The story of the season is Luton Town gaining promotion to the EPL after such a rollercoaster ride where they had dropped out of the football league and then climbed up all the leagues to make it to the top flight of course Luton were actually one of original 22 teams that were involved in the breakaway from the football league to set up the EPL but they were relegated in 1992 a season before the EPL started so they never actually got to play in it until the end of this season so its been a real rollercoaster for them the past 30 or so years and you could make a film about it
The two teams that went down with Luton in 1992 were Notts County and West Ham (who finished bottom). Notts have just got promotion back to the fourth tier after being in non-league (and as a result have regained their status as the oldest Football League club) and West Ham have just won a European trophy. Shows you how fortunes can contrast. It was a good season for all 3. I would guess that Notts County were involved in that breakaway too?
