Hello everyone! We received a comment recently from Philip Chai asking us to make a video on the rental bike system in Seoul so we decided to make a tour guide on how to see Southern Seoul via the Han River and city bike paths. We show you how to rent a bike, where to eat and drink, and some famous landmarks along the way. We hope you enjoy the video, and as always feel free to ask any questions you have!

Is it 1000원 each time to renew? Or 1000원 for the whole day?
1000 for the whole day. I'll pin this so others can see too!
I was feeling lost when I tried to organize a one day Seoul bike ride, but then I found this channel:)
Glad we could help a bit! Hope you have a really good ride! The weather is perfect for it now!
10/10 for the vintage Canucks gear ! Great vid!
Hahah I bought that hat off eBay! It's super dope though! Btw half of that route was our scooter route (Green Eagles!!) if you remember! Haha even the spot where you and that old lady collided! 🤣
… Nice!
Did you see the guy on UA-cam who rode one of those exact rental bikes from Seoul to Busan? It took him A WHILE.
I saw that. It was amazing. He even started when he was sick.
Thanks Alex! Yeah we saw the video and it was really impressive! It would suck to bike all the way to Busan on one of those bikes!
Nice virtual tour. This video gives me a precious experience as if I were traveling there! Appreciate your good work! Like3!
Thanks so much for the kind words Mitsu! 😊
I really appeciate videos like this one, thank you. I'm a 63-year-old third-generation Korean American (my grandparents were of the first wave of Korean immigration to the U.S.) from So. California and I've been trying to pay my first visit So. Korea for the past several years, but due to So. Korea's progress (or lack thereof) toward a safer COVID-19 environment, I've had to pass. I'd really love to take 1 week and complete the 4 Rivers Ride. Hopefully in the next few years? Again, thanks for making videos like this one - very enjoyable!
Hi HP Shon thanks for the nice comment! It's really unfortunate with the travel situation right now, but luckily I've heard Korea is going to open up travel worldwide really soon without quarantine so let's hope that goes through! The 4 rivers trail from Seoul to Busan is an absolute must do as well! Once you can get over here just go at your own pace and enjoy all the sights and food that there is! Thanks so much for watching the video and let us know if you have any questions about traveling South Korea! You're going to have an amazing time when you can come!
@@lostthenfound Thank you very much for your very nice reply - very much appreciated! Have a great week!
Thanks for nice video showing where to go in Seoul using rented bike! Super useful for visitors who like to bike everywhere. Rental bikes aren't fancy but besides missing back rack, I would take a bike like that out for ride every day.
Thanks for the nice comment springer! 😊 Totally agree that the system is affordable and good for visitors (and citizens of Seoul!). The bikes are definitely good enough with the exception of the rack like you said and they are a little bit on the small side. Can't complain too much though!
Thank you Matt and Yujin. Nice show. Regards
Thank you so much, Howard! Stay happy and healthy! 😄😆😁
Thanks again for another information to you guys.
Thanks a lot Pakoy TV! 😊
Hahaha....
Yeap Name is correct...great video...nice info in 1Hr for 24hrs..
Strava... Cool
Thanks a lot for the great idea Philip! 😊 It's really cheap for sure!
Not the boneless!!!! No!!!! Nice video.
Thanks Elias! Haha yeah we had to go boneless because our hands were too dirty to go for the boned chicken. Bones are the way to go though! 🍗
Nice ride guys! I wanted to try it, never had a chance. Does it have gears?
Thanks a lot Thoan! There are 3 gears, so it's not really good for cycling fast or up hills, but it's good enough to pick a random neighbourhood in Seoul and cycle around and explore for sure!
Well nice momos and nuggets .Feeling hungry haha . Now I am also ordering nuggets but guess what the golden nuggets which you ordered there worth only 1.5-2dollars here with fries and coke from KFC.
Haha enjoy the nuggets Abhishek! 🍗 Also that's a steal! So much cheaper over there eh!
Hi, I'm planning on going to Seoul on November, and I'm torn between renting at Bike Nara a Gravel bike for one day, or the Seoul City Bike. I just want to go around the city on a bike for just one day. Which one would you reccomend?
@@burritocaat hi there, if you are an avid cyclist you might prefer renting a gravel bike, but if you just want to cycle casually then the Seoul Bike is fine, just be aware that the seats are quite low and they are normally not in super good condition.
Great video! My girlfriend and I are travelling to Seoul in mid-November. How's the weather for biking at that time? And can you pause the timer, let's say we rent a bike for 24 hours, can we pause if we want to get some food? Can you lock the bike and then unlock it?
Thanks so much Ian! 😊 In mid-November it's just starting to get colder but the weather will be fine for biking in the city still!
The only way to pause the timer is to return it to one of the stations. You can't just pause it wherever you want to unfortunately. However, there are so many stations everywhere in the city (just not on the Han River) so you will never have problems finding one!
Hope you guys have an amazing trip and feel free to ask any other questions if you have them!
@@lostthenfound Thank you so much for the informative answers!
We're looking forward to our trip and we might have some questions, when we're closer to the date :)
Hi, for payment you can use only Korean card, now? Because last year I can use any card with LCD bicycles, now there are no one here 😭 only QR, means need make registration like Korean, right? Thanks 🙏🏼
Hi there! I just checked and if you open the app and click "Foreigner," you can buy a pass without registering with either Visa, MasterCard, or JCB (they don't have to be from Korean banks I don't think). Hope this helps and good luck!
❤🇧🇷🇰🇷❤
Will the apps have a countdown to alarm you how much time left to re-rent the bicycle? QR and LCD bicycle, which one is better to rent?
I don't think they have a timer so we just set an alarm on our phone for 1 hour every time we rented it out. Definitely not super convenient but it works! Haha. Also QR and LCD are the same bikes but QR is a lot easier to rent because you can just scan the QR code instead of using the built in LCD to unlock the bike everytime. Happy cycling! 😁
@@lostthenfound Thanks for the helpful video and your clarification😊🙏🏻
Can we use the bike to cross the hangang river? From Yeoinaru Station to Mapo Station
Hi there yes you can! If you cross Mapo Bridge (마포대교) there are bike lanes on both sides of it, but I'd recommend the West side to get to Mapo Station easier.
@@lostthenfound If we just stop at GS-25 for a while, should we lock the bike? The time will count?
Are there electric models also?
The company Elecle that we used for food deliveries is all over Seoul for anyone to rent, but apparently Seoul Bike is adding E Bikes as well they just haven't started appearing yet. I think it'll cost more though.
Hello, I would like to go the same way as you did. Is it possible to have your itinary?
Thank you
Hi there! There is a link in the description to our Strava route file. So you can download Strava if you don't have it, and start a cycling activity, and then select our route here: www.strava.com/routes/2939170997366833934
You will see all the places in the video we visited if you follow the GPS, and you will see a lot of new things that we didn't cover too! 😁
@@lostthenfound thank you a lot I’ll do it today 🥰
