A lot depends on what you want to get out of your trailer. Choosing the right flatbed trailer for you is going to depend on what you're hauling, where you're hauling, and how long you're holding onto the trailer.
If you're looking for something flashy, maybe an aluminum trailer is the way to go. If you're looking for something to go to work, maybe you're looking at a combo trailer. If you need something heavy-duty, an all-steel trailer could be right for you.

Can your aluminum MAC trailers hold more weight than the Steel MAC trailer?
Ultimately it comes down to weight of the trailer, tractor and the GVWR. Since steel is heavier than aluminum the short answer is yes. How much does a 48foot steel flatbed weigh?
A standard spec Utility with no options is going to weigh 10,500 lbs. As you add options you also add weight so a setup with a tool box, winches and sliding tandem will weigh in around 11,000 lbs.
