Personally, I'm really liking the sort of combination of RPG, worker placement, and set collection going on with this one. Really makes for a unique gaming experience. Excellent video as always.

I learned that game 2 weekends back and when I saw your video I realized we played few things wrong. Last night I played it with 3 people and it turned out to be AWESOMMMEEEEE. Great video, i just spoted 1 mistake when talking about the reward for the monsters 58:50. The reward is only given when the monster is killed not when it flees ( Pag 17 of the rulebook
Slight mistake in the rules at 1:07:29 with changing the dice face to a "?" to trigger "Flamboyant Contestant". Not crazy about the theme, but some of the mechanics seem fun. More interesting skill test system than many games of this genre. The 4 traits could have been 4 tracks on the player board, but how much more cool is it to have them as dials? Great concept. Angler's Cove seems to have drawn some inspiration from the Skullport expansion of Lords of Waterdeep, perhaps.

I know it has been a long time since you played it but can you answer from whatever you remember. 1. You briefly mentioned each players powers. I was unable to get that part. I mean when I’m reading the card, it doesn’t come naturally as to what power each character has. Can you clarify each character’s power or point me in the rule book as to what each character favours? 2. When on an island can you attempt any number of challenges from that island or just one ? 3. Is there a rule that if you run out of your shells in completing a challenge, you can lose ONE die for any amount of danger die(or shells) rolled for that particular challenge? 4. When fighting a monster, the hit tokens are only counted when a monster is killed? Or they’re even counted when the monster invades or flees? This game has tons of rules and a lot of gray areas whenever I play but still love the game. And love your TUTORIAL the most❤️
Glad you enjoyed it :) 1)These powers are all described in the appendix I believe. It's a separate document in the box. 2) Only one challenge 3) I I think you have to lose one die for each X. 4) I believe you only gain the reward if it's defeated, not of it flees.
The designers are planning a sequel to this game set in the same world with the same characters. The idea is this is the first step in determining who the new Tidal Blades will be that will defend the city and eventually enter the Fold to ultimately defeat the monsters and possibly rescue the original Tidal Blades.

Sometimes you might not want upgrade dice, to be more flexible I mean level 3 dice to level 4.
I think so. It doesn't specifically says on the rulebook on placement of character standee but as long as a space is empty and you have an action disc you can go there.
I don't believe workers can go to the same exact spot twice. I'm not sure about your first question unfortunately, it's been a couple months since I put this out and I don't remember specifics like that.
@@JonGetsGames It seems to be allowed to take an action on the same "island", sorry that's what I meant, but not the same action twice, because you lay down an action disc, so yeah... Tim cleared it up, the 2 bonus points on the champion board when fullfilling a set of three different island challenges you get immediately.
Huh, I do see that in the illustrated setup now. I don't see where it instructs you to do that in the setup though, can you help me out there? Too bad this was missed by me and the publisher when they did a proof watch.
@@JonGetsGames it's on page 6 of the rulebook under the player setup. It says, "Place 2 extra Shells on your Shell Shield" with the number 25 circles to match the picture on the previous page. With it on the next page, it can be easily missed. I almost did the same my first game too.

No, the dial still showed a "3" for the three cards they had already. They needed one more dial tick to get another card.
