Bram, it truly moved my spirit to see your dedication to my Mom on this video. I know she happily raised an elegant glass in Heaven and said,"Cheers, my friend!" for your recognition. My gratitude for this kindness cannot be measured. She adored your videos from the beginning, for you are a master of wit, charm, and video artistry. You made me laugh because my Mom and Dad always found the bars first as well! Muster with a drink in hand! Speaking of which, I feel fortunate to have had the luxury of skipping the muster drill via UA-cam video magic, but you had to sit through it all. Yikes! I am so sorry they are not doing E-Musters, or "arrive only at your assembly station" musters. I personally have never seen a more confusing style of cruise ship (I am sure they do exist, this is the first time I have ever seen one in video format) - everything looked the same! I can understand why you felt turned around on board. It was fun getting a little lost though - that is all part of the experience, right? I wonder, were you on a transition cruise (new staff turn-around, or old staff about to leave/not caring, etc.)? It seemed like no one knew what they were doing and they were just getting their feet wet, so to speak. Me and Jamie's anniversary always falls during transition time, so the service is usually subpar compared to cruises we have taken at other times of the year. It could also be that MSC service reigns supreme in less than stellar service - who knows? I will be overjoyed to see more videos in this series to see if the experience improves for both you and Mellie! I will raise a crystal glass filled with the finest Prosecco and say my deepest thanks to you, once more!
You are clearly the daughter of your mother 😊 The fact that your dad took the time to inform me of her passing was mindblowing to me. Although I never had the luxury of meeting her, I feel I know her a bit and was blessed with all her kind words, which will be in the comments for eternity. 😎
Hi, Bram! Happy to see you back! I have sailed twice with MSC in the Caribbean and it was a very smooth 10 minute embarkation process. We did the muster drill, I believe, on the TV in the room, and we went to the assembly station. Done! Maybe that is just in the Caribbean. Every cruise and every person has a different experience. All cruise lines should have a conference on how to proceed with embarkation and drill so that everyone is on the same page. Excellent video, as always. I am eager to see te rest of this series.
I did that 2 years ago, the same way. So I was shocked to see they changed it. If I ever do MSC Yacht Club again, it will be in the Caribbean area. With US passengers. This one was 90% Russian, 5% Chinese and 5% Italian, French and Spanish. It was "different" 🥴
Loved seeing the 'real' not what the viewer expects to see version. AS always your perspective is spot on to how we like to cruise. What i can tell you is that my Husband would have flipped out in that restaurant! And you are correct that it is the parents not controlling their children, i have come to the conclusion that parents on cruises think that since they are on vacation their children can run amuck..... We were thinking about going on MSC but now I'm not sure LOL looking forward to the next episodes! ANd I am so happy you are back to making your vlogs! Happy Cruising.
Hello Monica, thanks for the support as always. I guess with MSC you get what you pay for. A quarter of the price compared to for example The Haven on NCL will have some issues in return. I will give MSC a third try but only on a Caribbean sailing with a US crowd. I will then ask the butler to fix my app right away, skip the tour and head straight for a bar to stock up on a 70 minute muster drill. 🤣
Another good video, I'm looking forward to this new series as I'm interested in trying MSC's Yacht Club in the future when I save up for trip. I like Mel's description "cruisers with benefits", that made me giggle. Enjoy the benefits!
I complain a lot, but I always recommend it. But the recommenfation comes with some warnings as you will discover throughout the vlogs. But: I always say: the only way to MSC is YC.
Thanks, great video, good to see you back! I want to love MSC and I’ve had two decent off-peak cruises with them. But there’s always some weird things that don’t make any sense and make things overcomplicated. The price, however, is always tempting!
Yes, the price is something I will get into further on. Today I focussed the weird and overcomplicatef, there was no other way 😅 Thanks for the support Chris!
Been looking forward to this series , we are ncl haven cruisers and always wondered what yatch club and msc are like you hear so many strange things and your video is off to a great amusing start . Think youll need to take a bottle with you to get thru the 1 hr muster briefing .thanks for another great video and can’t wait for the rest.great your back Bram
It's a quarter of the price when you compare the two. I guess you get what you pay for. I see the Prima class Haven has been getting a lot of complaints, paying a premium would really set me off. I you ever see me at an MSC muster drill again, I will be fully stocked with drinks! 😅
Oh boy… this is going to be a fun series! That dining room reminded me of my last Disney cruise, except the service is actually prompt and friendly and there are more kids.
@@BRAMSEASTHEDAY The irony of the Disney cruises is that, because the activities and kids’ clubs keep the little ones well-occupied, it’s very uncommon to see kids unsupervised and running wild on the ship in places or at times that they shouldn’t be.
Thanks for taking us along with you on you embarkation experience, not sure if MSC or the Yacht Club is for me based on what I'm seeing so far. looking forward to seeing the rest of your vlogs though. Hope you had a wonderful cruise.
Our experience of Yacht Club on MSC Euribia was completely different. From arriving at check in at Southampton to being on board, 10 minutes. Same table and waiters for all meals, service was quick but not rushed.
Hey bram. Good to see you back. Melanie is awesome. But the money for the yacht club is not worth it. You mentioned a few points. But the the worst thing for me would be the diner in the restaurant. The loudness was way too much und you had to wait for everything sooo long. But at least the food seems to be good. Looking forward for the next part.
Wow, they keep the passports? When did you get them back? And a little whinny about the restaurant Bram. They did a good job for a late dinner on the first day. If I am not rushing to a show, a relaxed dinner on vacation is what I am here for! And the linking of the CC is a real security measure that we should all be happy about. It helps prevents someone for booking a trip with someone else's card and then taking a trip on someone else's dime as has happened several times. They just need to work on the glitchy system and do that part at check in.
The passports were returned the next day. I wish they would have told us, so we wouldn't worry about it all day. I totally agree with a relaxed dinner. Note that we reserved this table at 9 pm (but were 10 min late) and we waited almost half an hour just to get a menu and order drinks. Like I said in the video, I'm happy to wait an hour, but at least give me a drink! My prosecco was served at 10 pm. And MSC has embarkation in every port, most people got on in Dubai, 2 days before! As for the cc, they accepted the card for the entire cruise already, why ask again? And why not do it at check in? I agree I was whining but isn't it standard service to get a drink order in and hand out the menu in the first 5 minutes of guest sitting down? Or at least acknowledge their arrival? And after waiting for almost an hour, they push a 3 course meal in under 20 minutes. Not my idea of a relaxed dinner (screaming baby incl). I didn't create this channel to pull people or cruise lines down, but to share my personal experiences. If MSC is honest, they will say I have a point.
you mention that you're worrying that you're complaining too much? Nope. I would be losing my mind. We don't do Haven on NCL but do Vibe and specialty dining only to avoid exactly some of the situations you encountered in the first two videos. Thanks for your transparency and opinions. Best wishes with your new friend and future adventures. Keep on living your best life possible!
I enjoyed this vlog, and I can sympathize with the long check in process, and butler tour guide, then the muster lesson, all before getting a drink!! All I want to do, on vacation, is get it started with a drink!! The dinner experience was painfully loud, and why are there young kids disrupting peoples meals at 930pm? And still strollers at the door at 11:15pm, 🫤. I love kids. I have 3, and 9grandchildren. I hope the next day goes smoother! 🥂
At dinner I kept thinking: if I was 10 years old, I would behave even worse if I'm still sitting at that table at 11 pm. It's not the kids, it's the parents. 🤷
I haven’t cruised with MSC yet. Waiting to see how the rest of this vlog series goes before I solidify my opinion. But so far it’s not looking so good for MSC. 😬
I hear ya Brandi. Every ship has a few things I wish other ships would have. And every ship has some things I personally wish they didn't. I still haven't figured out if the good outweigh the bad on MSC...
