Plus, I can understand pre-flights not being in - but an F/A-18 doing manoeuvres that require thrust vectoring nozzles? Come on... @@thomaseccles627 The only maneuver that the F/A-18F in this video die was what looked like a stack against an SU-27 or SU-37. It's an irl manuever it could probably do it especially with the hornets fantastic low speed manueverability.

This mission is one of the reason I want to go into flying and maybe want to be a fighter pilot, but after learning so much about air-combat and just fighter jets in general, I know this engagement would be rare since everything nowadays is all BVR engagements
played this mission a bunch and always loved it, but there's a bit of fuckery that I've never noticed before: When the bad guys are unloading their cannons at you, you get the bullets breaking glass sound effects, a bunch of times..... I feel like I don't need to explain that if you got hit with that many cannon rounds or even had one of those hit your canopy.....
The only thing on par was the Desert Combat Mod for Battlefield 1942. The reason being, is that it being a mod for 1942, there wasn't a lot of computer assistance and you actually did keep your wits about you hunting the enemy and build up skill to master the weapon platform you were piloting to take them out.
@@Zymemaru yeah they're allied but they still don't have any flankers in their air force, at least the allegations haven't been proven. However they do have MiG 29s and as Aviv said, F-14s as well. The only Sukhoi they have are the Su 24s. They also have the Chinese F-7. the Northrop F5 and the Mirage F1. They could have used any one of these aircraft but for some reason went for for the Flanker.

Putting the plethora of major (and obvious) inaccuracies aside, this still remains one of the coolest missions I've played in a campaign.

Well you can technically fly without your canopy/canopy damaged. But chances are that if it hit your canopy, it also hit something on your panel.
if one of those slugs hit you, there would be a hell of a mess to clean up

Not everybody is an aviation expert, and the majority of players know what a "MiG" is as opposed to a "Flanker" so they used that.
