@bensnyder8672 except the newest version of the Vision SLR bar is LED, so it's just as bright as the low-profile lightbars with the added rotating pattern that works very well "bouncing" off the walls of the buildings...
Ive seen both a Vision SLR and a Valor right next to each other, the Valor beat it by a long shot in terms of brightness. Another reason the bars are being phased out is cost, The SLR bars are roughly $3700 compared to the Valor being $1500.
@@lilomelet68 Areed. The SLR definitely LOOKS cool, and keeps with the iconic look that Metro has had for so long, but the light output compared to a Valor is almost a joke. They are almost invisible during the day.
NYPD didn't convert them. First it was Vectors. Then Visions. The Vision SL, which was the stationary LED version, then Vision SLR, which was what they have now. Metro had every version as well.
Metro ain't Metro without the Vision.
I agree.
Sad to see the department replacing the rotating light bars
Led brighter the halogen bars even in daylight
I agree.

Metro and NYPD were among the few to use bubble bars but NYPD converted them to LEDs...
Yeah very rare to see!
