The Chargers-Raiders game from the final week of the 2021 season felt like an M. Night Shyamalan script.
It'd feel like that IF the chargers haven't been historical and perennial choke artists

Exactly now its Mahomes
Brady’s first Super Bowl gotta be scripted.
C’mon; the most patriotic, ‘Murican Super Bowl in the wake of 9/11 won by a team called the PATRIOTS. Hell, even the logo itself was tailored for New England to win the freaking game.
If that's the case then the Yankees would've won the World Series that same year

Imagine being Jim Kelly and getting the script 😳
"You're going to make it to the superbowl 4x in a row"
Jim: "well alright"
Writer: 😈
Everyone knows why Jim Kelly was scripted out of winning a Super Bowl: the NFL didn't like how he licked his hand constantly. Too disgusting.

It was a stroke of genius to have “Mr. Irrelevant” Brock Purdy be written like the second coming of Joe Montana but it was clear they wrote too perfect of a story. So the night before the NFC Championship the script was hastily rewritten to completely turn everything on its head for the ultimate subversion - a “Gainax Ending” in anime terms.
What happened isn't a Gainax ending, though. The team's #1 quarterback getting majorly hurt and the team imploding because of it is completely expected.
Gainax must be the 90s WCW of anime studios lol
They had to make sure the Kelce bowl would happen. Purdy was too powerful.
@@SamtheBravesFanYeah, but he got injured because the coaches didn’t protect him- because they read the script. 🤓😎

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be true.
Joe KNEW they were gonna win. Huge game. The NFL merger was on the line. Rigged? Yep. Rigged AF. No way they could allow the Jets to lose that game.
Bubba Smith has said it felt like someone was thumbing the scale in the Jets' favor in that game

The real reason the power outage was written was because Kaepernick was assigned a more radical role a few years later.
Well stated...you have discernment
It was to make New Orleans look bad. The NFL was butthurt that the scripted champions (the Falcons) were eliminated in the NFCCG and the blackout was their plan B. It ruining the Ravens' momentum and producing a more competitive game was a nice bonus. The NFL wanted the Falcons to win the Super Bowl in our dome the year of the Bountygate suspensions so they could fully get revenge on us for spoiling their Favre-Manning dream Super Bowl matchup in 2009.
Also, Kaepernick being blackballed had more to do with him ruining the Falcons script than the kneeling.
I’m pretty sure Kaepernick is still getting royalty checks from the NFL. That power outage was random (planned) and made zero sense as well.
Surprised bountygate didn't make the scripted list. To give New Orleans a shred of hope after being devastated by Hurricane Katrina is a storyline for the ages.
Love your vids dude!
It was 5 years later tho dude why not win it 2 years later or 1 makes no sense
@@alexfahey6733 I'd suggest checking out this summary on Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Effect_of_Hurricane_Katrina_on_the_New_Orleans_Saints
So many people associate the Saints Super Bowl win with resilience of New Orleans given the tragedy of Katrina, and boosted morale of those affected by it.
The script had Favre retiring on top with the Vikings, and the NFL was so butthurt that we ruined it that they manufactured Bountygate as a result.
@@karmew32 Yeah, it's not like the Saints made it obvious during the game or anything...

That’s funny that you mention those two teams, I just found some information out about those two teams that blew my mind. There is a reason why those two franchises have always sucked. The truth will come out a few years, and I promise you it’ll blow your mind too.
Not a lie - those 2 teams played in the NFL Championship Game 3 years in a row against each other in 1952-1954.
Super Bowl 51 easily the biggest scripted moment in the last 10 years
Nah man the falcons just actually suck that bad. And thats coming from an Atlanta native 😅

@@justinbroyles9102 if they suck then how did they make the super bowl
I try not to buy into the scripted hype but Marshawn not getting the ball in Super Bowl 49, then 28-3 always felt a little TOO convenient given which team won those two games.
And why throw a pass that high into the endzone. Throw it low to where you guy catching it or no one catches it. It was like Butler knew where the ball was going. Unless he just made a great read on the play.
What about a team called the "Patriots" winning the first Super Bowl after 9/11?
Hmm?
I mean there’s also the fact that ray lewis said before each of the playoff game that it was his last game. Not last ride. Last game. The ravens didn’t want ray lewis to leave so bad they won in unbelievable fashion to make him stay.
What’s the difference between last ride or last game? Lmaoo
In that Broncos game, late how can Jacoby Jones get that so wide open.
I think the NFL is way too large to be scripted, however I do think the NFL likes to "nudge" games to favor star players i.e. Brady, Mahomes and create narratives.
Yup perfect example Seahawks vs patriots sb they wanted Russell to save the day so they said pass I honestly feel like they told Russell to not give marshawn the ball at all cost cus if I’m not mistaken he was wide open on the the pass that crushed out season
It’s a business like pro wrestling. You have athletes, but you have to creat narratives
How can you say that it is way too obvious. Don't u think that it's strange how the 06 saints magical made it to the nfc championship game after practicing in the streets the previous year during hurricane Katrina.

- Making the Patriots a dynasty after 9/11 as a symbol of American Patriotism. Also 28-3 and the Seahawks not passing it to Marshawn Lynch at the goal line.
- Giving the Saints Drew Brees and a Super Bowl win after Hurricane Katrina.
- Leaving the LT/Rivers Chargers era ringless to tank the team’s support in San Diego and move them to Los Angeles. Ditto for the Rams tanking to leave St. Louis and the Raiders losing to leave Oakland.
- The NOLA No Call to get the Rams to a Super Bowl to win over the LA fanbase. Also, Stafford being sent to the Rams to get them over the top.
- The Cleveland Browns making a Face Heel Turn after Deshawn Watson joined.
- Joe Namath leading the Jets to winning Super Bowl III to get the NFL and AFL to merge.
What about when the panthers went to the Super Bowl? Cam was definitely supposed to fall on that fumble, rally Carolina and get his first ring
That one had to do with black panthers and they generally will never let a 100% black qb team win a sb again. Eagles made it, I knew they were losing. It was good to see the 1's play each other for once in a great while. After readings these comments I just realized how many (but not only) SB games but games period are like this. I mean so many SB games felt scripted (colts in 06, saints in 09, SB XLIX, SB LI, Tom Brady's whole fabricated goat career, hell the cowboys whole 90's run beginning with that one-sided trade......etc) its just madness🤯 and I watched most of the last 30yrs.
So because storylines exist that makes the outcomes pre determined? Because there is often a good storyline no matter who ends up in the super bowl. Teams like the Bills, Bucs or Niners were arguably better picks to go to the super bowl last year than the teams that went.
@CRMdrifter objectively, the NFL is a business first and foremost. Most of us ignore this because it's also called a league. Cause when we hear league, we tend to think "intramural sport" league, which is definitely not the case. Their job is to make money, and how they make money is to get people to watch and what makes people watch (intriguing storylines). The best team always winning is not always the most intriguing thing. Just look back on some of these games that we've all watched and then try to remember why some games are more memorable than others. People tune out on blowouts because a juggernaut is playing scrubs (casuals mostly), but casuals also jump bandwagons and will pay to be fans of winners.
@@seasonofkratos9638 While I understand that the theory still raises a lot of questions. How often does it happen? How many people are in on fixes? Is there an actual script? How does it stay quiet? When begin to become less legitimate? I could go on. Obviously the NFL is a business and I am not saying that I trust them. But I see a lot of people online who push this theory with 100% confidence while using arguments that don't really make sense once scrutinized. I will say though that you seem very reasonable and your take is better than most I've seen.
Good u pointing out a fact. "Tom Brady's fabricated goat career." 👍
@CRMdrifter tbh, I'm just as knowledgeable as everyone else. I just started watching objectively, stopped calling it a league. Think of the transactions/trades, news/propaganda, games/playoff games, and everything in between as a business model. I could be wrong completely, but...... when the seesaw gets heavily overloaded on one side, it gets stuck and isn't fun anymore.
There's a video with Doug Baldwin giving the thumbs up sign to the defender to go over him so he could score...fixed.
From a very young age, I felt like the NFL was scripted. I was 9 years old when the Bengals made the playoffs in the 2005 season, the first time I'd seen my team make the playoffs. Up until the Burrow era, I would posit that those 05 Bengals were the best Bengals team of the 21st Century. The NFL has always been my favorite sports league, because football has always been my favorite sport. Because of that, I've sort of taken it like movies or TV shows. We know those aren't real, even though they have real people starring in them, why do we assume that sports are any different? I still will get hyped if my Bengals go on a deep playoff run and you bet your ass I will be partying ALL offseason if we manage to win a Super Bowl one of these years. But, regardless of that fact, I just enjoy the product for what it is: entertainment.
the game itself is real the narratives the media talks about is where the scripting comes in. why else do you think every player and coach talk about ignoring the media?
@@insertnamehere9950 That’s fair. But when’s the last time a team won the Super Bowl without a narrative behind it? Every team that’s won it in the past 20 years or so has had a “reason” to win, so to speak.

The Fail Mary wrecked my plans for the next day. I had taken half of Monday afternoon off and all of Tuesday. Things were lining up well for me, as a game that I played religiously at that time had an expansion pack going live just a few hours after the game, and my copy of The Avengers was coming in the mail on Tuesday. Add to that that there was a new episode of NCIS (which I was really into at that time), and I had a great day and a half planned off from work. The Fail Mary happened and I went from pissed to bummed that night, and the game that I started playing broke for me, so I had to put a ticket in. The following day I had The Avengers in my hands by 10:30 in the morning, but I didn't feel like watching it. I finally forced myself to watch it at 3 in the afternoon, and NCIS that night. When I got back to work the next afternoon, my boss was still pissed about the football game. I can neither confirm nor deny reports that I was one of many drunken Packers fans who left a message on the phone number that Clay Matthews tweeted out that night.

But I think a far worse rogering was Championship Sunday in 1995. First the Colts got royally screwed by the officials in their outing, as it was said before the Colts/Steelers game had even kicked off that if Indy won the game, the spread in Vegas would instantly be 14 points before the NFC Championship Game kicked off. Then the officiating was really suspect in the following game, and the Cowboys couldn't run the ball for nothing until one of their linemen took out the knee of John Jurkovich, diving right at his knee from the side, pretty much ending his career. I even remember telling the people I was watching the game with, "Well, we're screwed" before halftime of that game. The officiating was so one sided that it seemed like the fix was in. At least I wasn't like my bud that night, who got so mad he totaled his car driving home from the bar that night.
