My son is in dimensions 1B and 2nd grade MWC. I think MWC does a much better job at helping the parents teach the basics, but Dimensions problems take the student farther mathematically and give the student more creative ways to approach and do problems ….at least in the lower levels for sure. So if you pick up dimensions you might need to go back half a level unless your child is very good at extrapolating information from what they already have learned.
We only use the workbook if needed as well! Or I transfer those problems onto a whiteboard because something about it not being a paper page is magic to my boy. 😅 works great!
Not sure on every chapter, sometimes it says "answers may vary" but that is usually because they can use any of the previously taught methods to work out the problem. Hope that helps!
We do Dimensions math too. The only thing I don't like is the subscription videos. For us is kind of boring and you need to scroll a huge list to get each video. It is not cheap and for the amount I'd expect a better quality service. Otherwise, we love it. We started using the test books and they are a great way to practice and my son likes the "test idea". Love your videos! Always super informative!
This year is our first year trying the subscription service. I do agree with the annoyance of the scrolling to find your next video. We have definitely found our groove with Dimensions and I love how well it works. Thanks for watching!

Yes MWC always looked good, but they haven't created the levels we would ever need to be at. Very similar teaching from what I can tell :)

Dimensions is one of the most advanced methods of Singapore math. So I agree students would need to take an assessment before starting. 😀

Same thing here! I often move questions off the paper, we have a large grid board that seems to make math much more enjoyable!
