I went back for a visit after 3 decades. After having lived in the west for so many years, the contrast was undeniable… people are kind, witty, smart, open and so hospitable! The cities are clean and beautiful! It’s a very special place. Lots of economic issues but I wish the people knew how truly amazing their spot in the world is.
I’ve been away from Iran a little bit over 50 years. I still remember that beautiful Chalus Road. There are many wonderful amazing mountains, towns and locally owned restaurants with authentic Gilanie foods by Caspian Sea. Shomal was one of my go to favorite places as a teenager. I really miss that place. I still remember the aroma of the Caspian Sea.
I wish I could. I’ve absolutely no paperwork for traveling to Iran anymore, like Iranian passport or the National ID card. Beside , kinda lazy and time consuming getting all those paper work. Too many requirements.

Great to see the old Peugeot 405s still going. When I did this trip 25 years ago there were many Paykans on the road - this is based on the 1967 Hillman Hunter which is almost as old as me. Many Tehranis have a place on the Caspian to escape the heat - I was shown a massive ex-casino building on the Caspian which was built during the sha's time. Iran is a North-South country meaning huge variation in climate and vegetation - if you are European you will love this trip - it is alpine.
Your country, Iran, is wonderful. I'm from Brazil and your channel serves to break stigmas about this country that is very poorly talked about in the Western world
