I'm almost 70 years old and have been riding since I was 11. I've ridden larger bikes as an adult and decided to stop riding a few weeks ago. My wife also rides and traded for a 2023 CMX Rebel last weekend. I've ridden it some lately and I'm truly impressed with this 300 Rebel. It's not all that fast, but it will do anything I want to do now. I wouldn't take it down the interstate, but it would be a great bike on a back highway road trip.

I bought a 2024 and I've gotten 85 mph and it got it quick I think it's plenty fast enough for a 286cc bike I love mine

my max speed on it is a little over 84 and it got there pretty quick, i ride on a 70 mph interstate just fine, if you live in texas where the speed limit is like 80 you may have a problem but anywhere with the limit of 70/75 should be fine, even with people speeding (dont let it be you)

I’m 6’1..195 i fit just fine on my 300 also get it up to 85 on the highway no problem. But it’s not the best at passing cars. But I still recommend it.

I went on the highway today around town and the bike did well. I'm way heavier than you but I did 72mph; for sure lacks the passing speed, but I mean it's a good bike. I feel like riding at 80 to 85mph is hard on the bike but you could for sure do it.

Yeah, I'm 5'10 and 175. Bought one for my wife and we ride it together sometimes instead of my sport bike, It'll do 80 on flat highway in 6th easy with just me on it, can just run it hard until it gets there, then get off throttle pretty far to keep it at 80 without cruising way up in rpms. It'll do like 95 topped out. So cruising 80-85 is ok, especially a little Honda engine. With my wife and I together, we weigh 305 collectively, and it'll still do 70-75 rather easily. Definitely capable of cruising the highway still without worry of engine damage. Definitely recommend getting an aftermarket thermostat just to be sure you're not overheating it, riding it too hard. They're not expensive and pretty easy to install. You could even just get a radiator cap that has a thermometer on it, that's plenty good. Definitely a great bike for anyone learning. I would recommend the 500 for anyone over 250lbs tho tbh. Especially in places like Florida, Texas, etc. where people cruise the highway at 80-100.

I have this bike as well and I go pretty fast and stay in the gears a lot longer than you do, I wasn't driving like this at first when I got the bike and didn't realize just how fast this bike could go until I read up on the rev limiter as I was afraid of redlining it. For instance I've hit 71 in 4th gear and it's fine.
I stay in 5th on the freeway mostly until I want to go faster than 73

The powerband for this bike is in the mid to high range revs. Ring it out a little more, down shift if you have to. Should give you a little more zing, but is is still a 300 at the end of the day. www.revzilla.com/blog_content_image/image/40303/Power_Curve300.jpg
