I once had a mouse trap kill a mouse, and it was in a slightly inconvenient place behind our boiler and forgot about it. When i got back to it, it had already started decomposing💀

@@tazkannon7403Yeah. I had a cat that I kinda had to train as a mouser. Construction near my house, meeses looking for a new home, I'm sure you see where that's going. So apparently my cat had killed a mouse, and hidden it in my closet. How one teensy little mouse made half of my home smell like absolute decay, and hatred, is beyond me. Never again. Bad smell? Investigate immediately
thats just me with dishes in the sink. I live alone but fo some reason i got 4 plates, 6 bowls, a dozen silverware, a pan and cutting board just sitting in the sink for almost 3 weeks.

As an IT professional installer, the best way to setup a desk, in my professional opinion, is to always set the monitor and peripherals, route their cables to where you want the PC to be, tie the cables, set the PC, and then connect everything, bundling the excess cable ends on the PC side of the connection.

i genuinely laughed myself to tears at work hearing about Mark's adhd. the coffee story had me squeaking in my little corner trying to contain myself. By the time Mark wasn't ready to start the round I was wiping tears while having to force myself to breathe

I have never thought this before today, but bravo to Bob for giving me the image of quote “like a sniper pissing…”. Now I have an image of a sniper destroying urinal cakes WITH ACCURACY. Or distorting pine cones in the forest on a camping trip. Or taking out falling snow flakes ❄️ as they drift drown from the clouds.

Lmao went shopping with my mum and we grabbed butter chicken sauce cuz we thought we were out and when we got home I looked in the fridge after she stocked it to see our brand new one RIGHT NEXT TO A PERFECTLY GOOD SEALED ONE OF THE EXACT SAME BRAND. She didn’t even notice when she placed the other one next to it and we both died laughing.
Edit: So in other words, yeah we’ve done that thing too where you forget you have something and buy it again

As a barista, Marks way isn’t too bad. We just use a towel with our finger to get out the rest of the grounds after rinsing it out. I mean if it was bare finger in the portafilter in a public coffee shop with the amount of espresso we pull that would be unsanitary but it would also burn very badly.

I'm the type of person who follows the instructions, but unlike Wade, I meticulously put something together to make sure it's done right. It takes extra time, but I'm able to step back and be satisfied that the thing I made will last and be stable.

i feel the cup thing, most of the cups in the house end up in my room stacked on top of each other for way to long.....Au/ADHD also takes me several interactions to remember someones name, something i do with a new device of any kind after logging in is eraseing all unnecessary applications and bloat ware as well as orginiseing all of its apps and creating folders or orginisers for things before i get them. then i get a seriously drop resistance water proof case that it lives the rest of its life in. proceed to peraiodacly lose the thing several times.

As a woman who's put lots of stuff together... you talking about the Hex key made me almost have an aneurism.
Fun fact about Hex Keys: Both sides can be used to turn. If you use the shorter end, typically that's better to tighten or loosen extremely tight bolts. The Longer End allows you to get into the smaller areas and allow you to turn it without having to do the whole "Plug in-take out-plug in" situation.
The correct way to make tea.
Boil water.
Put tea bag in cup.
Pour boiling water over teabag.
Take two spoons.
Lift up the teabag with one spoon and use the other to squeeze all the tea out of the teabag.
Throw away the teabag.
Stir.
Add sweetener if desired.
i’m a starbucks barista and when there’s left over grounds we also rinse it in the sink. that’s for the coffee itself though, the espresso machine it’s collects in a pile before it’s full and we dump them. we’ve always called them the forbidden brownie because they look like brownies 😂
i actually have a pretty specific order for making tea. i use an electric kettle so turn the kettle on to the correct temperature for the tea, because it matters, but also if i don't know i just guess instead of looking it up, then get the tea bag out of the little pouch so it's ready, then put however much honey i want for this particular cup of tea in the bottom of the cup, add some lemon if i'm having a sore throat or just want a little more flavor, then when the water is heated, this is where it gets real: put a little bit of water in the cup first to melt the honey and get it mixed in for ease of stirring because i don't want to stir around the bag, then pour the water OVER the tea bag. i have literally no idea if it makes any difference but i read once that that's how you're supposed to do it so i do. then i let it steep until it cools off enough to drink and i drink it, usually while it's still warm, or not if i forget about it, with the tea bag still in the cup because i like strong tea so i don't care if it continues steeping until i'm done with it.

Building flat pack furniture is something I approach like I'm building anything else. Before the box gets opened, I clear a working area that is the length of the box squared, fetch my tools so everything is to hand, then I open the box. I take out the instruction leaflet and the package containing the fixings, and I check the contents against the manual, to make sure I'm not missing any fastners, washers, or dowels. Then, I flamboyantly yeet the leaflet, because I just know how every fixing known to man works, and because I know how they work, I know what holes they go into without needing to be told, because its obvious from looking at the wood and any metal pieces how it goes together, once you know how the fasteners work. I get the main bulk of the material out of the packaging, lay out the fastners I'll need for each panel or piece as I take them out, and I'll just set about putting the thing together. I basically never use the provided hex key. Like Bob, I have a tool kit with hex heads in it, but I tend to use a ratcheting screwdriver with a hex head in it, and because every job starts with going and grabbing my toolkit, I never have to go looking for my tools. It's faster than using the fiddly hex keys, to use the ratcheting screwdriver, but less likely to cause damage by stripping material as a result of overtorquing the fastners, in the light weight, garbage tier materials things are usually made from. This is a risk whenever you use a drill motor or cordless impact to drive fasteners into wood with the consistence of taffy.
Once the thing is assembled the way it is supposed to be, I give the object a cursory shove to see if I think it's stable enough, check any moving parts are operating correctly, compare the object I made to all available pictures of it to ensure it went together right. At that point, if I think its tough enough as is, job done. If I think, on reflection "This thing is a piece of shit made of balsa wood and wet toilet paper, and I don't trust it", I then modify the absolute piss out of it, adding fasteners, bracing brackets or additional elements as necessary until it seems to be tough enough to throw into the back of a moving van without the whole thing collapsing like a 1970s housing structure under demolition orders, the moment the driver puts their foot on the go pedal.

I don't use a plate, just a paper towel, so apply jelly, wipe knife on other slice of bread first, then tear off corner of paper towel and clean it more thoroughly, then peanut butter. No way I'm using more utensils than absolutely necessary lol.

I follow the same building philosophy with assembly-required furniture as I do with mech model kits: check to see if all the pieces are present and then mise en place only the pieces for one page/section so I build it up macro part by part.

I actually keep all boxes for my monitors and pc. The monitors go into the box exactly how they came from the store. Styrofoam and everything. Stacking cuboid shapes in your car is so much easier. The pc goes into the box the case came in, it also has foam. Graphics card pointing down towards the earth. My GPU is pretty solidly mounted in there, also it's not that heavy anyway
