Everyone says, "Life is short. Live it to the fullest. Enjoy every minute." But let's be honest, how many of us are actually doing it? How many of us are truly chasing our dreams, stepping out of our comfort zones, and embracing the unknown?
For us, the turning point came when we decided to quit everything, sell our belongings, and embark on an overlanding adventure around the world with our Land Rover Defender TD5, Willy, and our dog Nacho. We wanted to live a life that we wouldn’t need a vacation from, to experience the world in all its raw beauty and unpredictable glory.
As the great Mark Twain once said, "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
This is our story of reimagining life, defying the ordinary, and seeking the extraordinary. Join us on our overlanding journey as we share our travel adventures, the highs and lows of living in a Land Rover Defender TD5, and the incredible experiences that come with exploring the world. Schweizer Nummer... frisch gestartet. Muss ich doch gleich mal abonnieren! Mein Adventure hat vor einigen wochen mit dem kompletten zerlegen des eigenen Defenders begonnen. Ich bin gespannt wie ihr reist und was eure Erfahrungen sein werden. Grüsse aus dem Thurgau!

So nice to see! It's crazy because it feels like you guys are one year ahead of us. We are in the middle of the defender rebuild and we plan to go to halifax in the next year.
Our biggest concern is our Dog. He gets stressed really fast and he is kinda big, so it doesnt feel good to squeek him into an airplane for that long.
Can you share your experience with flying with a dog? How did your dog manage it?

Hey there. Thank you so much for your comment and for watching our video! We know exactky how you feel about preraring for the upcoming trip. And we understand even more the situation with your dog. I think for us, that was the most stressful part when we thought about the journey. And we won’t sugarcoat it! It was really scarry to give Nacho away, to see him in a box, not knowing how he is, if they treat him right.. so in order to have the shortest flight possible, we booked our flight from Frankfurt to Halifax. That flight went for 7 hours. So Nacho was in the box for 9-10 hours. Nacho also gets stressed very fast and he doesn’t trust strangers ( at all) and there were lots of tears at the airport.. and during the flight. Before our journey, we talked to our vet and we decided to give Nacho Xanax. And even with that, he was still stressed. So all of these is stressful, and hard! But!!! We would not do this trip without him! Because he is a big part of our family and it’s amazing to have him around. It took him a few weeks to recover from the flight. But now we can say, that he is back to business 😁 we really believe, that the time he has now with us, balances the stress we all had with flying him.

You are totally right, there is no way to do it without him. So the best way is to use the remaining time for as much training as possible so he feels comfortable in his crate and around other people. Probably We’ll still Talk to our Vet and See What he thinks about Xanax.

Hey there, yeah it seems that our dogs are pretty similar 😅 Unfortunatelly, we did not had so much time to do box training with Nacho, since we had a huge delay with the delivery of the box. And on top of that, he is a bit afraid of boxex (he is a Romanian streetdog). But starting training early is definitely a very good idea. We even gave Nacho his food in the box. I would just recomment, to try the Xanax before the flight, to see if he has any reactions to it, as that can happen. But with time and lots of pacience, all is possible! Super Video und echt inspirierend, ich überlege in naher Zukunft das gleiche zu machen. Habt ihr die 3D Daten vom Innenraum selber erstellt? Wenn ja, wäre es möglich diese oder den gesamten Innenausbau weiterzuleiten? Habe schon selber probiert den Innenraum grob nachzubauen, kriege es aber nicht wirklich hin.
