Idk if they were freshman when this video was shot but they sounded like it from the way they she said she wanted to cry when she first walked in, but Ole Miss requires all freshman to be in a dorm (:
gurl were you not listening??? their dads BUILT those shelves, one of their moms refurbished that side table, those headboards look hella expensive, and those COMFORTERS and SHEET SETS??? not to mention the pillows and other trinkets and stuff lying everywhere! they seriously spent several hundred or close to a thousand on this dorm don't be delusional gurl these things cost money and no i'm not well off enough to waste that money on my dorm lol i got books to buy
Kade Hooper A thousand dollars is barely anything when it comes to furnishing. It costs tens of thousands of dollars to furnish an entire home. It's a good investment if having a nicely furnished room will improve their college experience.
Beth Ward Kade it cost to have a room like this, the headboards alone can run over 100 dollars hell even the bedding. My mother spent a couple hundred and our room was cute but it wasn't this cute so I know they spent a pretty penny
Beth Ward we're talking about college students here and everyone isn't privileged, some students can barely afford the necessities let alone having a lavish dorm room.
This is a matter of discretion and viewpoint. It falls more in the realm of people who wouldn't wear shoes in anyone's house and contaminate it with the dirt of the whole world or want shoes worn inside their own home. It's a big deal to those who have careful preferences. It's a dividing preference, to be sure. Those who don't mind are sharply unwelcome in the careful people's living spaces and the very careful are sharply unwelcome in the abodes where shoes are found on couches and bedding. It's like the dividing line between people who welcome cats on their kitchen counters and those who don't let cats and dogs inside. You like random others on your bed or you don't! We humans come in all flavors of careful or not careful.
Linda Sue Buehler I agree! I'm definitely of the "shoes off" variety lol. I know some folks would say I'm too picky, but my home is my sanctuary and I like for it to be treated as such 🙂
I imagine they're probably going to reuse all this stuff for next year, and the year after that. An undergraduate degree generally takes three or four years.
EmilyA1984 The problem is taking it down, storing it, transpo, unstoring it and putting it back up. Also, you don't usually have the same roommate year after year. The expense isn't really big. It's the impracticality of it all. Most will end up in the school dumpsters where seasoned dumpster divers KNOW is where you get the good stuff at the end of the school year. Every school. Every year. Without fail.
I know--I went to university too, so I'm familiar with the process. However, most of the things those girls got, they got two of, so they can simply take what's theirs if they aren't roommates next year (and they could stay roommates if they requested each other). Also, a lot of those items (like the bedding, for example) could easily be used year-round (even just swapping out home bedding for dorm bedding, and vice versa, when one set is in the laundry), so there'd be no need to store them. Yes, some of the items are impractical, but how else will they learn? When I was in my first year of university, I spent an embarrassing amount of money on art-print posters at the campus poster sale. I thought I'd use them year after year, and I tried to, but they got ratty from sticky tack, from being rolled up and packed, stored, and brought out again, and another thing--sticky tack dries out, and gets dirty, and doesn't stay sticky for very long. So, more than once, I remember being awakened by posters falling on me in the middle of the night. Maybe I didn't spend as much money as those girls did (we're talking $40 or $50, maybe), but I made the same kind of mistake they did. Later on, I decided to take a painting class, so that way, I could get schoolwork done and decorate my apartment at the same time, and canvas paintings are much sturdier than posters.
@ant sz; no, I don't they did it for the publicity. Its Southern Living giving them the exposure and the one girl only posted for her friends back in Illinois, that's when it caught fire because its so beautiful.
@fatj0dy; the rule would be no holes while hanging on the walls, the command strips allows her to enjoy the hanging without breaking the rule, this making her a rule follower ....
lmao just because YOU lived in a crap dorm for 4 years doesn't mean you have to hate on what these girls did here. They are sweet and adorable and wanted their space to feel like home!
I clicked on this expecting super snobby rich girls. What I got was super creative, humble, and respectful young individuals. Like I’m old, I’m 24 but still 😂 Beautiful dorm!
People are mad calling them rich when they said they found some of these things ugly and messed up but they fixed it, lol chill people and start being creative.
Breanna May Not true. I bought my comforter, sheets, and a few other thingd for college in fall of my senior year when everything was on sale. It was 60-70% off everything I bought.
Breanna May I got 3 sets of sheets, two for $3 and one for $5. My comforter was $20. I got a nice desk lamp for about $10 if I remember correctly, and we we saw carpets for $30 and below, but unfortunately none matched the comforter I chose. Homegoods and Marshalls are great as well. You can get great deals there as well. I think the only thing we've spent full price on for my dorm was a drawer cart for my clothes, since my dorm doesn't supply dressers, and a decorative tapestry I bought with my own money. Honestly, if you're smart about when and where you shop, you can have most of your dorm supplies for the cost of 1 Urban Outfitters or Pottery Barn comforter.
I remember sitting in the lobby of an oil company in Midland, Texas back in the 80's during the boom. The owner's daughter was a receptionist getting ready to leave for college. She was on the phone, talking about how she had met her roommate and they were preparing to decorate their room in much the same fashion. I'm sure it was very nice.
Ladies, this is GORGEOUS!!! I have two sons, so they are all about Star Wars and darker colors. I love seeing the "girly glam" look you have achieved. Brilliant job!
this is possibly one of the most beautiful and luxurious dorm rooms I've ever seen!! Shame you don't advise on London apartments!! Well done girls. Can't wait to see this autumn's dorm room.
Lindy Goodson you guys did an amazing job! As a Southern gal myself, I know how important creating a beautiful living space is and major props to you ladies for doing such an awesome job on s budget!!
Beautiful! But the thought of moving in a dorm every fall, then moving out the end of the school season and doing this 4 years straight. The though of set up and break down is crazy. They make it seem so simple when move in day and move out day is so chaotic.
Khessa Michelle Yeah. I think a lot of people in this comment section are wholly unfamiliar with college dorm life. They think it's an apartment they stay in continuously for 4 years with the same roommate. Little do they know. ..lol!
Shawna Johnson hey girl!! The dorm beds were able to be raised to up to 33 inches. For a guest bed room though I’d recommend bed risers (sold at bed bath & beyond, Walmart, probably Amazon) you can get 6 inch risers and probably even taller! We loved the tall beds for storage - hope this helps! :)
This past summer my high school cheer camp was at ole miss and the dorms were the most uncomforting thing. They gave off really down in the dumps vibes. Living in there for 3 days was too much for me but you guys did such an amazing job making it look so glam... compared to what it was before...
I'm the brunette in this video lol I know I'm 9 months late but I'm creeping through the comments and no worries we ate them all right after filming! haha I wish i was kidding
Super cute! Definitely more home feel then what it was before. It was so cold and dirty looking now it's beautiful and probably easier to study. Great job girls
So many people seem to be upset about the money they spent on their room and how they will have to deal with taking it all out and putting it all up again. Great to you all who feel that they would never spend money on something like that. What you all obviously didn't hear is that she said she felt if she was going to cry from seeing the cinder block walls and when I had to live in a dorm with walls like that it made me feel very uncomfortable. The reason for it all is so they feel comfortable in their room it doesn't matter if they'll be in the room all the time, its the fact when they are.
Hi I know I'm 7 months late but I'm creeping through the comments -- I am the brunette in this video and you're exactly right! Having a cozy room made me feel comfortable while being 6 hours away from home in a new state :) Thank you for watching!!
Definitely love how they decided to really make it their own. But yes, in college dorms/apts, friends sit with you on your bed when you hang out. Yes, you're going to live in an ugly dorm that you need to make your home. Which these lovely ladies took to a whole other level. If you can afford to dress up your dorm the way these ladies did, great! Go for it! But if you can't, you can still make your dorm cozy in other little ways. I kind of liked the way dorms looked to be honest! So don't get depressed because you can't have a fancy room. It's ok! It's part of the experience. You won't be spending much time in your room anyway other than to study and sleep. I don't know if I'd be able to study in that room. While it's beautiful for sure, it's a tad cluttered. That couch area gave me anxiety.
Some people are hesitant to have friends on the beds due to personal space, not wanting to have them sit on roommates beds without permission, or due to code of conduct (some schools wont allow guests to sit or lie on the beds especially opposite sex)
having volunteered at a thrift store, you'd be surprised at how many rich people come in izz camera roll. especially if the store location is in a rich neighbourhood
Great job girls! I love how each of you applied particle tips to almost every space and item in your dorm room creating an amazing space on a budget. Yet, creating a master piece charm everyones to be talking about!
I believe this will be a new trend, especially for female college students. They will feel more like there at home and wont be lonely so much while they are away at college. It raises their spirits, and do better at their studies.
This is lit, My mom is doing the most for my dorm room BCU bound Bethune Cookman University, and trust me she's not spending hardly anything but my room going to be fire, gotta ball on a budget, in her words.
Wow they really transformed the entire room! While the headboards and bedding were probably quite expensive it sounds like they also included a lot of diy stuff. With a little work and creativity you can make some beautiful items for a decent price. This is some good inspiration for dorm decorating.
Laila Nicole actually it can be very cheap if you got most of the things as presents from family friends and buy the rest plus it's homie and you don't want it to be plain
kiki yon well, they stated in the video that they got stuff at thrift stores and vintage stores and redecorated it, so they didn’t really spend loads of money.
Gaming Withjaz the one girl is wearing pearls around her wrist & both girls are wearing a decent amount of jewelry for a not special occasion, real or not, people that aren’t rich don’t do that just for a video
Amazing what these girls did with that little space. And it seems like their families mad sure if they got something for their daughter they got for the roommate like ottomans it is amazing..
I dont think they are not rich, just practical...everything they have, they have painted and remodeled...anyone can do that without alot a money...they have very good taste, money can't buy that.
Dorm rooms give me the sads so I get it. I didn’t move away to college because of instant depression that set in from spending one night in a dorm. I made sure to clean and make my daughter’s dorm room and bathroom more like a home for her.
The comments I see are mostly yall calling them out for being rich, yet a middle class person like myself got similar stuff from At Home and made a Shabby Chic room from scratch, minus the thrifted items I got. Its not always about being rich guys. They are just two girls wanting to express themselves. I really like what they did with the colors and layout. Its not only aesthetically pleasing, but its functional. You are just showing your jealousy because you think you can never create something as beautiful as they did. Which is wrong. We all can in our own unique ways and in our own styles. It just takes a lot of thinking and planning as they said. And yes, they did say that their parents helped them. I really don't think that they are some snobby college girls like everyone stereotypes them as. Honestly its really stupid to label them that in the first place. You should be grateful to even have a roof over your head and all the superfluous objects in it. You should be grateful to even have a car at all. It all could be destroyed the next day, so its good to be grateful and not complain about these supposed "rich" girls. I have some family who are more well off than I am. Do I complain? No, because they worked hard to earn their way to where they are now. And I am not rich whatsoever. I work to earn my own money. They raised us to not mooch off of other people. And these girls are earning their way into the world. So stop being jealous and be thankful for the things you already have.
Where did you buy your headboards, I’ve been looking for a while and can’t find pretty ones that will work like this. Also, did you have to screw them into the legs of the dorm bed?
beautiful! ignore the haters. this is gorgeous and inspiring. would like to see y'all do other spaces together. this is one of the most beautiful spaces i've seen--not just one of the nicest dorm rooms
I love this. But you can tell these girls are RICH.
yeah.. im worried that they won't be able to adapt to adult life
When the girl say she was about to cry when she walked into the dorm, I did a huge facepalm...
The brunette actually has a UA-cam channel where she does thrift haul videos 🤣
They would not be staying in a dorm if they were rich...
Idk if they were freshman when this video was shot but they sounded like it from the way they she said she wanted to cry when she first walked in, but Ole Miss requires all freshman to be in a dorm (:
must be nice being rich
You must not be well off financially. It doesn't take that much money to furnish a single bed room lol.
gurl were you not listening??? their dads BUILT those shelves, one of their moms refurbished that side table, those headboards look hella expensive, and those COMFORTERS and SHEET SETS??? not to mention the pillows and other trinkets and stuff lying everywhere! they seriously spent several hundred or close to a thousand on this dorm don't be delusional gurl these things cost money and no i'm not well off enough to waste that money on my dorm lol i got books to buy

The nicest dorm I've ever seen. Fantastic job on decorating and good luck this year!
I decorated my dorm for under 200 dollars and here is how you can too!
ua-cam.com/video/q948bNP-jRA/v-deo.html
Adorable. Dorms are so much a part of your college experience. Nice to see young ladies taking the experience to heart.
If my freshman dorm looked like that, I would've never left for classes or any other commitments.
"Where are people suppose to sit, on the bed with you?" Well yeah....
Liv right.....
Well if you have lots of people you might not be able to fit all of them on your bed and don't wanna use your roommates bed without her permission.
Yeah I was looking like -_- that’s where they’ve been sitting for years in dorm rooms. A really ditzy comment lol

My jaw was on the floor! These girls need to start a business!
Cora LovesGlam you better pick it up then you need to call them asap! Maybe first customer?!
Amen to that
More like there parents lol
*their . . .
Cora LovesGlam right?! Beautiful...!
Seems like a lot to only live somewhere for like 8 months
I imagine they're probably going to reuse all this stuff for next year, and the year after that. An undergraduate degree generally takes three or four years.

@EmilyA1984; I hear ya' on the breakdown and carry, but it looks like they have really helpful dads, so they're good.
@ant sz; no, I don't they did it for the publicity. Its Southern Living giving them the exposure and the one girl only posted for her friends back in Illinois, that's when it caught fire because its so beautiful.
literally 95% of the couch are pilows and 5% is for sitting
Ikr haha. They're cute, but you'd have to toss them off to sit haha
how ironic command stripping "REBELS' to the wall whilst talking about how you're a rule follower lmao
fatj0dy it's the school mascot
ah i was unaware of that hahah!
@fatj0dy; the rule would be no holes while hanging on the walls, the command strips allows her to enjoy the hanging without breaking the rule, this making her a rule follower ....
fatj0dy I was scrolling through the comments, didn't see this, went back to the video and came down to right this and was like oh
Their mascot is the rebels
lmao just because YOU lived in a crap dorm for 4 years doesn't mean you have to hate on what these girls did here. They are sweet and adorable and wanted their space to feel like home!
Julianne Collie IKR!
Mate nobody is hating on them. Also since when was being called rich considered “hate speech”.
I clicked on this expecting super snobby rich girls. What I got was super creative, humble, and respectful young individuals.
Like I’m old, I’m 24 but still 😂 Beautiful dorm!
I'm a little late to this -- but I'm Abby (the blonde in the vid) and I wanted to say thank you for the positivity, it means a lot :)
People are mad calling them rich when they said they found some of these things ugly and messed up but they fixed it, lol chill people and start being creative.

no one's got time for this when they have hundreds of thousands of dollars in student loans.
Honestly, it's gorgeous. Can't be easy to set up. That's goals!
This got me thinking legally blonde!!! Can i hire you guys to decorate my room
Ashley Gibbs you can hire their parents and probably use their money while you’re at it.
This is so beautiful! I wish they would decorate/ light up my dorm like this!! So chic and classy!
Love this story, Shannon - thanks for sharing!
Southern Living missed the point....
Shannon omg I'm from odessa texas! Though we moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania!
Henshee Afaga I'm from Corpus Christi, Texas
Aeriana Corre cool
Ladies, this is GORGEOUS!!! I have two sons, so they are all about Star Wars and darker colors. I love seeing the "girly glam" look you have achieved. Brilliant job!
Actually, I have a (female) friend who made a beautiful Star Wars room in her house. :)
I'm a little late -- but I'm Abby (the blonde in the vid) and I wanted to say thank you SO much for the positivity :)
Such an inspiration to remodel a dorm room 🕊🦢🏫🤍
this is possibly one of the most beautiful and luxurious dorm rooms I've ever seen!! Shame you don't advise on London apartments!! Well done girls. Can't wait to see this autumn's dorm room.
It must be nice having a roommate you get along with immediately-- would have never happened my first year!
Gorgeous...can't wait for my daughter to start college as a crafter Mom, I'll be helping her decorate her room!
These girls are adorable. Love love love them, love their style, and how humble they are ☺️
Aren't they cute?!
cloudzinmyize LOL aww, you're adorable
Thank you so much!! I'm 11 months late but I'm the brunette in the vid, haha creeping through the comments don't mind me :)
Lindy Goodson you guys did an amazing job! As a Southern gal myself, I know how important creating a beautiful living space is and major props to you ladies for doing such an awesome job on s budget!!

@Khessa Michele; I'm sure their dad's will pitch in again.
isnt that their problem?
It literally took me 4 hours to get my stuff out today and I didn't even have that much
Honestly this is super cute. Forget the people hating, if you have a vision go for it. :)
0hSnapShesHonest thank you!! The hate on here is amazing. They should be inspired by this. Thank you for being a breath of fresh positive, classy air.
I'm 10 months late to this comment but thank you!!! I'm the brunette in this vid lol creeping through the comments
Lindy Goodson how did you guys get the beds to that height? I'm wanting to do something similar in my guest room!
0hSnapShesHonest there is nothing wrong with being rich...
You ladies did a beautiful job. The headboards really make the room elegant
I'm from Kentucky but I'm gonna grow up in Tennessee because that's where I'm living right now and I just love their accent
This past summer my high school cheer camp was at ole miss and the dorms were the most uncomforting thing. They gave off really down in the dumps vibes. Living in there for 3 days was too much for me but you guys did such an amazing job making it look so glam... compared to what it was before...
i love the pillows with the design of their home states!!!!
2:01 who the hell has donuts sitting out without eating them all???
Blah Blah Blah I'm Tessa Brooks they were probably just to shoot the video lol
I'm the brunette in this video lol I know I'm 9 months late but I'm creeping through the comments and no worries we ate them all right after filming! haha I wish i was kidding
Lindy Goodson lol that’s too funny
@@the_real_lin_shady lmao true story
I hope these two young ladies started a design company for dorms. Great job ladies! Very creative!
Gorgeous! I'm sure it cost a little more but not expensive and definitely classy. Way to up cycle and create a beautiful space!
So creative for these young women just entering college! 👏🏼
I love it! It's so classy and functional. I love the DIY projects. Very creative! You girls and your southern accents are so adorable!
I'm sorry I'm really late to this -- but I'm the blonde in the video and I wanted to thank you for the positive comment :)
Abby Bozeman As a mid-westerner, I admire the southern hospitality southern girls pull off. I really should visit the Deep South more!
Super cute! Definitely more home feel then what it was before. It was so cold and dirty looking now it's beautiful and probably easier to study. Great job girls
It's nice to see these young girls in such a lovely and cozy room. I hope they live happily ever after wherever they may be. :-D
I think you girls with the help of family members did an excellent job!!!! Good luck on your next journey in life but remember to have fun.
So many people seem to be upset about the money they spent on their room and how they will have to deal with taking it all out and putting it all up again. Great to you all who feel that they would never spend money on something like that. Lindy Goodson The room looked amazing. The room setup is so well thought out. Good job😊
Definitely love how they decided to really make it their own. But yes, in college dorms/apts, friends sit with you on your bed when you hang out. Yes, you're going to live in an ugly dorm that you need to make your home. Which these lovely ladies took to a whole other level. FANTASTIC! Made your mama's proud!
These dorms are very beautiful.
Damn rich people
Xaoi Gay yeah rich people buy at thrift stores and garage sales
having volunteered at a thrift store, you'd be surprised at how many rich people come in izz camera roll. especially if the store location is in a rich neighbourhood
idiot, try thrifting
Alex xelA lmaoo
Xaoi Gay there's nothing wrong with being rich

The shoes one was a really good idea
Super clever! I already liked the stool idea, but to hold shoes - with the actual slots - is brilliant!
This is lit, My mom is doing the most for my dorm room BCU bound Bethune Cookman University, and trust me she's not spending hardly anything but my room going to be fire, gotta ball on a budget, in her words.
These girls are soo talented!!!
Leave those girls alone. That room is beautiful. You both have a great design eye. :) I wish you luck at school!
Wow they really transformed the entire room! While the headboards and bedding were probably quite expensive it sounds like they also included a lot of diy stuff. With a little work and creativity you can make some beautiful items for a decent price. This is some good inspiration for dorm decorating.
If these two start a design business I'll call them when I get my own place. It looks great
all i head from this was “my parents are loaded, my parents are loaded, my parents are loaded”
Laila Nicole actually it can be very cheap if you got most of the things as presents from family friends and buy the rest plus it's homie and you don't want it to be plain
Laila Nicole you're really pretty!!
kiki yon well, they stated in the video that they got stuff at thrift stores and vintage stores and redecorated it, so they didn’t really spend loads of money.
U can really achieve this look by been on a budget and refurbishing things. Its not that hard to make things look expensive.
Gaming Withjaz the one girl is wearing pearls around her wrist & both girls are wearing a decent amount of jewelry for a not special occasion, real or not, people that aren’t rich don’t do that just for a video
I love their decoration!!!
What well raised composed young ladies.
Love the headboards...where did you find them?
Awesome remodel/redecorating job!!!!
I love what they did. You can do it a lot cheaper, it just takes vision and a little shopping around. Don't hate, appreciate!
Beautiful dorm!
This is so Blair Waldorf inspired
I couldn't do that... Be so comfortable I'd fall asleep just from walking in... I'd never get any work done 😂
So much better than my dorm room. Great job!

Amazing what these girls did with that little space. And it seems like their families mad sure if they got something for their daughter they got for the roommate like ottomans it is amazing..
They did an amazing job!
I love their accents! So southern! I'm from Canada, so all I have is scented money. 🙃
Loved it! It'd be cool if you guys knew one of my old classmates lol Melody she a freshmen there too!
LMAO the irony of the girl wearing a "rebel" Tshirt saying she can't do without comfort and creates a home decor of a homy palace bahaha
constanzelabest 🙄 Good grief, they are the Ole Miss Rebels! She's supporting her school!
still looks ridiculous!

Love it! So creative and you can do it on a budget! Go Phi Mu!
What was used to get the beds to that height? I would love to do something similar in my guest room!
Y'all can get an interior design service done seriously !! I'd never think this was a dorm room
I'm sorry I am a little late -- but I'm Abby (the blonde in the vid) and I wanted to say thank you for the positivity :)
That is awesome!
Does anyone know where the one in glasses got that skirt?????? It is sooo cute.
DUDE I LOVE THE BLONDES OUTFIT
Where did you buy your headboards, I’ve been looking for a while and can’t find pretty ones that will work like this. Also, did you have to screw them into the legs of the dorm bed?
So awesome!!
Those headboards make the room?, where to buy!, awesome job
GREAT JOB TEAM!
Don't y'all know it's a Southern thing! We are all about PRETTY!
