I like it when you spoke about the beta gameplay, and frankly thats one thing I would love to see as a game mode, either a 4v4 (lance warfare) or way larger map whit initial spawn that force lance to face each other in order to regroup, whit lance focus objective to encourage people to play as a lance. And the lance would be balance by having 1 of each class of mech. These in my book would be the be the best game mode for this game
I find that leaving weapons bay doors closed (King Crab, Catapult, Stalker) causes a delay in the actual firing of the weapons in the bay. I always open them at the start of the match.
Seeing this mech in action is actually kind of rewarding it even so makes great use in armor in case of defense even when you're protecting a friendly stalker
Pretty sure Critical Damage only applies to Non-Actuator-Gyro-or-Engine equipment, basically any equipment with actual HP. So unless they have Ammo in their CT, which is actually fairly common, the Critical Damage does no extra damage to the CT itself, it's all base damage. However for their tonnage MGs do deal a lot of DPS for absolutely 0 heat. Additionally, most Missiles deal bonus Critical Damage, so it's probably work out better if you used the Pulses to make the hole, assuming you were aiming for Weapons or Ammo, and not just the CT.
Thanks Baradul! Great mech. I played the LRM version to much success also. The theory of splash armor off, pinoint with LPL, and finish with crits and low heat MGs works very well. Another great post!
And ofc the time I get matched in a lance with Baradul then I utter fuck up -_- (I was the dual rotary cannon's) I still dont know what went wrong in that match... we should have won..
Did something similar with a Roughneck (2x MRM 20 + 4x light machine gun). Very fun if it works, but not fun at all if a team won't push along, because you are "only" a Heavy. Also the two larges are missing.
I love these vids, your designs reminds me of my old tabletop designs I used i the 90's, just pure joy to play. Have you tried taking a Jenner IIC and equipping it with 4 Med Laser and 2 SRM 6 Streaks.? It was the best recon and city fight I ever ran. Give it a try, you'll love it
You can save yourself a ton by going mrm40 and mrm20. I run mine with large lasers instead of LPLs. Tried it, it was fun along with snub ppcs, but you get better heat and the large lasers are closer to the range of the mrms. That tonnage saved can go into a bigger engine and the heat sinks can be dropped for more slots for ferro so you can damn near max your armor. And aww nuts, I thought I was being original when I made the build a couple days ago lol.
I have changed it since then. it is more like the build Molten is currently using. The mrm40/20 combo has ghost heat which is lame. Other than that, just pick the engine size you want and ammo amount and you are good to go.
Basically how I used to run my CN9-AH. 3 machineguns and as many SRMs as I could fit into it. As long as I did not get picked off I would just shred people. Fire that SRM shotgun and then shred the internals with the machineguns.
this build is hilarious i made this exact build about a month ago and people dont know whats going until its too late. most people dont freak out when 6 machine guns start shooting them its the missles lmao.
Very nice build, combination of mrm and mg it's what i like more and more... I test mrm + mg build on bushwacker (MRM40, 2xMRM10, 3xMG, 2xSPL) but not always work good. I have only one build on mrm that work always (almost) - cyclop Q version with 120MRM (6xMRM20). Its beautiful how enemy is tear from armor ;) (video somewhere on my canal). Unfortunatelly cyclop dont have enought armor to brawl like king crab but still work :) And half-alpha on light legs ... :D
In the first round, Baradul dealt more than 1000 damage and still had about 360 mrm's and 478 lmg rounds. I think he's good on ammo lol. Also, a single ams is still better than none. It just takes 3 mechs to provide the ams defense of a kitfox, anyway. You won't always have a Cutefox to provide an umbrella, nor will you always have ecm coverage, so you'll want a backup for when that's the case.
Conceptually, I totally agree with you. However in practice, I think it's worth the slots for AMS - but only because it's a king crab. Those things are missile magnets....someone LRMing a random light mech on the other side of the map? They'll hit the king crab. Oh, someone shooting off volleys of SRMs? Doesn't matter that they're shooting at a direwolf, it will automatically hit the crab. AMS, totes worth it on the crabby crab.
Think of the 1.5 tons of the AMS + ammo as extra armor. I lost count of the number of games my single AMS saved me from being rained to death by LRMs. Missing a leg, missing a torso, but still ticking. I'm very sure it's thanks to the AMS!
Also, every missile you shoot down counts toward match score and c-bills. I was running my umbrella Kitfox the other day. I did 28 points of damage, but shot down 922 missiles. I had a match score in the 400's

Couldn't remember the greatest mech in the wooorrllrld, NO!!! This is just a tribuuuute.
LOVE Tenacious D
12:52 - "The Huchback is my _PREY_ ority..." - slogan confirmed :D !
If I had a load out like that timber I would afk in shame too...
I literally facepalmed when I saw it. As someone who's spent a lot of time in TBWs, I have to wonder what that guy was thinking.

There is definitely a delay. I have an Archer, I open the bay doors.

I have a similar build with PPCs and MG in place of the LPL and LMG. I do love this style of build for the K Crab.

What'a mech!!! Thanks Baradul.

OMG YES YES YES! The Tribute references cracked me up so hard! Hahahahahaha
Also, love your videos man.
14:20 In case anybody needed a reminder of how quickly assaults can do damage

can you link a build that gorgeous beast?

Nice video! Try lbx10 x2 and mrm 60 with 2 medium lasers. You trade speed for a very nasty brawl ability.
MRM's are some of my favorite weapons since I have been playing. Not extremely effective but fun!
I feel like more ammo would serve you a lot better than your single AMS

Like the Build but cant afford it to many Nightstar and Osiris in may hangar for new Loadouts.
I call mine Mrs. Krabs
How do you get external screen shots of your mech?
Go to the testing grounds, hit F5.
i wish the ratio of armor: structure was 1:1 not 2:1. would make mg even more funny :D
6:08 team is attacking you from behind?
Possibly. And only 6/8 points of armor in the back. Could be a flanking enemy too though. No blips on the radar for what no one sees.
Front armor is for opponents, back armor is for friendly fire. :)
Machine guns are completely out of proportion to the old pen-and-paper game.
Well shucks, if I knew I was going to be on UA-cam.....XxMizeryxX.
Hey
I have the 000B King Crab and run it with 3LPL, 2MRM15-20 and 4MG.
I die like a bitch. :(
Be ye angels?
Alex Garris And we said NAY! WE ARE BUT MEN!
ROCK!
why do you say you have 16 double heat sinks? You only have 6.
the engine brings 10
