This was my normal back in the 1980s and 1990s as a child. My father never wanted me, so my mother dated a black man for many years until I was an adult. I considered him my only father figure. We got along just fine. ❤️

Let your daughter know that it is more than ok for her to have beautiful curly hair. Find a hairdresser to take care of her hair to so that her braided styles are done with care. Or you learn how to braid her hair. That is part of your daughter’s care--so you need to lovingly care for her beautiful hair. When you show appreciation for her hair, she will have appreciation for her hair as well (maybe you wear your hair curly or wavy). My daughter got jealousy from the girls in her 1st grade class. It was a continuous job to rebuild her self esteem on a daily basis. Welcome to the ride. Your daughter will have to deal with image/beauty issues that black women have had to deal with for forever. GL ✌🏾

My niece was asked if she is mixed. She didn't understand what the teacher meant, so the teacher said " is one of your parents white". My niece answered "yes, my mother is white, why are you asking". How do parents bring up this topic when it is the last thing kids think about?

I guess it was kind of rare in America in the late 1980s for me to marry my husband who is white. We had 2 daughters and a son together and always got stares and a lot of questions from both races. Love and family are way more worth it than their stares

The truth is, the numbers are still really low in comparison to other groups. By far the most prevalent is white men and Asian women. But there's never any attention paid to that pairing because there's never been a stigma associated with it. SO MANY white men came back from WWII and even Korea married to someone Asian and the miscegenation laws didn't seem apply to them...funny how that works.

One of the worst sins ever committed is to use the bible or religion to justify one's own prejudices. GOD is not a racist or a bigot, nor does scripture contradict itself. He told the people not to marry foreign spouses because of P-A-G-A-N-I-S-M. According to these "bible bigots" reasoning, Moses would've been wrong to have an african wife, Boaz never should've married Ruth (a Moabite & ancestor of the Christ,) & Paul was wrong to take in young Timothy as an apostle & bishop (Greek daddy & Jewish momma.) Saddest of all, if Jesus gave all he had to break down barriers between men, why have they been busy putting them back up again? "Is Christ divided"? - Bro. Paul (Is his body 'sposed to be segregated?)

I wonder if there are age statistics on interracial dating/marrying anywhere I assume there are.
Like what is the breakdown of couples in their 20's, 30's, 40's 50's 60's etc etc.

    • @chocolateangel8743
      @chocolateangel8743 3 роки тому +2

I don't know if the research covers age, but you can find a lot of information of interracial dating via the Pew Research Center and some information from The Brooking's Institute. I believe the U.S. Census tracks various unions as well. Based on their population size (about 7%), BM marry out more than any other group, and about 25% of the newly-married BM are marrying outside of their race.
However, BW are also dating and marrying out more now than ever before. You actually see it in the streets. I've noticed it along with younger black girls and women. Interestingly, WM and BW have some of the longest-lasting and successful relationships of all other groups.

    • @connerhuston2613
      @connerhuston2613 3 роки тому

Okay thanks, Yes I figured it would be more prevalent among the younger set. I just wouldn't mind seeing the ages and how big a difference it is say between the 20's , 30's etc etc.
I am sure there are interracial couples in their 40's 50's etc etc etc and wouldn't mind seeing if the make up of the couples change in those age groups. i.e BM/WW or BW/WM or WM/AW or WW/AM etc etc

The United States August 12, 2021
Today’s release of 2020 Census redistricting data provides a new snapshot of the racial and ethnic composition of the country as a result of improvements in the design of the race and ethnicity questions, processing, and coding.
Nearly all groups saw population gains this decade and the increase in the Two or More Races population (referred to throughout this story as the Multiracial population) was especially large (up 276%). The White alone population has declined by 8.6% since 2010.
    The 2020 Census shows (Figures 1, 2, and 3):
The White population remained the largest race or ethnic group in the United States, with 204.3 million people identifying as White alone. Overall, 235.4 million people reported White alone or in combination with another group. However, the White alone population has decreased by 8.6% since 2010.
The Multiracial population has changed considerably since 2010. It was measured at 9 million people in 2010 and is now 33.8 million people in 2020, a 276% increase.
The “in combination” multiracial populations for all race groups accounted for most of the overall changes in each racial category.
All of the races alone or in combination groups experienced increases. The Some Other Race alone or in the combination group (49.9 million) increased 129% surpassing the Black or African American population (46.9 million) as the second-largest race alone or in the combination group.
The next largest racial populations were the Asian alone or in the combination group (24 million), the American Indian and Alaska Native alone or in the combination group (9.7 million), and the Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander alone or in the combination group (1.6 million).
The Hispanic or Latino population, which includes people of any race, was 62.1 million in 2020. The Hispanic or Latino population grew 23%, while the population that was not of Hispanic or Latino origin grew 4.3% since 2010.
It is important to note that these data comparisons between the 2020 Census and 2010 Census race data should be made with caution, taking into account the improvements we have made to the Hispanic origin and race questions and the ways
    Multiracial Population
In 2020, the percentage of people who reported multiple races changed more than all of the race alone groups, increasing from 2.9% of the population (9 million people) in 2010 to 10.2% of the population (33.8 million people) in 2020.
The largest Multiracial combinations in 2020 were White and Some Other Race (19.3 million), White and American Indian and Alaska Native (4 million), White and Black or African American (3.1 million), White and Asian (2.7 million), and Black or African American and Some Other Race (1 million).
Between 2010 and 2020, the White and Some Other Race population added 17.6 million people to the Multiracial population, a change of over 1,000%.
The White and American Indian and Alaska Native population also increased, growing by about 2.5 million people or 177%.
The White and Black or African American population increased by 1.2 million people, a 67.4% change.
The White and Asian population increased by 1.1 million people, a 65.8% change in size.
The Black or African American and Some Other Race population increased by 722,383 people, a 230% change.
The observed changes in the Multiracial population could be attributed to a number of factors, including demographic change since 2010. But we expect they were largely due to the improvements to the design of the two separate questions for race and ethnicity, data processing, and coding, which enabled a more thorough and accurate depiction of how people prefer to self-identify.
    Take Care and God bless

It is the new normal and will only continue to grow in popularity. I am black and my wife is white. White women have always been my preference sexually and for relationships. Black women, in general, are notoriously difficult and many are self centered. My wife is the complete opposite of that. She is kind, compassionate and understanding. She is not demanding and puts our marriage and children first. She's comfortable with the idea of a strong male who leads his family.
While our two young sons are technically biracial, they are being raised with a clear understanding of black culture with my wife's encouragement and support. They are 2 and 4 and already identify as black.

It's funny that BM say they can't help who they fall in love with. Yet, the more educated or wealthy a BM is, the more likely he is to marry a WW. Also, biracial and black is not the same thing. Black is only dominant when their is a 1 to 1 ratio, but most black people have a significant amount of white in them. This is why most biracial kids (B/W) have more white DNA and appear more white-looking. It's also interesting that the BM moved to a predominately white area -- as if he is trying to separate himself from his blackness.

    • @adanwaneri3275

The BM has failed himself and community for centuries. Yet, he blames the BW for the consequences of his actions. BM are -- and always have been -- self-hating and believed themselves to be inferior to non-blacks. I've had BM in my family openly admit it.
