Pete - I am playing 25nl and trying to move up in stakes. This session today about the small pots is just amazing and so important. Thank you!

I’m noticing lots of spots where I am having a bit more of a think about things on turns and rivers and taking it down when I bet where I would have previously just checked it back. It’s such a common spot!

27:30 so if u were in villains shoes and hero bet 75% pot. Would you fold AT? that didn’t seem to be in the range she said she was beating that calls. I understand AT isnt great here and i would expect to fold to a 3rd bet on the river. But I wouldn’t expect to fold to a medium turn bet

Great coaching session, these mundane spots are great to see since they're so common.

One of the main problems i run into in small pots is the opponent is usually fairly stationy.
I am not really sure how to get these people to fold, especially if i just have a high equity bluff on the turn and brick the river.
Also on the hand with the Kh river, in that pool, people are way too passive, so if they are even slightly nervous, they will usually check behind.
As the OOP player in that situation, i would love to be able to check, and raise or all in if they bluff at it, if i have a straight or a flush, but in general pool is almost never going to bluff at that point and they are more than happy to check behind if they do not have the flush.
I think as the OOP player, the best thing to do would be to block bet and hope they raise, if you have the straight or flush.
Assuming you will be playing against this person for a while, that sets up your later block bet bluffs as possibly meaning that they lose if they call the block bet.
Thereby increasing fold equity at the table against all players with the block bet bluff.
Of course, this is a pure IME based on what i have faced out there in the world, so i am not saying this will always work.

love the first 10jos discussion. Based on the videos with Mark I also made the changes you now suggested to Jess. Current killing 25nl pool on GG (probably running hot as well). Yesterday and today first attempt at 50nl (went well). Any idea until which levels this quite easy exploid will work??). Question to Jess. Why playing rush and cash and not the regular tables. These are much weaker!!

    • @jessica_tee
      @jessica_tee Рік тому

I think the game selection tools on GG aren’t great for regular tables and I get tired of jumping around different tables. I do sometimes play regular tables off stream but on stream it’s just so much easier to play rush n cash instead.
      Good luck at 50nl!!

@@jessica_tee i agree it hard work. But tools are quite ok. I put myself on the waiting list for all players with a vpip above 50. And when the table pups up i only accept if players is not in one of the two spits to the left. Although rake is lower at rush and cash my win rate is much higher at regular tables. For screening in twitch rush and cash is of course much more fun for the viewers

I'm not good english speaker so I'm have some struggle to understand the comments of first hand's river part. Is he mean that she should call with jto cause that spot is overbluff spot for villain? Which mean that villain tend to bluffs more often than they need to?

Those are equities of actual hands as recorded. The important thing to discuss are equities against assumed ranges bc until the hand is over the results are unknown.

@@jessica_tee So it's interesting that the fold on Qs you still had 70% equity so the opponent's range was still merged. Although upto 100nl pools are very nitty on Pokerstars; there are villains capable of exploiting pool and betting semibluffs. Identifying the latter is difficult,. I have found that the only way to do so is to watch hands they are involved in and take notes,😊 they are aggressive, show down rarely and when they are called they do not have what they are representing 90% of the time. If you know these villain's tendencies and play accordingly you will be well on the way to beating pool. I must catch up on your stream at some point to see the progress. EDIT: just noticed you are on GG 😂
