craziest thing that ever happened and she responded that she was raped. And they were so shook they kinda hurriedly changed the subject and refused to listen to her story. They asked for the craziest, but they werent prepared to talk about real crazy (dont get no more crazy than that imo).
I cant unsee and hear that convo when I see her and so Im always just proud of her. She can do no wrong in my eyes even tho her music isnt typically for me. I support it. Shes a true queen to be living so boldly after surviving such violence, and do it in a space where no one is brave enough to even hear her story.
I felt the same way but then she started shucking and jiving for Trump. Her brand is a little too attention-seeking for my tastes. It feels like she'll switch up her morals for a quick buck
It may have been Lil Yachty
I fw Jeremey he keeps it real 💯

52:00 Defending Akadiddy is so Elliot Wilson.
I really enjoy Jeremy, I appreciate him. DJ hed give him a break 😂
I don’t know why we are even still asking is Tommy Richman a hip hop artist or not.
Tommy Richman makes RnB and alternative RNB music.
To me he’s in the same category as Brent Fiyaz or if we go back in time,Color Me Bad. Whether it’s more aggressive and uptempo or chill his music never leaves the realm of rnb to me lol
I think it is essential that ppl understand that ones ability to conduct themselves a certain way is based on who they are at their core. Akademiks, like many others whose whole identity and personality is soley based on the amount of money they have wont see the importance of using their platform responsibly. Ak's platform was built off selfishness, thats why he sits at his house talking crazy and doing whatever he wants bcuz he only cares about himself.
"As a Black" I must agree with DJ Hed on Tommy 😂
Jeremy does a really good job of bringing the conversation forward (despite DJ Hed), and how present Elliot and engages to make the it a conversation. They both bring it every episode.
