Thanks for another Dolores Gray Video she was very talented although I remember Jo Stafford’s version on radio though but Ed had an eye for talent from the entire entertainment spectrum. Have a great day!
I would love to see Metropolitan Opera tenor Nino Martini's performance on this episode. I don't think there is any live footage of him available on here. Dean Martin was an admirer of his talent and, early in his career, billed himself as Dino Martini as a tribute, before he decided on using the last name Martin instead. I don't know what Nino sang, as I can't find any listing, but it would be great to see him sing on the Sullivan show.
This wasn’t a song from a musical play? That was a lot of “background props and performers” for a stand alone song. I’ve heard the song before. But I wasn’t born when Jo Stanford and then Delores Gray recorded it.
For a man who had the personality and charisma of tree stump (at least on screen - he NEVER seemed at ease in front of the camera), Ed Sullivan was shrewd and smart. He had an eye for spotting talent and highlighting that to a national audience.
@@AdrianDeVore - You're right, he wasn't. I was commenting on the way he came across onscreen (personality wise - or more accurately, lack thereof) But since you mentioned it, he had the appearance of a mortician at a local funeral parlor......
Lovely lady with a lovely voice!I 😊
She was such a talent.

My parents played this 78 all the time
Loved this song, from my very early childhood.
