I'm impressed that you clocked this as Kalos from the very first drawn picture! I didn't even guess the location until I saw the little cafe with the Furfrou which immediately screamed Paris and thus Kalos and Lumiose City.
The weird thing that I noticed looking at it scrambled was that I thought Game Freak was making a reference to Sony of America's PS1 Commercial Slogan "U R Not E/ENOS", considering this year is the 30th anniversary of the Japanese launch of the Playstation 1 on December 3rd, 1994/September 9th, 1995. That's what I thought Game Freak was referencing considering they did work with Sony on publishing their games to the Super Famicom/Sony Playstation 1 prior to creating Pokemon in 1995/1996 for Nintendo and such.
I saw people on Twitter pointing out the Z - A, so it is either full circle or working backwards (in time) to the creation of Kalos' capital. The idea of the Pokémon 'Eiffel Tower' being built is super interesting. I just hope we can encounter an AZ Floette.
This is almost definitely based on Georges-Eugene Hausmann's renovation of Paris, which happened in 1853 to 1870. He designed, among other things, the place de l'Etoile which is the part of Paris that Lumiose city's design is based on (look up a picture). From what I've heard, Legends Arceus takes place around 1860-1880, so Z-A will probably be around the same year as Arceus. Maybe we'll get some recurring characters, especially since Gaeric from Sinnoh is the ancestor of Wulfric from Kalos. As a European history nerd i am so pumped for this game!!!! Furfrou my beloved.
13:53 no it’s. Not built they are building it The game will be set during lumiose’s redevelopment and we will watch it become the city it is today that’s what I got from it The trailer resembled blueprints Seems like the entire game is just lumiose city
@@alucard8433Alternatively it's set in the past alongside Legends Arceus, since the redevelopment of Paris happened around the same time Arceus is supposed to take place and Kalos is France.
My guess is that the game will be based in a pre-Lumiose city era and you will help build the actual Lumiose we know (what we see in the trailer is the ideal city mentioned not where you start). Gameplay could be substantially different from Arceus, I can see there being mission to be performed through a syncromachine-like feature. Like in Arceus, at the beginning Pokèmon-human relationship won't be idylliac but thanks to your action things will improve.
Yeah, that and the whole late 19th century "Verne period" of technological progress that culminated with the 1900 Paris Exposition could be the main inspiration.
I’m so excited for Z-A! in my opinion it’s gonna take place during a time period analogous to the renovation of Paris which happened in the 1850’s, so a similar concept to Arceus’s setting with the annexation of Hokkaido. I’m also thinking the story is gonna take us into the sewers and catacombs since a NoA tweet said it takes place entirely within Lumiose and while they could upscale the city a LOT, we’re still gonna want to have more to explore than just the streets
I'm shocked that you were able to guess that it was Kalos before the Pikachu started running around. I didn't realize it until I saw Lumiose Tower, which at least during the events of X & Y was Clemont's gym. I'm curious to see whether "Legends: Z-A" will take place before or after the events of X & Y. Most if not everyone was not expecting a Legends game set in Kalos to be called "Legends: Z-A". If X and Y were references to the x-axis and y-axis(considering Pokémon X & Y were the first 3D or 3DS games), could Z-A be referring to something in the field of math, science, or computers? As far as the fact that this comes out in 2025 goes, I hope that it comes out in November or December of 2025 rather than some time within the first half of 2025. After looking at the logo for a bit, I noticed something about the Z and A. While the Z has hexagons within it, the A has plant imagery within it. Assuming that the Z refers to Zygarde, the A might refer to a legendary or mythical Pokémon that will premier in this game. The symbol on the urban redevelopment plan for Lumiose City could be relevant to either Clemont, Lumiose City, Kalos, Lysandre, or something new. I'm curious to see its importance in this upcoming game. It'll be good to check the Japanese logo for "Pokémon Legends: Z-A" to see if it teases anything. I do hope that AZ's Eternal Flower Floette becomes a Pokémon that we can obtain or at least battle in this upcoming game. We've known about it and its signature move Light of Ruin for so long. As far as Mega Evolution is concerned, I hope that we get not just the Megas from X/Y and OR/AS, but also new Megas. I'd love to see Mega Evolutions for the Kalos starters, some Kalos Dex Pokémon, and others, especially a Mega for Flygon and Milotic. It always felt weird that the only Kalos Pokémon that could Mega Evolve was Diancie. There were Alolan Pokémon that had signature Z-Moves and Galarian Pokémon that could Gigantamax.
The text "a vision of BEAUTIFUL coexistence between people and Pokemon" was a huge hint for me. And keep in mind I'm a huge nerd about so many things, and architecture happens to be one of them. As soon as they showed us that sweet sweet Haussmann architecture, iconic to Paris, I new it was Lumiose. Here's a video about why most Kalos Pokemon don't have mega evolutions: ua-cam.com/video/3AP68wBYkr8/v-deo.html
@@CaylasCapsuleThat's fair. It's pretty cool that you were able to recognize the architecture shown in the trailer. Also, while the word "beautiful" reminds me of Kalos in general and Lysandre's motivations, I remember in the anime that Clemont wanted a "coexistence between people and Pokémon". I just finished watching the video that you left a link for. While I could see other Megas coming out due to the lore of OR/AS, Rayquaza, and the meteroids, I can understand why only certain Pokémon would be able to Mega Evolve. You made a good argument for it. It'll be fun to see the next trailer for this Legends game, whenever it eventually comes out.
AZ’s Floette. New mega forms for three starter Pokémon. Mega Mewtwo and Charizard Z. Other new Megas (Flygon???). Soooo many possibilities. Kalos is next to Paldea. Are we gonna see some lore cross over? It’s called Legends Z-A. We know a character called AZ. That’s not a mistake. What’s happening??? 😮😮
I remember seeing theories on the name being Pokémon Legends Z-A as a reference to AZ. Where the past would talk about the 3000 year war in some way. Others seem like they believe past Kalos might let us build up the city to present day Lumiose City. My hope for the possibility of regional forms or megas is that Flygon can get some love. A bug/dragon mega or new regional line from Trapinch. It was a shocking surprise but I want to see where the story of Pokémon Legends Z-A will go.
My guess is is that Legends Z - A involves both the past and the future, bc of Scarlet + Violet, the map going from futuristic lights to paper, and Z possibly representing the End and A possibly representing the beginning Also I saw someone (I don’t remember who; sorry!) point out that the A part looks like the Ultimate Weapon. That + AZ’s name makes me think that we also might see the weapon set off in this game! Somehow! All is just speculation though
Crazy that this is the most hyped presents in a while and yet it was the shortest with the least amount of news. Just goes to show how much people wanted legends Z and didnt even know it
I hope it's a game set in the future. It definitely isn't in the past as Lumiose as it is right now isn't a place where pokemon and people coexist. There aren't even wild pokemon in XY's version. Makes sense for it to be a remodeling of XY's city to include places where you can catch pokemon and habitats where pokemon can live, like all the water pokemon shown in the trailer.
@@CaylasCapsule Well unless the whole mission of the game was scrapped in the present and all the past pokemon were kicked out, it can't be the past and we know it's not the present XY because a japanese twitter account stated that it's not the Lumiose we know. There could also just be an alternate timeline as we know there's multiple timelines in the series.
@@1rkhachatryan I think this is more likely. The restructuring of Paris that happened in the 1800's that made it into a beautiful metropolis didn't survive the world wars intact. It wouldn't be a stretch to imagine that this redeveloped Lumiose also took steps back in the intervening century between Legends and X&Y.
The whole game takes place most likely within the city. I wonder how finding and capturing many different Pokemon within a city works like. Does Zygarde live inside Lumiose? It seems like it takes place in the 60s era of Lumiose or something like that. Kalos makes some sense. France is close to Spain!
People are saying it’s still a past game but I completely disagree, it says in the trailer that they are trying to redevelop the city so that it works for both people AND pokemon, and the lumiose we know today really only works for people Plus it would just work so well to have arceus- past SV-present -and Z-A- future
