The AGCO and SB weights have trailer hitches on them that work with most trailers. You may be able to connect your tipper directly to the weight in the future if needed instead of trying to get it into the bucket!
I was having that issue on No Man's Land. After adding the used mod. About the taters. I would at least double the sorters. It seems to be a choke point of your operation.
Recommendation - Maybe use the small field for your potatoes, and move the sorting machine closer to that (or under the washer like someone else suggested)? That way you can still benefit from growing potatoes without being overwhelmed by them. Love the content by the way.
If you have pigs already, then sure, but pigs for manure for greenhouses is a false economy. Looking after the pigs takes too much time. Also you get more taking the pigs manure to the bga than it costs to buy the manure in the first place.
i saw a comment on one of the first episodes of this series that said that difficulty changed the prices of grains but not for animals and that with that on hard difficulty pigs were actually worth it.
hey daggerwin even tho the prices of grains change with difficulty the price of animals don't change so on hard difficulty pigs are worth doing ( i saw someone pointing this out a lot of episodes ago)
@@yannchartier4899 pigs reproduce much faster than any other animal but with no sellable byproduct (except manure if you’re selling that i guess). The main source of income is selling the pigs themselves as they reproduce and unlike wool, milk, eggs, etc. which fluctuate in price based on difficulty, pigs always sell for $1K (-$100 for transport fee so 900) no matter what economic difficulty you’re on
Hey Daggerwin, this challenge series is fun, cheers. I was just at Modhub and saw a Bucks County, PA map mod. I would love to see you mess about in this map as that is where I grew up. I didn't see anything about it being based off of true topography but this game is good for making good looking environments. The New England country side is, irl, quite stunning.
Hi Daggerwin, I don't know if you saw it, but in the previous SC video I made a suggestion about the pig food. I'll copy the comment over and consider if it's a good idea... or not :P "For the Pig Food pallets produced by the sorter, may I suggest deleting the pallets and add in the money? A Pig Food pallet in game can be bought for a £1000, so you could "sell" them for £500, maybe £750? You've legitimately produced it, and I think that's a honest way of selling it". This system would be similar to how you've sold the hay pellet pallets in the Purbeck let's play. EDIT: To fix machinery you can go in the "Owned Items" section of the Shop menu.
The bottleneck on the potato sorting isn't the washer, its the sorter's speed. I would've added another one, possibly two, to make it work faster, churning through the mound of washed potatoes available to you.
Daggerwin excellent video and it shows all the effort you put in the Challenge mode. You could do beets next time as there's a 6m harvester on Kingmods, a respectable site, and considering how much time you've spent od washing and sorting them, you are better off selling them straight out of the field.
When it comes to doing potatoes, I found that using augers in between the washer then sorter make the process much faster, and less of a fuss. I still empty the clean spuds the same way you do it, but that could also be automated with augers, which would make all this much more enjoyable, all that remains is to sell and make big money!
Have you thought of purchasing a second potato sorter? Since the production is not really high of the sorter and it takes in smaller amounts of washed potatoes, you should be able to handle the output of both sorters. Just a thought I had while looking at the massive pile of potatoes that still have to be washed and sorted.
You should do silage bales. The mower, Baler and windrower are actually pretty affordable. The bale wrapper will set you back a bit. You can buy the field just to the left of your current property, I believe it’s field 25 and it has very few trees on it and you can bale the whole area and you should see a good return on it after a time or two of harvesting
Loving the series Daggerwin. Quick question. Presumably you have Weeds and Crop Destruction off? What about periodic Lime and Plowing? Haven't seen you lime anything. If you wanted to make it as hard as possible shouldn't you have all that turned on? You have inspired me to do a similar play through but I'm trying to leave everything on and not use super strength. I guess maybe you thought it would get boring to watch. Fantastic series anyway. Thank you
@6:39 well actually that is the technical term, the process is the complete fabrication of the premium potatoes following various steps, the sorting would be one of the procedures in that process, making it a process-procedure... so you accidentally got that absolutely 100% correct (kind regards; a production-process-engineer)
That rear weight looked like it had a trailer hitch on it; can you not attach the trailer to it while it's on the tractor? It'd have saved the hassle of trying to get it into the bucket at least, and would probably make it easier to load up with manure in the future.
You could get a multifruit silo extension and put the pigfood in there until you get pigs, also any regular potatoes, straw, hay, silage, manure etc that you want to stash for later
Doesn’t self marketing mod allow you to set up little farm shop stalls that give you extra sell points for stuff like pig food? Could be a way to make extra income off of them. They aren’t expensive to place from what I remember
Out of curiosity, why don't you place the potato sorter directly underneath the potato washing machine, then use a belt system underneath the sorting table to automatically load the trailer? Seem like it would cut out a large majority of the work, Just a thought.
Did you try to put the sorter directly under the output of the washer? Also maybe with 2 conveyor belts you could have fed the washer directly and fill the trailer out of the sorter directly. Worth a try?
Thank you so much Daggerwin, I had no clue which mood was causing that issue. I could not use my chainsaw, it made survival in no man’s land impossible lol.
An idea. Could you put a conveyor off the washer running into the separator then another conveyor running off the separator into a trailer? Then all you would have to do is keep the washer loaded and then go empty the trailer when needed?
Having your harvester needing maintenance will effect your yield. There is a couple of ways you can fix your harvester. F11 and if you go into your Owned Items in the shop menu you can repair each vehicle there.
Oh no, the harvester can't be serviced (I know through the garage menu)! Bringing back shades of Dennis' claas fire... Edit: side note: I haven't tried it, but could you place a reusable potato crate like you used in survival roleplay at the post sorting end of the sorter? Then you could have the Ferguson or rtv move the pallets and let the Massey work in other spots? Although that'd be a lot of pallets...
You could just get a couple pigs. I know usually they aren't worth it. But you would already be getting the food. That's what I would do. It would just add a little more to the series.
Washer and sorter has pushed potatoes into the same money as the others, potatoes, sugarbeets, carrots, onions for the win 😍 boring rapeseed harvests are a thing of the past
there's a "sell anything sellpoint" mod you could use to sell the pigfood (or anything else you can't sell normally) edit: you totally should get some pigs, maybe quite a few.. they produce manure after all, free fertilizer!
I want to see a new combine before new land. It looks like you want land before combine. I can see land part, but combine makes more sense to me. You even said maybe I should get upgraded my combine before land.

Ya you should get a trailer with a pin hitch so you can attach it to the Weights

You lose crop when the header is in need of maintenance and speed when the harvester itself is in need. DjGoHam did this experiment to see the effect.

Most utility tractors use skid steer style attachments. Bigger ag tractors are different.

Ideally shouldnt you either place the sorter under the drop point of the washer, or use a conveyor to run over to the sorter for constant flow?
