Ken, thanks! The beauty is astounding. Red roof, to make it more visible, from afar? The Cog Railway, might also be an interesting journey. I have visited The White Mountains, driven past the Mt Washington Hotel, too. Pretty, & rugged country.
As I listen to your comments and also the tone of your voice, I believe that you are a very sensitive and caring person. Two very nice attributes to have on your journey through life.
Wow Ken, just the hotel itself is breathtaking I could only imagine what the mountains in the background would look like in the winter. AMAZING VIDEO my friend!!! 👍👍
Spectacular place. Mt Washington will be a great visit. Highest sustained wind speed ever recorded on earth I believe. Has a cog type rail system to the top. Btw Peter Coyote has nothing on you in the voice department. Thanks Ken for the great videos.
Great Video, Ken, it brought back a lot of fond memories of our many vacations to this area of New Hampshire. I almost became a resident back in the mid 1980's when I was picked for a state/ county job but the economy went poorly so the state started laying off people and by their Union contract could "bump" new employees which happened, so I lost out and had to stay in Connecticut. We stopped at the Washington Hotel once for lunch and oh my yes, the building is magnificent! This video made my day Thanks Ken!
In August of this year my husband and i were driving through the area at 2 in the morning....had to get a closer look...so i drove up to the hotel. Only to be stopped be the security guard....we were told to pull over and walk through the hotel to experience it! IT'S OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! Planning on going back soon to experience it in the daylight.
Very nice video. Iam a conway native, i haved lived my whole 64 years here so far, hopefully for a whole lot more years. A company in north conway i worked for, celebrated 25 years of business, here at this hotel. They let each employee bring one guest, they got rooms for all of us to stay the night. Had a wonderful dinner, and open bar with a live band. We all felt like Royality for one night anyways. The grand staircase alone is breathtaking. There is a massive fireplace in the main lobby, big enough to park a small car in.. Look at me rambling on and on. Glad you did this video.
Drove by there yesterday on our way to No.Conway. Stayed there a few years ago when Rotary held a convention there. It's an amazing place; albeit not for the wallet...lol
You make me want to move to your area with this view. AMAZING the TALENTS these Italian men and women had to build this. I would love to see and feel the stones and woodworking. I love the smells of woods. My dad was a wonderful woodcarver, build furniture, remodel kitchen for my mom. One cabinet at a time. This way she could use the kitchen. He died in 2007 at 85. He was from a mountain village in Germany 🇩🇪. He was skiing at two years old. I had the BEST parent's. This is why I appreciate your workmanship KEN and Krew and AL& GINA GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR WIFE. I hope she is feeling BETTER. CHOW FROM S E MICHIGAN 🀄
I remember the 'Old Man Of The Mountain' and when flying up to Maine we'd be over the coast in a small plane and you could see snow capped Mt. Washington a hundred miles away. It almost didn't look like the east coast. Bretton Woods is where the Dollar was established as the world currency in the 1940's.
@@kensscenicjourneys7190 there was several grand hotels in New Hampshire back in the day. A video of the others would be interesting, depending on how much information is available about them. One of them was in Tamworth. My family was staying in a little place back in the 60s when someone broke in and set the abandoned hotel on fire. It was a huge fire. There was also one in Mont Vernon.
thanks so much for going to the Mt Washington Hotel!! By the train station was the Application Mountain Club its a wonderful green build and Hotel also, me and my daughter would go there for Easter egg hunts and to build gingerbread houses in the winter.I would also goto there Mt Washington Hotel with a dear friend at least once a month for lunch to sit and look at the view.they have out door dining at ground level in the back of the hotel and bon an upper porch and inside dining on the back of the hotel with the wonderful views. I would go there in the winter tubing and snowshoeing with my daughter, and they have a fun Mardi Gras party in February, you also don't need to be staying at the hotel to do all these activities.I will hopefully return to live in New Hampshire one day.Ken was that Elephant Head that you climbed?
nice place have to have my butler bring me up for a stay maybe extended witch i also could afford do they have grey Poupon just kidding i was at mount Washington wish saw next time great job Ken
Your video was about the hotel, but I was so struck by the chapel. Built in 1906. So long ago, in a long lost era. Our technology was in its infancy. Craftsmanship deluxe. It seems so timeless, with such a sense of serenity. Thank you for sharing!
Hi Ken - You’re videos of Waterford and now the Mt. Wash are delightful! Not only did I live in Waterford, I worked at the Mt. Wash for about 5 years. My husband worked there on and off over a period of 30 years! I met him there. Indeed, it is a ‘grand’ hotel. I’m looking forward to returning for a visit soon. On another note, I remember seeing your van scooting around the area! Thanks, Ken! - bonnie
My wife and I have been watching the new channel when we have breakfast together and both enjoy it. Thinking of a road trip up that way for fall foliage.
Wow what a setting for a Hotel he for sure the owner Clever to have a Hotel Built there Thanks Ken Awesome Vlog did i hear you say you want to paint the doors lol J/K
Hi Ken. I enjoyed your Mount Washington video a ton. I was up there on June first of this summer. Took the Cog Railway up to the summit and stopped buy the hotel afterwards to take a few pictures . Most beautiful place I've been to yet.
Likely one of the major highlights of this property, is the Bretton Woods Monetary Conference of 1944 which placed a rebuilding world on the gold standard. The villas that once housed the Italian workers are still there today, behind the main hotel. There were also other hotels in this area, not as impressive as the main hotel. Crawford House, Fabyans House the Bretton Arms and the Mount Pleasant are all examples. Also, the main hotel is open for general public visitors. But leave the drone in the car. 🌆
Your encounter with Moose was actually a golf course for the nearby Crawford's House. A really good book that delves into this Mount Washington Hotel property is "And then there was one." by George McAvoy. One question that is asked is whether this property is haunted? As former security including numerous overnight shifts the answer is no. Supernatural does exist. There have been numerous Carolyn Stickney sightings she always looks lonely and sad. There is also a prohibition era bar called The Cave where there has been activity long after it's was closed and locked for the evening. 🥂
Beautiful area Ken. White mountains are cool. The Stone Chapel is nice. Wow, that hotel is beautiful from the outside. Golf course too? Wow, a railroad right to the Hotel! I like all the octagons they used in the Hotel. Is it used as a hotel now or is it a museum? Thanks for this Ken. Amazing to think that so many rich people would come there to stay. It's a very picturesque place to have a big, beautiful hotel.
I toured Mount Washington Hotel and I looked into booking a room. The average price was $800 a night. I could fly over to Ireland and stay in a castle for $200 a night at the prices are ridiculous
Beautiful scenery. . . . alright, Italian masons built the hotel. . . . so where is the pizza fast food place? (No need to remind me that Italian pizza is different from American pizza. Also, my favourite is Hawaiian pizza so you know where I live.) 😊

Last week you said when the dam was built, the waters flooded Waterford and was now under 60 feet of water. Then today you say you are driving through Waterford. You must have experienced a severe drought in the last week.
My wife and I stayed for our 20th anniversary...amazing stay, place and staff! Worth every penny!
