I hope she really did find her inner peace. Watching her talk about her children & grandchildren is heartbreaking. RIP Miss Betty.

We loved her. Beautiful, talented, full of energy for living.
Some who have a tragic childhood succeed to overcome it in one small place in their lives. Others don't. Who can say which will be it.

Betty Hutton - was quite a talented singer, dancer and the energy she certainly had tons of it! I wished her life turned out better.

I'm reading Kristin Hersh's book "Rat Girl". Kristin and Betty went to college together. Betty seems so cool for doing it all on her terms.

What she's not saying, is that by all accounts, she became impossible to work with. And she couldn't adapt. You can sense how conflicted she is here because she really doesn't pause for breath. It's all very sad, but big stars who made huge money for the studios, get dropped for good reasons. Monroe, Garland, weren't fired easily. The industry creates these monsters with huge egos, so the ball is in their court - but why did Doris Day for example not only adapt, but shine in films that were nothing like her early work? Easy to work with. Reliable. No tantrums would be my guess.

What a precious human being. Her brutal honesty and humbleness is just adorable. What a shame that her children couldn't get past it. It looks like she did okay in the end. And that is all that matters

you know something i really liked her, ive seen her films and her innocence shines through, she was sensitive, and beautiful, Aquarians should never marry, its not their nature.

Great and rare broadcast ! Betty was a lost child all her life and she paid the high price for it, but i don't totally agree when she says that in show business people should not have kids. Many actors and actresses were successfull in love and with their families. It all depends about personnality. And Betty was an alcoholic, which may have not helped, even if she had had an other life outside of show business she may have failed like millions of others people.

Betty really entertained us for years, but sadly, kind of, abandoned by her fans and costars. Glad to see she sought peace through God and with the help of a priest to guide her to achieve it. The surely had done a good job by giving her audiences a lot of herself in the entertainment world. RIP, Betty.

suffering demons and saying the devil is in someone means they have issues or are possessed, that is not the same as saying that Betty Hutton is the blue eye devil in all of us. That sentence clearly calls her the devil.

@@sterlinghayden4096 hold it....I am a Protestant and also a recovering alcoholic...I KNOW about the disease....Betty Hutton wasn't possessed, or the devil...good grief...she was ill.

You don't know what their relationship was. She says right in this 1978 interview that they were estranged. For whatever reason, their issues may not have been resolved. Nobody's business but their own.
