The risk of cheating at Brandon’s level and fame is way too high especially since he had tons of remote passes
I totally believe that Brandon is NOT a spoofer or cheater in Pokemon Go, but in reply to the above comment, no amount of fame or experience/level means that a person will not cheat. Cheaters are cheaters and if a person got to their level through cheating, they're going to continue to cheat. Again, I'll repeat, I do not believe Brandon is a spoofer or cheater

Anyone who plays PoGo at a high level is breaking the ToS in some way or another, either by using a hundo tracker, a phone swing, or having multiple accounts. In order to play this game at a high level, you kind of have to “cheat” in one way or another.

I have 1-2k or candys for a couple Pokémon which is very easy fr can do it in a day if they have a event going on etc and I just started this year account was made back in 2019 but just grind and one day you’ll have that easily he’s played since the game came out 2016 and it’s his job 9-5 sometimes he’s on 12 hours plus a day ...so it’s nothing someone can’t do

TL;DR someone tried to frame BT91 as one his Mewtwo does not have 'remotely caught at a raid' as said Mewtwo was caught in Olso, Norway on 22 July 2021 [Note: BT91 cannot travel out of SG due to travel restrictions]. This glitch occurs when your GPS is cut off [can happen when you are on the road or in an elevator]

I've had the exact same thing happening to me, several times and I did a double take like "whut, what do you mean Tokyo?" But the location corrected before I had the time to take a screenshot
It does that with my eggs. It will say I caught it somewhere I’ve been but then switch to the correct location. Idk if it’s specifically Japan but I’ve been there when I just got Pokémon Go.

Occasionally when the geolocation of the caught Pokémon won’t load, it will often say Tokyo, Japan as a placeholder. I’ve never been to Asia, let alone Japan. I am in Canada.
Yep! This happens to myself on a regular basis, and I’ve never spoofed, but I do lots of remote raids.

Thank you for this video! That explains why some of my caught raids say different locations than where I am at. Hopefully they can fix that issue in the near future for us hard-core grinders.

This glitch makes a lot of sense actually. Obviously Niantic didn’t code for this possibility, so it just defaults to the location of the gym.
You shouldn’t have to have to explain yourself. I know with the current incorrect bans going out it must be scary for you as this is your livelihood. For someone that puts so much time, effort and money into the game shouldn’t have to worry about these kind of things. You’re a legend and a true inspiration to the entire Pokémon GO community 👍🏼 keep up the amazing work and videos!

Same here. I was invited by someone from a worldwide discord in Shibuya, Tokyo for a Mewtu Raid a couple of weeks ago. It did not properly show the location, instead it looked like I handcaught it in Japan.
Worst part is: instead of admiring and striving to be like other high Level players, many players react with jealousy and hate. It's a shame

I have raided in Singapore remotely (but not in the elevator) with friends there. We captured a Xerneas in Singapore after many excellent throws. We live in Sweden like your friend in Kalmar but we live close to Denmark. When I am close to the beach or in a forest near the beach my location changes from Sweden to Denmark but I did not know that Sweden now is close to Singapore. I am just joking. Cool video Mr. Tan! I'm not sure but I think it's cause of the "Google location accuracy". I turned it off in settings and it didn't run like that anymore.
Me too. But I actually want it that way. At night, I just let my game open and through drifts I am able to hatch eggs at home. My game only drifts specifically at our bed room. Not in any other part of our house. Maybe on not so open areas the gps gets messed up and that happens to be like that.

Lol Brandon I had the same issue with one of my yvetal, it’s just a visual glitch with some Pokemon, I’m guessing when you leave and re-enter a remote raid, it breaks the Geo tag.

Well yeah cause it's like being a 100% deoxys to the master league. That deoxys is not going to perform good at all in the master league cause it's cp caps out somewhere around the 2000 mark. It will be competing with monsters like dialga who can go up to 4800 cp. In Brandon's case his hundo mewtwo is of no use to him because shadow mewtwo just outclasses the regular mewtwo by a mile. If you have access to as many shadow mewtwos as Brandon does then that normal hundo mewtwo would have been no use to you too. I know not everyone has Brandon's life but don't go selling an arm or a leg for a hundo mewtwo if you could get a hundo shadow mewtwo too

I got the same thing.... When you run away from the pokemon when you've finished the raid but you can still catch it later.... It counts as if you caught it in real gps. But if you got to a raid and catch the pokemon right after it will say you caught it there.

Hi Brandon. Not sure how much you read the comments but I'll try. What do you think about the idea of introducing capsuls to increase IVs in PoGo, just like in the games. You've mentioned how frustrating RNG and grinding can be in PoGo for many players and I think such a mechanic can make PvP players very happy since they can modify IVs to get higher perfoming or optimal Pokemon. From Niantic's perspective you'd think they wouldn't like it since it might reduce the number of raids done by players, but people still need to raid for XL candy and doing 216 raids or more for the hundo you love is just unreasonable. To keep the "collector" aspect of hundos (or even shundos) I think it should show when you appraise Pokemon that the IV has been modified (with a different color maybe) so that you know that it isn't a perfect hundo or what. Also, the entry in the new Pokedex for hundos should not be unlocked since it isn't a perfect hundo but a modified one. Finally, these "capsuls" or whatever should be hard to obtain so that you would prioritize 98-96% Pokemon, thus still pushing you to obtain high IVs in raids or by other means.
I think this could alleviate a lot of the stress and frustration of some players grinding the game. It would make the experience more fun. You have a big voice in the community is why I'm reaching out. If you think something like this would at all be interesting, who knows.

So according to your plan instead of finally catching a 98% Dialga in like 60+ raids, buying a lot of remote raid passes in the process, I could have done just one raid, then feed my one Dialga a bunch of capsules and "BAAAAMM"... Hundoooo!

Well, to answer your question, I do wish items like ability capsules or bottle caps comes to Pokemon GO. However, like how u have explained the reason to keep certain Pokemon being collectibles. In time, I'm sure we will see such items introduced to PoGo. Even breeding or abilities r held items ain't in PoGo yet. Still got to waittttttt for those I guess 🙃

Brandon! I had the same issue last month.. I was on a military installation where my character was nonstop drifting and basically teleporting.. I kept getting kicked from raids last second because the game couldn't track my GPS location. I looked back through my mons after watching this and I have one mon it says I caught in GA when I was actually in VA.

I live in Tokyo, and when I raid Pokémon in areas such as Shibuya City, Taito City, it almost always shows up as caught in Minato City.

You have nothing to worry about. Niantic don't personally ban people, except that time when Brandon got banned for exploiting PoGO to make money, they have an automatic system in the game itself that detects if a 3rd party program is used and bans people. So, use your brain instead of watching some stupid video make for views.

Fun fact if you're raiding a pokemon with a special featured move, it will not have that move if your GPS is gone. At least that happened to a Zapdos of mine back during it's ultra unlock a few years back
