Your attitude is absolutely the best! Not having a helper this day most guys would have just not done anything. This is the difference between a self accomplishment and someone who-doesn’t care.

Working alone is great unless it's something you just can't handle alone.
Guess it depends on personal preference.

What we do on toprail, is set posts' 10ft, then on the third post cut the toprail right in the middle of the saddle, then butt-up the next section of top-rail to it and weld it over the top then around the saddle.....

Maybe it would be beneficial when building a fence to jack up the middle of the top rail ever so slightly so that when you weld the rail in place, it would take out the bend down in the middle of two posts.

I'm sure you've mentioned it a hundred times before, but why don't you join the top rail at the middle of the posts?

I started welding it up hill, with 6010 or 8010 instead of down, years ago, and now I almost never have any problems with warping.
    It also helps with magnetism.

Really loving the videos, I'm thinking about doing pipe fence and stuff after I get my welding degree. There doesn't seem to be any people doing it in my area (Mid-Ohio Valley), there are a lot of farms and stuff that I believe could use it as well.

Nice work. So how long are each of those top rail pieces? Yep it would be a terrific to figure out some kind of cart/Dolly/something to move that stuff around with. If you’re ever in a real tight spot, hard to get your body between your work and a bunch of sticker bushes especially, stand up a sheet of plywood to hold back the bushes.

Awesome video austin! Hey, quick question about seam location. I used to work with a lot of handrail, and we would always position the splice to land on top of the post rather than off to the side like you have done. Is it just preference or have you had the best luck running it that way. Thanks as always!
