This is pretty awesome. This jack was made between 1931-1934 same outfit that makes the famous Manley valves for racing. Great job. Glad to see an upgrade on the hardware.
Thanks Mike! Ya you don't see too many Manley Jacks around! If you enjoyed this video, I'll bet you'll enjoy some of my others! Thanks for watching & supporting the channel! Lots more to come!
That's a very manly Manley! 💪😊 I love these old and beautiful types of workshop equipment, It is almost like a piece of art in itself. Very well done! 👍👍👍
I totally agree, that's why i went with 2 colors, I wanted to highlight the awesome look of it! Now, would I trust my MANhood with this jack, prolly not!
Well that restoration really lifted my spirits! 😁 Now I think of it, it makes sence that a hydraulic car jack was designed to improve on something that was already out there...... I just wish they hadn't now I've seen what they were trying to replace. That jack is so cool, I love it!!! Awesome restoration, as always, thanks for bringing us along for the ride 👍👍👍👍👍👍
I am glad you enjoyed it!! Yes many old tools were just beautifully designed, unlike many today, and that's one of the reasons I enjoy doing this!! As always Glen, thank you for watching and commenting, I truly appreciate it!
I agree with your doggy at ~23.0. Took one look and said, "I'm not standing close to that setup." Seems like finding stuff like that jack is probably harder than restoring them. That thing was built to never be taken apart. Great work. Thanks.
Thanks Mark! I hadn't seen one before this one either... That's part of the reason why I decided to restore it! I enjoy finding unique tools! Ya IF i use it, ill only use it for light things with NO danger to myself or others! Thanks for watching!
An awesome Manley jack restoration for a Manley man that does things in a Manley Manner. That is a real collectors piece. BTW, your pedicure and manicure is for this coming Friday.
WOW this has may name all over it ! Well it literally does my last name is Manley !!!😳 GREAT restoration as always ! This is something I have never seen before
Thank you my friend! I totally agree with you! That is why I went with 2 paint colors and choose to leave the hardware bare metal, I think it really accents the beauty in the original design!!
Great restoration. And the sound is amazing. I learned the new sound of an old jack. Thank you. Your dog has beautiful hair. It will be due to your love!
Nice job!! I use evaporust in my restorations also. Try this, after you take it out of the evaporust just run your parts under running water and wire brush them quick clean up.
Thank you my friend! I think I saw another one just like it on ebay the other day... It was in the exact condition this one started out in, but other than that listing, I wasn't able to find ANYTHING more about them ANYWHERE!
It's so fun about the dogs. I wondered where they all were; replayed it three times; eventually saw they were all on your side of the fence, down in the over-growth of foliage, just hanging out or were they watching something?
Good to see some Manley bicep action going on there Mr. Salvage. Another fine artifactual resurection. May l suggest a vice mounting/base plate that would temporarily afix to the square hole in your anvil.
1st of all super cool jack. Very impressed with this jack restoration. Really pleased with ur color choices - looks great reassembled. Love ur dogs- Blue Ticks?
The Manley Floor Jack vintage 1929 invented by Robert E Manley in Bridgeport Connecticut. In 1931 the Eastern valve company of Hanover Pennsylvania purchase the patent. The non Hydraulics for used on tow trucks. Unrestored from $100 to $1,000 in value depending on the model.
Just watched your restoration, great job! I happen to have that same exact floor jack. It was my dads and I remember my dad using it when I was a boy. You have inspired me to possibly restore it, I'll let you know if I do!
Would look great under an old straight axle Model T picking up the front end. Very nicely done, but invest in a sandblast cabinet, would save loads of time plus limit the exposure to harsh chemicals, and all the rust-lead paint dust from wire wheels. Use some shim washers right and left on those captured pins to keep parts centered, and a few drops of oil on moving parts (not grease....only attracts sand, and dirt). Incidentally love the Weimaraners (5?).
Hello SW. Beautiful restoration on the Manley - probably looks better than it did new. You sure tuckered out the pups on this one thought. Regards, Dave
Thank you David! I would agree, it didn't come new this nice! Wearing out my pups is a hard task! If you're familiar with Weimaraners, you'd understand, if not you should look them up! They're made of pure energy!!
@@SalvageWorkshop I have a 9 month old miniature schnauzer - he is more than enough work for me - he takes a quick power nap and is ready to rip again.

I love it when you paint the letters white,it makes the rest of the paint job pop.
I like the way you make these videos. No music or person talking.Keep up the good work.
Taking it apart is half of the problem, nice to see the dogs with you, amazing work as usual.
Making old things look new !!
Great work !!
I've been watching several of your videos and enjoy the restorations. The jack came out great.

I always chuckled when the dogs (inspectors) came to see how the project was going. Beautiful restoration! Thanks for sharing!
What a cool old jack. That one will never blow a seal right when you need it.
You got that right Emerson! As old as it is, I'm still not sure how much I'll trust it, but for small stuff it'll be perfect!
Oh good. A tutorial and inspiration/motivation to restore mine, which I've had for over 50 years.
Go for it Jim!! I'd love to see it when you do it! Thanks for watching & commenting!

That jack is already looking good and it works like a charm, too.

CANCEL IT!! Those are MANLY hands my friend!!
Very nice. Great thing to have around for lifting. Thanks for the video.
Simply amazing that you can get all those parts back together. You are good, that’s for sure.
It was definitely a puzzle!
That is so pretty it could sit around as an adornment in the garage-- a piece of "eye candy".
I love seeing it all laid out on the table, before AND after restoration.
A manly job, indeed!
