I've been there myself. Hades temperature changes depending on which land you go to. Tartus is colder than even the deepest darkest reaches of space. Styx is hot and burns those who dare to drink or touch its waters.
Elysium is warm and welcoming, with a peaceful atmosphere. Asphodald changes between warm and cold. Which makes living there tough. And quite scary.

I really liked the visit with Tirek. Especially when Tirek said that Doc was weak. Doc's resolve in his beliefs was strong enough to realize Tirek was trying to play him and shut him down. Everyone's power is different. Tirek's is manipulation and trickery, while Doc's is wits and resolve. Unrelenting force vs Immovable Object. In Tirek's world view, he will never understand that resolve can match power any day. Ironically, Tirek called Doc weak, yet Doc is stronger than him.
Sorin Stokkr Perhaps, but you can see it in his facial expressions. His will has cracked, it is not broken, but cracked.
I understand, but my point is that Doc didn't cave in. He took a blow, but he didn't move. He's questioning his existence, not his friends. Edit: Note I said, " his beliefs were strong enough", I'm arguing Tirek's power logic, and how Doc is more powerful because his will cracked, but didn't shatter like what Tirek wanted it too.
Tirek only relies on manipulation when he's at a disadvantage of strength. Once he has enough power he'll just crush you. Completely merciless.
Alas, his resolve may remain strong, but his will cracked big time.
It's true, Doc manages to overpower Tirek at the end and won.

Tirek strikes as as that type of villain that has tied everything to their philosophy, and will do everything they can to prove they are right because that’s all they have left.
They believe so ardently that even evidence to the contrary would be brushed aside because they cannot allow themselves to think that they may be wrong.
Way to hit the nail on the head.
Same thing with MCU Thanos.
It's almost like he's interviewing a mix of Hitler and Dr. Lector.
Then who will be his "pen pal" that will join him in a cell nearby: -> Stalin?

Or worse! The emotions though, the play on your backstory, the idea that you could have been manipulated but will never know? Wow that's dark and deep. I can't imagine how a conversation with Chrysalis will go if ever given the chance!

I like this Dr Wolf look. the expressions, the confidence, the sass. Very smooth.
I _really_ like how Dr. Wolf left the medallion there with Tirek. Something about that just felt... _right._ It was always his to begin with, anyway. His and his brother's. The fact that he kept it at the end gives me some hope for him yet.

I sympathize with this terek. One betrayal can change everything. Ive become much more introverted and i guess sad from my betrayals but like some one said "the kindest people have felt the most pain" ive lost count of the amount of friends that have either betrayed or left me. To a point where theres a i guess titanium wall around my heart to protect it from that type of pain. When you first meet me and i dont trust you you'll be seeing a shy and quiet personality because i basically Trying to prevent more pain.
And the last scene i knew because when your alone theres no one to impress or see you. Then you release every thing you don't want anyone to see including tears.
Same I've closed myself off after many betrayals in the past even my mom I can't trust her anymore to prevent getting hurt again.ive got a feeling we are quite similar
@@abbeyjane5014 yeah... basically you know i trust you if i let you see me cry intentionally. And only 3 people and one stuffed animal know that. The worst betrayal is i faked my disappearance and went into a alter ego and saw how my friends reacted to my "disappearance" one said he missed me and when i came back with my defult skin he denied it. That hurt more then Anything. The only thing that came close was the first time i was betrayed
First time watching one of these. I always thought that Tirek was beyond reformation, but I held on to the thought that maybe if he saw Scorpan again, he might change his ways. You expanded on that idea so much, and it was amazing.

Tirek is a surprisingly good manipulator. And you good Doctor are surprisingly resolute.

While in my opinion parts of the therapy session feel like they're setting up for Dr. Wolf to turn evil due to a little dark magic which would be pretty cool so it could happen

It also begs the question as to why Twilight hasn't done this.
So, out of all these "Character's Therapy Visit" videos, I think this one might be my favorite! You nailed Tirek both in voice and manipulation, and he raised some interesting questions regarding Doc. Not to mention that somber ending shot...just wow. Also, I now someday hope for a Therapy Visit with Chrysalis and Chancellor Neighsay.

The BEST thing here is the SCRIPT. Specially the correct characterization of Tirek and the great use of his "noble lingo" and expressions (unique from whatever kingdom he and Scorpan grew up in the Badlands).
Yeah, I'd like to see a conversation with Gallus and the doc about the isolation he feels as an orphan, Smolder about her peer pressure and maybe Silver Stream about her P.T.S.D. And after that finale, I can't wait to see what Dr Wolf does with Cozy Glow

Probably my favorite Dr. Wolf video alongside the Keyframe one. Love how Tirek emotionally challenges Dr. Wolf with the thought that he’s brainwashed to help ponies, and how Wolf chooses to continue his job because not only does it genuinely help other creatures, but it gives his own life purpose. A real meaning.

For a moment, i felt almost shocked that he'd broken the doc.... but then I realized that I feel nothing but pity for Tirek. In some ways.... we all are like that when we've been alone for so long, the madness of being deluded with power for the sake of it.... no wonder people who seek it are the most lonely of individuals. feeling cast out due to the actions of one's self... feeling of loosing the love of your life due to a circumstance... or feeling the pain of someone you cared for betray you. It's an irony of a sort.
So in other words he's beyond redemption

By far my favorite Moment With Dr. Wolf episode. Having Tirek almost break the good Doctor was freaking brilliant! Now I want to see a Dr. Wolf centered arc that tests his limits and the "it's good to be helping" mantra. You know, like the Thunder Blight arcs. Not suggesting yet another evil clone, of course, as that would get repetitive. Maybe some form of mind control or nightmare trap? I dunno, just spit-balling at this point.

There s an origin story on his channel that explores his backstory.
If Dr Wolf was magically influenced to behave differently from other wolves then how come he has no magic. Wouldn't Tirek just take away that influence and cause Doc to become a normal wolf?

The idea behind the magic I think is that the magic you are born with is what's taken. Doctor wolf was transformed into an anthropomorphic being and then that became his physical form. Whatever spell his "master cast on him" it's effects have already run its course.

I like it. This was your best therapy session to date. This reminds me of a story concept I have. In any case, great job and I can't wait for the next one. Who will it be? Star Swirl? Big Mac? Derpy Hooves? Chrysalis? Sombra?
Or maybe another group therapy session with lesser villains like the Film Flam Brothers, Gladmane, Svengallop and Suri Polomare. This last idea might be interesting to see how business related villains might react with one another, and also gives a perspective on the real world issue on corruption.
I would like to see Granny Smith and Gran Pear have a talk to Dr. Wolf about the feud that cause Gran Pear come back to Ponyvile on the guilt of leaving Pear Butter (Buttercup)

I don't know it seems like Tirek has chosen his own path. He thought for himself decided what he wanted and strived to achieve it.
Doctor wolf was thought to care, was thought to always help.
Seems for a part that Tirek has a better grasp on his choice and what it would cost, it may hurt him but he took the choice knowingly.
If we accept that the doctor chose his own path and not just followed one set up for him then his chosen path is one that fits far better in society but that does not make it a better choice in of itself, just one with happier results.
It comes down to what one values in live I suppose. Is being happy really the purpose of life or is there something bigger?
I can only say for sure that i have often admired the villains in stories because they decided for themselves what they wanted and took action to achieve their goals. And if they are really competed then they can life happy lives. Tirek is only really in the wrong here because he has a sad life, he ended in a cage. But if that is the case then the argument really comes down to the fact that he has a sad life because he lost. Had he won then it would be entire matter al together. The storm king seemed happy enough until he was defeated.
Maybe the path chosen does not matter only the power and skill to achieve ones goals
The ambience chilling, the client mildly terrifying, and the overall presentation and experience riveting Beyond The Pale ability of words to describe. Or to put it more simply this is quite possibly one of the best and most riveting episodes of your moments doctor and I wish you a long and prosperous life dr. Wolf and your lady as well 😉.

6 months since this comment, how time flies. If this was canon, I could see Tirek taking this advice in a different way. As a motive for pen-paling and becoming "friends" with Cozy' Glow.

man... the emotions in this Moment.... the integration with your backstory..... the possibility that you've might of been brainwashed by your former "Master"...... i was scared that it might have been enough ti break you...... but i'm glad it didn't, that you stood firmly on your beliefs, and where able to, at least in small part, give a new perspective to Tirek, keep on helping others Doc, always stay strong, cause i do belive that you can make a diffrence by letting others listen.

Very impressive production Dr. Wolf, great philosophical points on the fulfillment of identity, how a person most fulfills their potential when serving others. Very well done.
I know I've already commented, but I must say this was deep, particularly at the end.
Whenever someone brings up that "two sorts of beings" fallacy, I can't help thinking of a quote from Robert Benchley:

at first I was worried about dr. wolf's session with tirek, but I was releaved that he manage to make it out of it, and it's also a good thing that doc didn't have any actual magic in him, or else that bull headed centaur would've already escaped by now.

@@cottoncandyswirl8289 You didn't hurt my feelings. I was just being honest because it's one of my personality traits. I'm too soft hearted for my own good. But a lot of my friends tell me that it's a good thing because it shows that I sincerely care about those around me.
Tirek in this video definitely is an example of someone who has "Master Morality". He embraces being a would-be World Conquerer cause he's following his "True Will". And if you follow a path in life you have to be sure it's the path you long for, and if your victorious so be it, and if you fail, or if it costs you everything so be it.
As it pans away from Tirek as he clutches the medallion, you can almost hear a voice in the wind:

I can imagine Sonata's Therapy Visit:
"Adagio and Aria have not talked with me or with each other since the day our amulets got destroyed. I thought after thousand years together in the Human world, we would be friends. Although they where often mean to me, especially Aria, I really enjoyed singing with them. Writing songs, practicing our choreographys, we never needed to do that in Equestria. But all that ended when our amulets got destroyed. But now that I think back, my biggest regret is I can no longer hypnotize people and watch them fight anymore."
I enjoyed all previous therapy visits Dr. Wolf has had from Equestria, but even when I enjoy the next one, which I have no doubt of, this one will be the most memorable one of all, always.

Actually really well written. Tirek was in full character while also having strong arguments. He's the perfect antithesis of FiM because he challenges the notion of friendship inherently.
See this is why Tirek is my favorite villain in anything. He tossed everything away in pursuit of his power. And when Scorpan betrayed him, even that couldnt sway Tirek. He just kept moving on with his ambition for power. And its that resolve that makes him interesting. When he got banished to Tartarus, he truly had nothing. No friends, no family. Not even the power he so desperately wanted. And I feel like he wanted that power at first because why not. But now I feel like he wants power to give himself a goal and set himself away from the painful memories of his brother
Not only did I get shivers down my spine while watching this, but I also kept picturing Hannibal Lecter in Tirek's place and Clarice Starling in yours, Dr. Wolf!

Daaaaaaaannnnngggg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dark! Awesome! But Dark! I just with the show treated the villains like this rather than redeeming them every other season. To me this had the classic 80's early 90's good verses evil stand-off. Masterfully done Doc! Your best work yet!
Wow, that was soon deep. I don't think I have ever felt this way before, you did a great job on Tirek's visit and I hope that someday he will realise that what he did in the past "WAS" a mistake and he'll finally change for the better.
Interesting take on this...it's honestly one of the first of these therapy visits I've seen, and it's interesting none the less. This path to take, fiction or not, to help and understand ones like Tirek and others, is a very VERY slippery path that could corrupt or ruin one's life, that kind of mental strength is one not many have.
I'm really impressed with the portrayal of both characters in this skit. I was thinking two things about Tirek near the start of this that I was waiting for to see, and I found both accounts. Number one: Tirek is also a psychologist of his own, a master mental manipulator who would try to get the upper hand on this conversation. I did not know how he would exploit that, only that he'd try the moment I heard it I had deep respect for this portrayal. The second thing I waited to hear was the fact he would not be turned by a single conversation since he's far too dead set in his ways. At most Dr Wolf should be able to plant a seed in him, and that seems all he managed to accomplish. Very well done. Like me, I get the feeling that the author of Dr Wolf is not a true psychologist but nevertheless has an interest and even talent in the matter. I realize this is a very long shot considering all the youtube comments you get, but after seeing this video I have very deep respect for the author of this script when it comes to keeping with the spirit of the characters, both of them in this case. I wrote a fanfic of my own I'd very much like you to see and would appricate your feedback as a review to it in the hopes of drawing upon your knowledge and understanding of the characters in the hopes that I have portrayed them well myself. Even though Tirek is is imprisoned, it was still really brave of Dr. Wolf to go into that world (dimension?) and face him!
I've obviously miss a key episode of this, since I don't know who Dr. Wolf's "master" is and I confess to being a little creeped out to hear him refer to anyone as his "master". I had wondered why in some episodes, he stands upright, but in others he walks on all fours like a regular wolf.
He is SO right about no one being an island!
