buy and spend till they are broke, and then they are depressed which leads to medication. Before social media, there were magazines with pics of models that were all faked.
It all leads to a money game and greed.

Great reaction and insight. Really nice to hear you propping up your daughter. It’s awesome, definitely. As a female who's been through it and met a lot of people, I just wanted to say how important it is, like you said, to uplift the inside beauty too. When you praise someone for their outside, it can actually emphasize that that's what's important. Sucks, but sometimes reminding children and teenagers that their outsides are beautiful in their own way (which is likely true), makes them think it's important. On the other hand, reality is what it is, and if you only tell a little one that their smart, they end up thinking they must be ugly. Catch-22, so you have to prop up all the wonderful aspects of a child - or simply say that, "You're wonderful." "Have I told you how happy I am that you're in my life?" "You bring me joy." It’s hard knowing how to teach a child that they are worthy. That they are valuable simply because they exist just as they are.
I reinforce my kiddos in all areas and prop them up and also prepare them for all truths and realities I’ve also tried my best to never lie to them I well even with holiday social constructs but I’m also from the south and will always correct them accordingly if the do wrong but I also do my best to walk them through whatever mistakes they may make but they are also aware dad isn’t to be trifled with bc they need to learn that for every action there is always consequences alas it’s late and sleep is evading me once again 🤘🖤🤘

I was thinking just that , when I was growing up we didn't pick on other girls like they do today for the way they look for their size ect ... You are so right about it being a thing of today! It's partly down to social media making women think there is a certain way you have to look! Take no notice of the haters they have nothing better to do with their time ! Ignore them it's what they hate most if you don't engage with them block and delete without saying a word!! ❤❤

While the current view of what is attractive is fairly modern, the idea that people (women especially) need to spend money or harm themselves is not that modern at all. You had European women wearing corsets that were so tight that their ribs deformed. Chinese women used to bind their feet to keep them from growing. During the Renaissance Italian women would put drops of night shade (a known poison even then) in their eyes to dilate their pupils because they thought it was seductive. Many of these activities go back hundreds of years.
