I tested both in person for a few days. Beats Pill has better highs but sounds robotic. Bose sounds very warm, natural and more bass. However, Beats Pill distorts a lot at max volume unlike the Bose which still sounds really good. I returned the Beats Pill.
I have both. I prefer the way the Pill sounds, it’s more detailed at the high end. However the long presses on the power button can be annoying as it doesn’t always register and I noticed it can make everything on the table it’s on rattle, which the Flex doesn’t do. The Flex is easier to use, just don’t rely on the app, and still sounds really good. I think the comment about the Pill is more a home speaker is accurate, it’s heavier and just feels much nicer to hold. Essentially, they are both really good.
As someone who bought the new Pill, I can say that the thing that drew me to it most was the iCloud linking. I have multiple Apple devices, so the ability to pair my speaker seamlessly to it without having to go into the Bluetooth settings every time might sound like a trivial reason, but for me, it is incredibly useful. Overall, I have been incredibly satisfied with it. I haven’t charged it since I got it about three weeks ago and I use it every day for approximately an hour. Clearly, the battery life is rated properly.
Ive pretty much always been a Bose guy, i had the original beats pill back in the day before they were bought by apple, and it was phenomenal... After apple acquired it, i wasn't feeling it. It sounded horrible to me. But i recently just bought the new beats pill, and i gotta say, it sounds GREAT ! And i just bought it to try it out, but im keeping it. And remember, im a Bose guy.
I think when reviewing these small Bluetooth speakers, quality definitely matters. I find with some reviews there seems to be an expectation that these speakers should perform like bookshelf speakers. They are portable and will be limited. You pay for the portability and the satisfying sound that comes out of them…
Great video! I just picked up a Bose Flex about a week ago and I gotta say, I absolutely love it. I did catch the sale for 109 bucks for the black one, and for that price, it is an incredible sounding speaker. Of course, it has a limit to how good, and at the sale price I honestly want to get a second one just to try to stereo pairing and get more out of them. However, even just having the one, it is fantastic for when I'm just hanging out. I usually play it at about 40 percent and that even gets me a nice sound when I'm just sitting with it. I can't say anything on the Beats Pill, as I don't own one, but that was a serious contender for my choice of speaker until I saw the sale.
David, have you considered on reviewing anymore harman kardon bluetooth speakers? I still have my harman kardon esquire mini 1st gen and harman kardon one portable bluetooth speaker. Both of my harman kardon bluetooth speakers use micro usb. I've had them for 7 or 8 years and the batteries don't last that long since I constantly have to charge them and I use them when talking on the phone since they have a built in mic for talking on the phone. I still use the auxiliary port all the time since all my devices have the aux port and I only buy devices that have an aux port. I use the aux port since they offer better sound quality than using bluetooth since my lg v30 has the quad dac and I connect my portable speakers to the aux port all the time with my portable fiio hi res audio player running android.
I have two Sony ERSXB 100 Bluetooth speakers that I put in stereo mode when used. I feel this produces a larger stereo sound sage well still being compact. The two speakers together about the same size as one of the speakers featured in this video.
Beats Pill has no Bass as it is missing bass ports or passive radiators. Literally has no unit to produce bass. Bose Flex has passive radiators to produce bass and sounds more balanced. None of the reviewers are being truthful regarding criticism of Beats Pill.
Inuse pixel device and the bose sounslfex is the definitionnof BUGGY. It may work better with apple but inwould constantly have the device lose connection and then juat shut off in the middle of listening to music. Better luck with the beats
I went for the Bose because I love the green it comes in, and it went on sale last month for just $99.

I picked up the flex for $99. Can't beat that speaker at that price.
Got a refurb for even less which sealed the deal, SE version since I don’t care about calls.
For the type of music I listen to most often, I'm going with the beats. When paired, the stereo sound is amazing.

I got the Flex since I paddle and the thing floats!

I went with two Flex when they went on sale and have never found them lacking.

You talk a lot of sense sir, respect to you.
The Flex is currently $89 at Costco until late August!
That may be The SoundLink Flex SE that’s $89 at Costco. SE has no speakerphone

Beats Pill sounds better and has double the battery life plus the latest Bluetooth

Flex is $90 at Costco now. I just picked up one. ❤
You have to ask yourself if it's a good idea to turn the speakers away from the "blinded test subjects"?
Is Star Wars: The Truce of Bakura a good read? Would CNET recommend it? 3:38
Ip67 is wateeproof or dustproof.. Its Water and Dust resistance..
It is not a tie whatsoever, Bose beats Beats Pill so hard and it is much better!!
Stop lying to yourself...Beats Pill sounds better and has double the battery life
Beats sounds painful, Bose is much warmer and pleasing to ears.. @@lamar310
@@lamar310I have both and they are really close, despite the Bose being older. It’s a tie.
I disagree
Blindfold test was NOT helpful😂 I 1000% appreciate the honesty
BOSE IS THE BEST HAND DOWN!!!
Flex ❤
love ur reviews ! hope to meet u one day in new york ! kisses from italy
Both off those speaker can be trash by "Tribit Flow" for a half or one third of the price of bose and beats..

Bruh who's the woman with nails 😮👀🌹
jbl haha
Bose sounds muddy, horrible mids and barely any highs
All the overpriced speakers 🤣
after Beats Flex💩 I will never buy Beats again. Check on the internet what was a problem with Flex ones. I will never trust this company again
There’s no product called Beats Flex. Try again.
@@wutchamacallit are you living on different world kid?
@@wutchamacallitBeats Flex are wireless earbuds. How about you educate yourself before trying to bash others?😐
Do you mean the Bose QC Ultra Earbuds? They are terrible. The Bose Soundlink Flex doesn’t really have any common issues.
@@oliverstemp9132 APPLE BEATS FLEX Jesus Christ what's wrong with you guys?

Way overpriced. Much better options available.
